Arnold received a call from Marcia. He initially considered ignoring it, but finally he decided to visit her

after much deliberation.

Marcia was lying on the couch, her face pale from exhaustion. Over the past three years, all her

investments had gone belly up, leaving her in a financial pit.

She had a hunch that this was Leopold’s way of giving her a warning. He was beginning to suspect

her.

Leopold had destroyed the Night Devil Organization. To avenge Aurelia, he had turned those who had

kidnapped her and strapped her with a bomb into a grisly mess.

Arnold cast her a cold look. Even though he was in Goldstone before, he had heard about her

predicament.

“Aunt Marcia, are you looking to borrow money from me?”

Marcia massaged her throbbing temples and said, “Arnold, I’ve been the one spoiling you since you

were a child, and you dare mock me? You even pointed a gun at me for a woman. You break my

heart.”

Arnold hummed dismissively, “You knew Aurelia was my beloved, yet you had her strapped with a

bomb, using her as bait. You almost got her killed. Have you ever considered how I would feel?”

Marcia waved him off, “I didn’t do it. It was the Night Devil Organization. They got greedy and acted on

their own. If I had orchestrated this, do you think Leopold would have let me

off the hook? He would have skinned me alive.”

Arnold demanded in a low voice, “Who are you working with?”

Marcia grasped his hand firmly, “All you need to know is that everything I’ve done is for you. You

should be the one leading the Stirling family, not Leopold.”

Arnold said calmly, “Auntie, the matter is settled. Don’t waste your effort. In this fight for power,

someone else might benefit. Dad has more than one son. Be careful not to pave the way for someone

else.”

All he wanted now was to free Aurelia from Leopold and make her his wife.

Marcia seemed to read his mind. With a serious expression, she said, “Aurelia isn’t yours yet, and your

relationship with her violates the family rules. Leopold can kick you out of the Stirling family at any

time.”

Arnold scoffed, his face showing no concern, “If he’s willing to divorce, I can leave the Stirling family.”

Marcia looked at him incredulously, his indifferent attitude making her scared. What kind

“Arnold, if your mother knew that, she would be heartbroken. Haven’t you forgotten how she died? She

was murdered.”

“I haven’t forgotten, which is why I don’t want to end up like her, always scheming and losing her life in

the end. All I want now is for Aurelia to divorce Leopold and for us to return to our home in Goldstone

and live a peaceful life.”

From a young age, Arnold knew that his mother was ambitious. She wanted not only his father’s love

but also the Stirling Group.

But her opponent was a cunning woman, so her patience and schemes were unmatched. She could

never win.

Marcia picked up the cup from the table and had some tea, then she said, “Leopold will never divorce.

He’ll never willingly hand Aurelia over to you. If you want to be with Aurelia, you must replace him, or

he will kick you out of the game sooner or later. I’ll help you, Arnold. Whether you want Aurelia or the

Stirling Group, I’ll be there for you. You have to trust me and work with me.”

Arnold fell silent, a hint of hatred flashing across his eyes.

On Tuesday, Aurelia visited the Stirling Mansion as promised. Upon entering the main hall, she saw

Jessica, who had developed a certain resentment towards Aurelia ever since she found out about

Aurelia’s affair with Arnold. She thought Aurelia was a femme fatale.
