UNRIVALLED GOD OF WAR - Season 1 Episode 86
At night, Nathan and Penny were playing games with Queenie when Penny suddenly received a call from Lulu.
“Penny, I can’t believe that you’ve started your own company, became the CEO, even getting your hands on one of the city’s most important projects! And yet you were pretending to be poor by eating cheap fast food? How could you trick your old friend in such a way?” Lulu berated.
Penny laughed wryly, “Lulu, you’ve misunderstood. My company just started out and is still very green. There’s still a long way to go.”
“Also, the company has plenty of debt to be paid off. I wasn’t pretending to be poor, nor was I trying to trick you.”
Lulu laughed, “Alright, I was only joking around with you.”
“Oh right! There’s a Channing alumni gathering at the Empire Hotel tomorrow night. A lot of our fellow schoolmates will be there. You must join us!”
Penny froze. She was not accustomed to joining these type of alumni gatherings and so she automatically rejected it. “I don’t know if I have the time…”
Lulu quickly jumped in, “The gathering is at night, not during the day. Why wouldn’t you be free? Unless you’re looking down on us poor people because you’ve hit the jackpot.”
Penny quickly denied it, “Of course not!”
“Then that’s settled. Remember, it’s tomorrow night at nine, at the Empire Hotel. Don’t be late!” Lulu smiled before hanging up quickly, not allowing Penny another chance to reject the invitation.
Nathan saw Penny’s look of defeat. “What’s wrong?”
“It was Lulu McDonald, the girl from yesterday. She’s said that there’s an alumni gathering tomorrow night and insists that I join. And if I don’t, then apparently I’m looking down on the rest of them,” answered Penny resignedly.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up, as she looked to Nathan expectantly, “Why don’t you go with me tomorrow night?”
“It’s your alumni gathering. Would it be appropriate for me to go?” Nathan asked.
“You’re my husband. What’s so inappropriate about going together?” Penny answered in return.
Nathan was usually disinterested in these type of social gatherings, but since it was Penny asking, he agreed. “Alright, I’ll go with you tomorrow night.”
…
The next night, Nathan and Penny drove their BMW M760 to the Empire Hotel to attend the Channing alumni gathering.
The huge Peony Hall was lit up magnificently.
A champagne tower could be seen, as well as a professional band that was performing light, relaxing music.
Hundreds of beautifully dressed men and women were standing around in groups of two or three, holding either a glass of champagne or red wine in their hands whilst making conversation.

Out of everyone there, the most eye-catching was a good-looking man wearing a white suit with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose.
It was none other than their Student Council President and the third son of the Logans of Alberesque — Felix Logan.
Lulu McDonald and a bunch other men and women had surrounded him, busy brown-nosing him.
“Felix Logan! You truly are the pride of us Channing alumni!”
“How dare you call him Felix Logan! It’s Mr. Felix or Mr. Logan to you!”
“Haha! Mr. Felix, I have a cousin that has recently returned from abroad. She’s really pretty. How about I give you her number later? The two of you can get to know each other.”
Lulu quickly interrupted when she saw that someone was trying to introduce a girl to Felix. “Stop it, John Caulkin! Mr. Felix already has his eye set on someone and it’s one of our alumni! So forget it with your cousin!”
Everyone looked surprised when they heard Lulu’s words. They wondered which schoolmate of theirs was so lucky, as to attract Felix Logan’s interest.
Felix did not answer their questions immediately. Instead, he offered a small smile and asked, “Oh right, why haven’t I seen Penny Smith tonight?”
