With blood ties linking us together, I don’t believe that Bailey will turn a blind eye to me, her father. Now that Rhonda is ruined, I’ll merely give her up. As long as I cling to Bailey, I’ll still become Artemis’ father- in-law at the end of the day.

Beatrice seemingly saw through him, for she couldn’t help sneering, “Do you think Bailey is your biological daughter? Hah! How laughable that you had no idea Sophia had been cheating on you for so many years!”

Trembling violently, Clarence glared at her with disbelief written all over his face. “What the h*ll do you mean by that, b*tch?” he bellowed.

“What I meant?”

Beatrice slowly got up and stumbled over to the cabinet. Unlocking it, she took out a DNA test and tossed it onto the coffee table.

“You’ll know after taking a look at it.”

At the end of his patience, Clarence strode forward and snatched up the document on the table. He scanned through it, his expression growing increasingly grim as he read further.

The last line read: Specimen A and Specimen B are not biologically related.

Not biologically related. So, we’re not father and daughter!

Unadulterated towering rage consumed Clarence. With his face contorted into a mask of fury, he ripped

the report he held into shreds.

“How dare you, Sophia, you b*tch! You actually gave birth to someone else’s child and even had me raise her for twenty years! I’m going to dig your remains out and desecrate your grave!”

At that, a peculiar smile bloomed on Beatrice’s face.

Hah! What’s the greatest humiliation for a man? It’s his wife cheating on him and giving birth to someone else’s child, yet having her husband raise the child to adulthood. Now that things have progressed to this, I don’t believe he’ll still rely on Bailey, that illegitimate child who’s the source of all his shame and disgrace!

“Can you still rely on her when that little b*tch isn’t your biological daughter, Clarence? Don’t be such a fool. When she learns of her background, she’ll only remember you banishing her from the family but forget all about you having raised her all those years.”

“Shut up! Zip it!” Clarence snarled before rushing over to the staircase while stumbling all over himself.

Seeing that, Beatrice snorted with laughter.

It seems that this old geezer is even dumber than I’d expected. With just a few words, he believes that his deceased wife cheated on him. Well, it’s a good thing. Then, he won’t investigate the incident from all those years ago. Consequently, he won’t have any idea about Zoey’s existence. Right now, the only thing I’ve got to do is to figure out a way to use that daughter of the Shurmer family to strike at Bailey!

In the garden at the seaside mansion, Victoria sat in the gazebo.

Hearing the sound of footsteps behind her, she lamented in a tearful voice, “Everyone out there knows that you’re my sugar daddy, yet you still dare come here. What do you take your wife for, Lionel?”

Lionel stood behind her with his hands at his back. For the very first time, the urge to explain things to her gripped him as he gazed at her slender and delicate back.

He wanted to clarify that Wendy wasn’t his wife and Sebastian wasn’t his son.

“Victoria, I—”

Just when he was about to lay his cards on the table, the phone in his pocket rang out of the blue.

Taking it out for a glance, he saw that it was a call from Sebastian.

He answered the call, upon which Sebastian said something or other to him that had his handsome face promptly darkening.

“Okay, I got it. I’ll rush home immediately. Be good and don’t worry. Your mommy will be fine.”

After terminating the call, he whirled around and hastened toward the garden’s exit.

He had barely taken three steps away when he suddenly halted in his tracks and turned back to Victoria. Staring at her back, he expounded, “Wendy attempted suicide, so I’ve got to go home and see how things are. Wait here for me. Wait for me to return and explain things to you.”

When Victoria heard all that, her back inexorably stiffened.

As his footsteps gradually faded into the distance, a bleak smile tugged at her lips.

Hah! I, the shameless homewrecker, have backed his wife into such a corner that she attempted suicide. The thing I loathed most in the past is actually reflected in me today. How pathetic!

A long time later, she slowly picked up her phone.

Flipping to Bailey’s contact, she sent her a text that read: I’m done repaying my debt, Bay. Come and take me away, won’t you?

When Bailey received that text message, her heart clenched painfully.

She brushed the tip of her finger across the words on the screen, sensing Victoria’s sorrow and despair.

The fact that she’s making such a decision makes it clear that she has truly finished paying off her debt. But how is she going to start a new life when she’s littered with scars all over?

After holding her phone in silence for a long moment, she stiffly typed out a single word: Okay.

Meanwhile, Artemis had Ken hand Rhonda over to her lawfully wedded husband.

That man was named Pedro Coleman.

He was a street thug who often stole and pilfered. On the whole, he was nothing more than a roughneck.

Anyhow, his life improved after Artemis gave him a sum of money.

But even then, he didn’t change his ways, even becoming addicted to gambling.

As the knocking on the door persisted, Pedro blearily stumbled out of the bedroom in a pair of shorts.

He went to the living room and opened the door.

“Who is it?”

Ken waved a hand.

Following that, the two bodyguards behind him pushed Rhonda, who was all tied up, at Pedro.

The groggy man abruptly jolted awake when a beauty fell right into his arms. At the sight of Rhonda’s smooth and supple skin, lust glinted in Pedro’s eyes.

“Mmph!”

Rhonda’s mouth was taped shut, so she couldn’t speak. Nevertheless, her lovely eyes brimmed with terror.

Ken then said to Pedro in a cold voice, “This is Ms. Rhonda, whom you married. From today on, she’s your wife.”
