She let go of Huo Shidu’s sleeve and her gaze shifted elsewhere. “I can’t even fight?”

Somehow, Pei Yunge felt that Huo Shidu had found out that she was afraid of the dark.

However, before Pei Yunge could think too much, the man beside her reached out and messed up her hair playfully.

“You can, but Older Brother will be worried.”

Pei Yunge, whose hair was messy, was speechless.

The man’s low and pleasant voice rolled along as his Adam’s apple moved.

Huo Shidu could see that Pei Yunge was very concerned about Old Master Qin. A person who could make her come out in the middle of the night and fight secretly obviously made the little girl very unhappy.

Pei Yunge had just received a call from her form teacher asking about her. After applying for leave, she went to the hospital.

However, she did not expect to see Zhong Shenglin chatting with the Old Master the moment she opened the door.

“Ge’er? Why are you here so early?”

The Old Master’s eyes lit up as his tone became gentler.

Pei Yunge nodded and placed the small portion of porridge she had prepared on the table. “Grandpa, have you eaten?”

“Not yet.”

The Old Master said happily. However, when Zhong Shenglin heard this, he silently glanced at the porridge box that the Old Master had thrown in the rubbish bin.

“Grandpa, try it. This porridge tastes pretty good.”

Pei Yunge opened the porridge box for the Old Master and passed the chopsticks over.

Then, she looked towards Zhong Shenglin.

“Mr Zhong, why are you here?”

“I’ve been here for a long time.” Zhong Shenglin’s eyes were filled with resentment.

It had to be said that Zhong Shenglin felt bitter in his heart.

If he had such a granddaughter, he would already be doting on her crazily. How could he bear to let her buy food for him?
