When Cecilia mentioned “sleep,” she didn’t mean the verb that involved exercising.

In the end, however, she was kissed senseless by Christopher and sank into oblivion with his

affection.

He gripped her waist with his large, searing hand, picked her up, and placed her on the bathroom

counter.

The chilly surface was in sharp contrast to the heat brought by the man.

These two totally opposite sensations completely ignited the flames within her.

Cecilia raised her feet and hooked Christopher’s strapping waist. Her fragile–like hand touched the

blood–red mole in the corner of his eye as she deepened the kiss.

Christopher’s heart skipped a beat. He asked while kissing, “Ceci, have you thought it through?”

Cecilia gazed at the exceedingly handsome man with misty eyes and nodded.

The next second, her kiss landed on his S**y Adam’s apple.

Christopher stiffened up and reached out to unbutton Cecilia’s shirt.

Unfortunately, it was challenging to do so single–handedly, so he failed to even unbutton one after a

long time.

Observing his impatient yet helpless expression, Cecilia hugged him and chuckled. “I’ll do it.”

Never in a million years did Christopher expect himself to screw up during such a critical juncture.

He cleared his throat awkwardly and caught Cecilia’s hands that were unbuttoning her top.

“Let’s continue after my injury heals.”

He wanted their first time to be sweet and perfect.

Now, however, he obviously couldn’t live up to that.

Cecilia was wholly struck dumb.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, stared at Christopher, who was trying hard to restrain himself, and

licked her red lips.

She thought, ‘He’s clearly the one who started the fire, and we’ve already gotten so far, yet he’s asking

to stop now?

Is he impotent?‘

Avoiding Cecilia’s scrutinizing gaze, Christopher carried her down from the counter and helped her tidy

up her wrinkled clothes and disheveled hair.

He dotingly stroked the tip of her nose when he saw the complaint in her gaze.

“Ceci, I want to give you the best in life and experience, but now isn’t a good time.”

It wasn’t that Cecilia had to sleep with Christopher there and then, but it was frustrating that he left her

hanging after turning her on.

Thinking of this, she bit Christopher’s Adam’s apple.

Only when she heard him groan in a muffled, odd voice did she let him go.

“Get out. I’m gonna take a shower.”

As she said this, she looked down, and her gaze overtly landed on a certain area.

Christopher moved his legs to shield the abnormality under his trousers.

“All right, go take a shower.”

Next, he walked out of the bathroom in a fairly peculiar way. Cecilia pursed her lips somewhat

regretfully as she watched his

alluring back and long legs.

The bathroom door then closed, and she went into the shower. She leaned against the cold tiles while

her restless heart gradually calmed down.

Then, she took off her pajamas and was ready to take a shower.

Right as her hand reached the shower switch, she heard a muted sound that was extremely soft and

suppressed.

Cecilia rubbed her ears, then took a shower as if nothing had happened.

Consciously, she prolonged the shower lest she encounter an unspeakable scene after going back to

the bedroom.

About half an hour later, the sound of water ceased, and so did the muted noise.

As she didn’t come in with clean pajamas, she had to go out wrapped in a bath towel.

Christopher had just slowed down his breathing when he saw Cecilia reappear in a bath towel that only

reached the tops of her thighs.

Her skin was bronzed and smooth, her straight, slender legs incredibly tantalizing, and her petite face

was flushed pink from the heat of the hot water, looking beyond irresistible. The short bath towel did

nothing to conceal her breathtaking curves, and the water droplets dripping from her wet hair down into

her cleavage left him dying to study every inch of her skin in depth.

Realizing that his breath was out of control again, the man hastily averted his gaze and got up to head

to the bathroom. When he passed by Cecilia, his arm was grabbed. “I’m sleepy. Dry my hair before you

take a shower.”

Of course, Christopher wouldn’t turn her down.

“Go sit in front of the vanity. I’ll get the hairdryer.”

After he brought the hairdryer, Cecilia pushed him onto the chair and then sat on his lap.

As she had just taken a shower, she smelled of her fragrant body wash.

It was a refreshing and minty fragrance, but when mixed with her natural body scent, it made

Christopher a little

overwhelmed.

The temperature in the room began soaring again.

“Ceci, it’s hard for me to dry your hair while you sit on me.” Hearing his hoarse voice, Cecilia purposely

leaned against his arms and felt his body heat.

Then, she raked through her wet hair with her fingers and lifted it to blow dry easier.

“Since you can’t move your other hand, I’ll lift my hair while you blow dry it. It’s perfect for me to sit like

this.”

Christopher couldn’t retort to that and could only allow Cecilia. to torture him on purpose.

He thought, ‘This girl truly isn’t willing to suffer any losses.

Because I started the fire earlier, she now wants to do the

same!‘

Indeed, that was what Cecilia thought, but it wasn’t because she wasn’t willing to suffer losses. She

merely wanted to see how much Christopher could endure.

Hence, while he blow–dried her hair, she deliberately ground her butt like a little minx.

The man’s breathing instantly became labored as he peered at Cecilia with a mix of fondness and

helplessness.

“Ceci, don’t mess around.”

Cecilia turned her head and stared at his eyes, which were

reddened by his forceful suppression of urges. Her heart pounded once fervently, and she stopped

moving.

It was beyond her expectations that she’d be so immature one day.

She said to herself, ‘I’m truly becoming more and more human.

I’ve learned to throw a little temper tantrum, express emotions, consider other people’s feelings, and

stop being indifferent. This is great.

By the time Cecilia’s hair dried, Christopher’s breathing had calmed down once more.

He put down the hairdryer and kissed Cecilia on her forehead. “Don’t go to sleep yet. I have something

to ask you later.”

Cecilia could guess that he wanted to ask about her past, so she nodded.

She then got up and changed into her pajamas after Christopher went to the bathroom.

The pajamas were still conservative, but it was a short–sleeved top and shorts.

The old scars on her limbs were clearly visible.

Since she didn’t feel embarrassed, she didn’t consciously hide under the sheets and simply leaned

against the headboard while sitting on the quilt.

Listening to the sound of running water, Cecilia texted Evan: [Evan, Christopher is the man I’ve settled

on. I’ll tell him about my past and may bring up the Shaw family. Is that okay?]

If it was not, she’d wait until they met Elaine.

Evan’s reply came very soon.

Evan: [Since he’s going to become one of us in the future, of course, it’s okay.]

Cecilia: [Okay, got it. Do you really not need me to apply

Evan: [Nah, I’ve been hurt worse, and I always dealt with them myself. The bumps tonight are child’s

play. I’m going to bed now. I didn’t have much rest on the plane.]

Cecilia: [Good night, Evan!]

She closed the chat interface, put her phone on the bedside table, and looked toward the bathroom.

Before she was adopted by the Shaw family, her past was horrid.

In those years when she trained as an assassin, in particular, she had even killed her partner for

survival, not to mention doing bad deeds for that evil organization.

The only thing that relieved her was that she had tried to save others even when she was in hell.

She wondered if the older boy, who was spared by her, had been killed by someone else.

After all, before the assassin organization was eradicated, almost no accepted missions had failed.

At the thought of this, Cecilia unconsciously recalled that older boy.

Alas, she was too young at that time, and the two merely met each other briefly. She no longer

remembered much about him.

All she could recollect was that he was tall and thin, somewhat malnourished.
