- Season 2 Episode 70 - Do You Really Think That Lucian Is An Idiot?
“Eileen, what are you doing?” Dixie asked.
Dixie immediately pushed her to the side, not wanting to involve her daughter in her own troubles.
“I’m not leaving, mom,” Eileen cried, hugging Dixie tightly. “I’ve heard about what has happened these past few days. Dad not only divorced you, but he also took away all of your property. You’ve always been the one who protected me before, and now it’s my turn to protect you.”
Hearing her daughter’s words, Dixie couldn’t help but let tears stream down her face.
Dixie had experienced many hardships being abandoned by the Creeks, betrayed by the Robertsons, abused by her own son, and humiliated. She felt the weight of being a woman, as she had lost everything she once had.
But now, with her daughter by her side, she realized that she hadn’t been completely abandoned by the world.
She still had her daughter! A daughter who was willing to sacrifice her life for her.
“Eileen Robertson! Are you really willing to risk your life for that woman?” Francis growled, shocked that his daughter would protect Dixie.
“You better shut up!” Eileen snapped back. “She’s not just some woman, she’s my mother. She’s the person who gave me life! If you want to harm her, you’ll have to go through me first. And if you do, the whole world will know that Francis Robertson, the heir of the Robertson family, is the despicable murderer of his wife and daughter! The entire family will be scorned by many, many people.”
*Slap!*
Francis became furious and slapped Eileen across the face.
It was a powerful slap.
Blood appeared at the corner of Eileen’s mouth, and her eyes darkened. Despite facing her enraged father, Eileen remained determined to protect her mother. This touched Eileen deeply, causing her tears to flow even more.
“Are you an idiot, Eileen? Is it worth it for that woman?” Hughie sighed. “Just leave her. We’re about to become an ultra-first- line empire, and then we can live as luxuriously as we want! Isn’t that better?”
“Get lost, Hughie!” Eileen glared at her brother and said with a gloomy face. “Anyone can scold our mother in this world, but the two of us don’t have that right. It’s because of her that we have this life. She gave you life, so it’s not up to you to bully her like this.”
Everyone could see the disappointment in Eileen’s eyes. She was incredibly disappointed in her brother.
However, when Hughie heard her words, he laughed disdainfully and didn’t say anything more. To him, it was all nonsense. If Eileen wanted to protect that woman, so be it.
To him, Dixie had no right to be his mother.
“I’ll give you two options, Eileen,” Francis said coldly.
“Option one, stand on your father’s side honestly and cut off your relationship with Dixie. I’ll forget everything that just happened.”
“Option two, if you continue to protect her, you will have nothing to do with the Robertson family from now on.”
“Think carefully. We’re about to become one of the three ultra-first-line families in this city, and members of the Chamber. It’s something most people can only dream of. Are you seriously going to throw away all these great opportunities for some lowly woman and an abandoned son?”
Francis stared at Eileen, waiting for her response.
Then, he continued, “Eileen, my dear, didn’t you want to study abroad? I promise you, if you abandon Dixie, I’ll give you 10 million dollars to study wherever you want. And when you come back, I’ll gift you a company worth 50 million dollars, and you’ll have complete control over it. Standing by my side is definitely better than what your mother, who has nothing, can offer you.”
If it were anyone else, they would likely choose the first option without hesitation.
Setting aside the Robertsons’ soon-to-be status in Sioux City, the conditions Francis proposed would be difficult for many to refuse. After all, if Eileen chose Dixie’s side, she would lose everything, and she might even lose her life.
Lucian couldn’t speak. He could only stare at Eileen, wondering what she would choose.
“Eileen, my dear, follow your father. You can have a better life if you do,” Dixie said, pushing her daughter gently. Deep down, she knew she couldn’t offer much to her daughter. Is there any mother in the world who doesn’t want their children to live happy lives?
“What are you saying, mom?” Eileen reached out and embraced Dixie. She turned to Lance and Francis, her face filled with scorn. “Even if you gave me mountains of gold and silver, I would never leave my mother. I’d rather beg for food with her than live alongside cruel people like all of you.”
“Eileen…” Dixie burst into tears of joy.
She had once believed she had lost everything.
But now she knew that wasn’t true. She still had a daughter who would give up everything for her.
Silence filled the room.
Everyone was stunned. They never expected Eileen to easily give up so many temptations and choose Dixie and Lucian’s side. How foolish of her!
Dixie had nothing to her name!
And Lucian was an orphan without a home.
What could the two of them possibly offer compared to the Robertsons?
“This is madness!” Francis snarled. He glared at Eileen and said, “For now, I’ll let you go. After four days, you’ll realize how foolish your decision is.”
“You should be careful, Eileen,” Lucian warned.
Lucian gave Eileen a reassuring thumbs up. “I promise you won’t regret your decision. Whatever the Robertsons have now, it will belong to you and Aunt Dixie in the future.”
Laughter filled the room, especially from Francis. It seemed like he had heard the funniest joke ever told. He looked at Lucian with disdain, as if he were insignificant compared to the powerful Robertson family. How could he possibly challenge them?
Lucian’s support system had been Completely dismantled by them.
What did he have left now?
“Lucian, now that you don’t even have Tyler and the others to help you, what can you possibly do to stop us?” Francis sneered.
“So, you’re admitting that you were the ones who took them away?” Lucian countered.
“That’s right. It was us,” Francis admitted without hesitation. “But don’t worry, I won’t harm them. They’re in a safe place. I’ll release them once you’re dead.”
Lucian nodded slightly, relieved that Tyler and the others were safe. He raised Dis head and calmly said to Francis, “Enjoy what little time you have left. In five days, you will lose everything. I will shatter all your hopes and dreams.”
They laughed as if it were another hilarious joke, their bodies swaying back and forth.
Meanwhile, Eileen looked at Lucian coldly. She couldn’t believe his words either. “Let’s go, Mom.”
She held onto Dixie’s arm and left the Robertson Mansion. From the moment she stepped out of the house, she knew she was no longer the privileged daughter of the Robertson family. However, she had no regrets. Being by her mother’s side brought her pure happiness.
“I’ll be waiting for you, you little brat. You better come back in four days,” Hughie taunted.
“And by then, you’ll watch as we become a top-tier family, powerless to stop it. And you, Eileen, will regret your decision to stand with them,” Hughie added sarcastically.
Hughie watched as Lucian left the house, his words dripping with sarcasm.
After Lucian, Dixie, and Eileen departed, Francis had an idea. He went to the mansion’s backyard and found Tyler the Iron Fist, the Grim Reapers, and Prince Ezekiel all tied up on a bed.
Following Mr. Theodore’s instructions from the Chamber, the four of them had been kidnapped but not harmed. Ironically, they were even being cared for by three servants who provided them with good food.
“Tyler the Iron Fist, the Grim Reapers, Prince Ezekiel, you all know why we brought you here, right?” Francis asked, crossing his legs and holding a cigarette in his mouth.
Tyler sneered coldly. “It’s because of our association with Lucian Gray, isn’t it?”
“Oh, how I enjoy conversing with intelligent people,” Francis replied, blowing smoke from his mouth. “And you should also know that the Robertsons are now members of the Chamber, right? I’ll give you a choice. In four days, you will come to the celebration with me and help me eliminate Lucian Gray. Then, I’ll allow you to join the Robertson empire and give you all the wealth you desire. Isn’t that much better than sticking with an idiot?” “Haha, do you really think Lucian is an idiot?”
Prince Ezekiel responded with a cold smile.
