- Season 2 Episode 69 - This Generation Is Shameless!
Dixie was forcefully pushed aside by Lance, causing her to stumble back. Fortunately, Lucian was there to catch her and support her.
Dixie’s eyes were filled with shock and disbelief. She couldn’t comprehend how Lance could speak to her in such a hurtful manner and push her away, completely devoid of the warmth he once showed her.
“Dad, I have been your daughter-in-law for so many years. I have even given birth to your grandchildren. Is this how you treat me?” Dixie said, her voice filled with heartbreak.
“Hmph…”
Matilda, who was standing beside Lance, interjected, “Who forced you to have children? You were the one who willingly chose to do so! Besides, you little b*tch, it is a blessing for you to be able to continue the Robertson family line. Don’t be ungrateful.”
“So, you better keep your mouth shut, Dixie…”
At that moment, Hughie entered the room and added with disdain, “Don’t ever claim that you gave birth to me! I am humiliated to be your son. From now on we are no longer mother and son. If you dare to call me your son again, I will kill you!”
“???” Lucian’s eyes widened upon hearing Hughie’s words. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
How cruel was that?
After all, the Robertson siblings were despicable, so it wasn’t surprising that their parents were no different.
And the children they had raised… it was clear that they had inherited their parents’ traits.
What a disgraceful family!
Hughie cutting off his own mother like that…
It was a devastating blow for Dixie. She felt immense pain in her heart, leaving her paralyzed in Lucian’s arms. She looked at Hughie with despair. Never in a million years would she have expected him to speak to her in such a way.
The Creeks had disowned her!
Her own son had disowned her!
What did she have left in this world?
“Don’t listen to their nonsense, Aunt Dixie,” Lucian couldn’t bear to see her hurt like this and pulled her behind him to protect her. “I came here to find someone. I’ll give you one more chance.
Let them go,” he said with a somber expression.
“We don’t have the people you’re looking for,” Francis replied dismissively.
“If you didn’t take them, then how did they disappear without a trace?” Dixie couldn’t help but ask.
“Haha, of course, I won’t help you guys out. You’ll have to find them on your own.”
Francis took a puff of his cigarette and blew out a smoke ring. With an arrogant smirk, he patted his chest and said, “You should know that we’re about to become the wealthiest family around. We’ve even joined the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce. Tyler and the others wouldn’t dare to provoke us.”
“What did you say, son?”
“We joined the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce?”
Lance was unaware of this. It was the first time he had heard about it, and his excitement caused his body to tremble.
“Dad, the Chamber personally invited us to join them yesterday! I forgot to tell you!” Francis replied proudly.
“That’s fantastic news! The Robertsons’ reign is imminent!” Lance was overjoyed. “When I was in charge of our family, we barely reached the level of first-tier wealth. I never imagined that under your leadership, we would not only become an ultra-first-tier family, but also join the chamber! You have shown great promise, son. You have surpassed my success. Your generation is much stronger than mine!”
“Stronger?”
“I would say more shameless,” Lucian said unabashedly.
Lance turned to look at Lucian, feeling a sense of familiarity. Before he could speak, Francis chimed in, “Dad, this little b*stard is Lucian Gray, the son of Alexander Gray.”
Lance’s face filled with shock as he looked Lucian up and down. He couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Alexander Gray was quite renowned back then. It’s baffling to see that the son he fathered is nothing but a worthless person who relies on women to survive. But I must give you credit. If it weren’t for you, Dixie wouldn’t have had the wealth to give to the Robertsons. Out of respect for your father, I won’t lay a finger on you. Now, get lost.”
“My father still owns half of Aunt Dixie’s company, which means that half of the property she signed over to you under the contract is also mine. I hope you will return it to me as soon as possible,” Lucian said, his gaze fixed on Lance.
One sentence awakened the foolish daydreamers.
Suddenly, all the Robertsons remembered how Alexander Gray and Dixie had started their business together. Dixie’s jewelry company still had half of Alexander’s shares. Naturally, as Alexander’s heir, Lucian would inherit those shares.
From a legal standpoint, as long as Lucian didn’t sign an agreement, the Robertsons had no right to claim all of Dixie’s property.
Silence filled the room…
In the next moment, Lance turned his gaze towards Lucian with a menacing aura and said, “You’re not wrong. You do own half of Dixie’s property. But what if… you were to die? Who would these assets belong to then?”
The atmosphere in the room shifted after that statement.
Dixie felt Lance’s threat and immediately stood in front of Lucian. “What are you trying to say, Lance?!” she said angrily.
“What am *I* trying to do?
“This little troublemaker just reminded me that if he doesn’t sign the agreement, our family, the Robertsons, may not have the opportunity to become a highly successful and influential dynasty. Therefore, in order to alleviate our situation, the only option I have is to make him disappear from existence,” Lance replied with great cruelty.
“As if you could do anything to us!” Lucian smirked coldly.
Then, Francis clapped his hands, and approximately ten men holding machetes entered the mansion, blocking all of the exits. These individuals were hired thugs by the Robertsons, and they appeared to be highly skilled fighters.
“Grandpa, Dad, kill him,” Hughie said indignantly, rubbing the bruise on his face. “That jerk hit me yesterday and forced me to beg for forgiveness from that woman. You need to kill him to avenge me.”
Dixie became pale with fear. “No, don’t you dare lay a finger on Lucian,” she gritted her teeth and protected him.
“A*ww, are you trying to protect your little lover?”
Francis’ expression turned stern. “Fine, we won’t kill him. Just make sure he signs the agreement.”
“Lucian, just give them the assets. Let’s stop fighting them,” Dixie pleaded, holding onto Lucian’s forearm with a distressed expression. “Now that the Robertsons have the support of the Chamber, we won’t be able to oppose them. Let’s live quietly and avoid any further conflicts.”
After enduring so many hardships, Dixie was completely exhausted. She no longer had the optimism to continue fighting.
She truly didn’t want Lucian to get into more trouble.
She knew that without Tyler and the others, they had no power to stand against the Robertsons and the Chamber!
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. As long as I’m still here, the Robertsons will never become a highly successful dynasty!”
“And even if they have the support of the Chamber, it won’t change anything. I stand by my words,” Lucian declared with determination.
“Hahaha!” Everyone burst into laughter upon hearing Lucian’s words.
In Sioux, the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce held all the power. No one could defy the Chamber’s desires.
It was a joke for Lucian to have such ambitious goals of opposing them.
“Do it. Kill that troublemaker,” Lance insisted on murdering Lucian today.
The thugs with machetes obeyed and rushed towards Lucian and Dixie without hesitation.
Lucian shielded Dixie behind him to protect her.
“Do not… hurt my mother.”
Someone shouted from outside the hall.
A girl rushed into the room.
It was Eileen Robertson. She approached Dixie with a panicked expression and stood in front of her mother. She glared angrily at the thugs and said, “Anyone who dares to touch my mother, even a single strand of her hair, will not live to see another day.”
The daughter of the family had spoken! The thugs halted in their tracks, none of them daring to proceed any further.
“Eileen, what are you doing?!” Francis saw her and yelled. “Come back here immediately!”
“Are you out of your mind? Come back here, this has nothing to do with you!”
Hughie also shouted.
“You can’t treat my own mother like this If you want to kill her, then you’ll have to kill me first. After all, she’s the one who gave me life!” Eileen shook her head vigorously, tears filling her eyes.
