A restaurant**

Mary sat impatiently, waiting for Daniel to show up

It’s almost nine but he’s still not coming….

She glanced at the time for the uptenth time and sighed

“Miss, what would you like to order?” A waiter asked

“I’m waiting for someone, I’ll order once the person is here” she replied

” Ok Miss” the waiter replied and left

She glanced at the time impatiently again

She has been waiting here since seven and now this?

She feels hurt as she started feeling cold, she’s wearing armless and as a result of the rush to leave the orphanage, she forgot to pick a jacket

She rubbed her bare arms as the cold night breeze blew slowly

She picked her phone to call him again but she’s now out of battery

She has been trying his line since but it’s off

The worse is that it started raining though it’s not that heavy

She dropped her phone in her bag and stood

She walked to the entrance of the restaurant and stood there

“He really won’t come?” She thought

Another glance at the falling rain, she decided to leave

She started walking to her car in the rain…

“Mary!” Daniel’s voice called behind

She stopped and slowly looked back at him, he’s breathing heavily, standing in the rain too

Mary’s face lightened up with smiles, she ran to him and her shoes kept dipping in the rain water on the ground

She got to him and hugged him tight

Daniel slowly hugged her back

“I’ve been waiting since seven” she said

” I’m so sorry, I forgot about it, I remembered some minutes ago and figured it out that you might still be waiting, that’s why I came rushing” he said

” You ran?” She said

” Yes, if I board a cab, it might take too long, that’s what I thought” he replied

” I love you very much Daniel, I thought you weren’t gonna come, I was starting to get hurt but I’m glad you came, at least I saw you” she said, hugging him more..

” I’m sorry for keeping you waiting” he said

“So far it wasn’t intentional, apology accepted” she replied, finally breaking the hug

” I love you Danny” she said again, smiling happily as the rain drenched them

“Mary I’m….poor” he said…

She held his cheeks and smiling more widely

“I don’t mind” she said

“I don’t have a car, the one I came to the orphanage with the other time belongs to the principal, I live In a one room apartment, I’m just a poor chemistry teacher and….

“Shhhh, I love you like that, I just love you without reason, it was love at first sight so please, just allow me to continue loving you till you’ll start loving me back” she said

” Mary…

“Don’t worry Danny, I’ll wait” she said and slightly pecked his lips

She smiled after that and hugged him again…

*What should I do with you? ” Daniel said

” Just love me back” she said

Daniel let go of her and smiled

” We’re both wet from the rain, how do we handle ourselves?” He said

“That’s a boutique” she said, pointing at a nearby one

They went there and got clothes for themselves, Mary payed

They used the changing room and changed, disposing the wet clothes in the bin

They felt warm after that and left the boutique for the restaurant

The rain has stopped now

They sat and ordered their choices before starting to eat…

“I feel bad” Daniel said slowly

“Why?” She asked

“You’ll pay for this too, I want to pay too but my payday is next week Friday, I’ll pay you back for all what you payed for” he said

” You don’t need that Danny, you don’t need it at all…… I’m fine with it, I’m the one who called for dinner right?, So please…stop” she said

He avoided her eyes as he continued eating

” Danny” she said

He looked up

” Stop being like this…. please, look up at me” she said

He managed to smile a little…

” That’s what I want” she said and they continued eating

” So how’s life at Hilary?, Teaching chemistry must be bothersome right?” She asked

” No it’s not, I have bright students especially Goldy and Cindy, Lucy is brilliant too… and the others aren’t bad, everyone is just good” he replied

” Goldy, Cindy, Lucy” Mary said slowly

“What about them?” He asked

“A secret, but I’ll tell you later” she replied

” Is it something big?” He asked

” Somehow” the replied, wiping her mouth with tissue…

They finished eating and left the restaurant, she insisted that she’ll drive him home and he reluctantly agreed

She drove him to his house with his direction and when he came down from the car in front of his house, she came down too

“Danny” she said

She looked back at him

She pecked his cheeks instantly…

“Gnight, sleep like my baby dear I love you” she said , waving

He waved back as he went in

She smiled widely and got in her car before riding off…

Monday**

The students are just finishing the first paper and it’s lunchtime, after lunch they’ll write the second paper…

They trooped to the cafeteria to eat while some went to the library to revise

“Biology is annoying” Erica said

It was biology they did first

“Yeah, very sweet” Lucy said. .

“It’s simple” Nina said

“I know it’s simple, I just hate it” Erica replied with a frown

” Hey stop frowning that cute little face” Nina said beside her

She smiled as they all entered the cafeteria…

They settled down and ate together

“So we have chemistry after lunch break, I can’t wait!” Nina said

” You broke the deal with Mick and I’m glad it’s off, now focus on the one you love” Lucy said…

” Hey” Nelson said from behind Erica

“Oh.. Nels” she said with a smile

“Let’s eat together” he said

She carried her tray of food and winked at her friends before following him to another table, they settled down and ate

“You like hamburgers a lot” he said

“Yeah, best snack” she replied

He’s eating cupcake

” Not bad” he said

” So how was the biology?” She asked

“Simple” he replied

” I knew it, nothing is hard for you guys” she replied…

” What about you?, You’re a nerd” he replied

” Says who?” She asked

” Says me” he replied and they both laughed

“Let’s read together this night” he said

“You’re adopting Goldy and Nina’s style, the only difference is that we aren’t dating” she replied

” Yeah, let’s just read together” he said

“Ok..deal” she replied

“I smell something” Clinton said from the guys table

“Same” Goldy said, looking at them

Mickey suddenly stood and left the cafeteria, feeling like he has watched enough

“Jealousy” Goldy said

“I know, I just hope he won’t turn desperate” Clinton replied…

Rooftop**

Rex and Cindy are busy eating together as usual

“At this rate, pepperoni and pizza will grow on your head” Rex said as they ate

” Ion mind” she replied with a mouthful

“I wonder how much more pretty you’ll become when we finally get married” he said, that made her choke and she started coughing

He gave her water which she gulped down

“Are you crazy?, How can you suddenly bring up something like that?” She said, calming down

” Just wondering” he replied naughtily

” Silly you” she said and smiled

“You’re so pretty, very much that I ask myself that..is this really my girlfriend?, Apart from your craziness, I love everything else..wait what am I even saying…I love your craziness too baby” he said

” Really?” She said

” Sure, it’s allowed, crazy girlfriends are the best” he said

” I just blushed” she replied, covering her face with her palm

He stood and went to her, he sat on the table in front of her and held her cheeks, she took her palm off her face

He leaned in to kiss her but the lunch over alarm sounded

She spranged up and ran down the stairs

“Meet me in class!!!” She shouted

Rex smiled and touched his lips

” Close” he said

Night**

Erica is on her way to the place Nelson choose for the reading, she’s smiling brightly and obviously can’t wait to get there

It’s the science lab

Few meters away from there, Mickey appeared

“Mick?” She said

He smiled and came closer

“Yeah it’s me, where to?” He asked

“I’m going to read in the lab” she said

” Then let’s do it together” he replied

” No..I mean..I prefer …. Reading alone” she replied

” Why?”

” Nothing” she replied

” But you read with Nelson in the library on Saturday, why are you now saying this?” He asked

” Maybe I changed my mind, I’m off” she said and made to go but he grabbed her hand and drew her back, he hit her back on the hallway pillar

“What are you doing?” Erica said, trying to break free but it’s not that easy

He started leaning in and she took in her lips when she sensed what he’s about to do

Someone suddenly came from nowhere and pushed him away from her

Mickey staggered and almost fell

“What do you think you’re doing?” Nelson asked

“Why are you always interfering?” Mickey said

” Cos she’s my friend , and new reading partner” Nelson said

Mickey smirked before walking away

Nelson faced Erica swiftly

“Are you ok?, He didn’t do anything stupid right?, Huh?” He asked with concern allover his face….
