- Season 2 Episode 66 - The Robertson Family's Revenge
“Is the Robertson family being recruited by the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce?” Lucian asked Freya, his curiosity piqued.
“Yes, the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce is looking for new talent. Initially, they were interested in the Gray family, but now they have turned their attention to the thriving Robertson family,” Freya explained to Lucian.
“I don’t care who is behind this. I am determined to reclaim what rightfully belongs to my father,” Lucian declared with unwavering resolve. His expression turned serious as he continued, “It’s a promise I made to my father, and I must fulfill it.”
“But…” Freya began, her concern evident in her voice.
“Don’t worry, Freya,” Lucian reassured her, his tone resolute. “I know you’re worried about me, but there are things I must do. They have taken away the wealth that my father worked so hard to build. If I don’t seek justice and reclaim what is rightfully his, I won’t find peace in my heart.”
His conviction resonated strongly, evident in both his words and his eyes. After hesitating for a moment, Freya nodded earnestly and affirmed, “Lucian, I will stand by your side. We will reclaim everything Dad worked for. I know it won’t be easy, but I promise to support you every step of the way.”
“Thank you,” Lucian could feel Freya’s sincerity and hugged her.
Frank and Annie exchanged a glance, sighing inwardly. All they wanted was a simple and ordinary life for Lucian, Freya, and Minnie. They did not want Lucian to constantly put himself in danger. However, Freya had made her decision, and there was little they could do about it.
Only the two of them could do it.
As Lucian and Freya were occupied, they could only focus on taking care of Minnie.
Sitting next to Dixie, Lucian’s expression grew serious as he spoke, “Aunt Dixie, please don’t worry. I promise you that with me around, the Robertson family won’t rise to prominence. I will work tirelessly to reclaim everything they have taken from you.”
Although Dixie was aware of the immense challenges ahead and knew that Lucian might not succeed, she did not discourage him. Instead, she mustered a faint smile and replied, “Lucian, your determination warms my heart. Your father would have been incredibly proud of you.”
Meanwhile, at the Robertson Manor…
As Hughie stormed into the manor, he immediately sought out his father, Francis, exclaiming urgently, “Dad, something has gone terribly wrong!”
Francis was in the middle of a conversation with Dax when he heard his son’s outburst. He frowned and said, “Can you not cause a commotion? I’m in the middle of a discussion here. Can’t you see we have guests?”
Standing at the doorway, Hughie’s eyes fell on the guest from the third-tier Harrison family who was present. His initial impression of the guests seemed dismissive, as if he did not hold them in high regard. Turning to his father, he rubbed his bruises and said, “Dad, look what happened to me.”
Instantly concerned by the sight of his son’s injuries, Francis stood up and asked, “What happened?”
“Lucian hit me,” Hughie continued, his frustration evident. “I sent an invitation to that woman, Dixie, and not only did Lucian assault me, he even forced me to kneel and apologize to her…”
Hughie recounted the humiliating events that had taken place.
Enraged, Hughie vented his anger. “Why should you kneel to Dixie? What right does she have? Lucian is nothing but a reject from the Gray family. How dare he lay his hands on my son? He has no boundaries!”
The Gray family’s position in Sioux had been replaced by the Robertson family, and Lucian was merely an outcast from that family. Despite this, he had the audacity to assault Hughie. How bold of him.
Who gave him the audacity to do so?
When Dax heard about it, he nearly choked on his tea. Setting his cup aside, he said to Francis urgently, “Mr. Francis, I’m here to discuss something about Lucian.”
Before that, Dax had been struggling to find the right way to talk about this situation with Francis, but the recent incident involving Hughie’s encounter with Lucian provided him with the perfect opening.
“Spit it out,” Francis commanded tersely, preferring to get straight to the point.
Dax immediately said, “I know why Lucian dared to confront Mr. Hughie so boldly. Despite his lack of wealth and connections, he spent seven years as a soldier and gained remarkable combat skills. He has also formed close bonds with Prince Ezekiel and the Grim Reapers, with Tyler recognizing him as their leader. This newfound recognition has boosted Lucian’s confidence.”
Tyler…
The mention of Tyler’s name brought a tight frown to Francis’s face. He did not expect that Tyler, a significant figure in Sioux, would acknowledge Lucian in such a way. It was completely beyond his expectations.
“I see…” Francis muttered with a mixture of anger and frustration. “So that’s the reason he dared to harm my son. He is supported by influential figures. However, does he believe that Tyler’s support allows him to act without consequences? In Sioux, the only real authority is the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce. Tyler is nothing more than an ant compared to them.”
Hearing what Francis said, Dax knew that his mission had been accomplished. All that was left was for Francis to take the next step and invite the power of the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce to deal with Lucian.
To Dax, it seemed that even if Lucian had multiple lives, they would not be enough to go against the might of the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce.
“Mr. Francis, I will take my leave now,” Dax announced, rising from his seat and offering a respectful bow.
“Wait a moment,” Francis interjected, fixing his gaze on Dax. He asked with a smile, “Dax, I’m curious as to why you have suddenly come to me with this information. What is your purpose?”
Dax revealed, “Lucian crippled the legs of my two grandsons. I want him dead, but the Harrison family lacks the strength to eliminate him. However, I have come to realize that Lucian helped Dixie confront you. So, in a way, our interests align…” He left the rest unsaid, confident that Francis would understand.
“Hehehe…”
Francis lit a cigarette and smiled grimly. He waved his hand dismissively, telling Dax, “You can go home and wait for the news of Lucian’s death. This overconfident brat dared to provoke me. He clearly doesn’t understand the consequences of his actions.”
As Dax departed, Hughie suddenly recalled something crucial and spoke up, “Dad, there’s something else. Lucian asked me to pass on a message. He said that as long as he’s around, the Robertson family won’t achieve an elite status. He also mentioned that in five days, he’ll accompany Dixie to our family’s event.”
“That insolent child…”
Francis’s hand slammed down on the table with such force that Hughie flinched, instantly silencing him under his father’s furious demeanor. In front of his father, Hughie knew to tread carefully.
“With Tyler, Prince Ezekiel, and the Grim Reapers supporting him, how could he possibly hinder the Robertson family?” Francis’s anger was palpable, his smirk a blend of arrogance and disdain. “If that’s the case, I’ll find a way to sabotage his plans. Let’s see how he dares to bring Dixie and meddle in the Robertson family’s affairs in five days.”
“Dad, you have to take him down. That wretched boy laid his hands on me, the audacity!” Hughie’s anger surged anew as he recalled the humiliation he had endured tonight.
“I’ll help you seek revenge. Now leave,” Francis ordered, waving Hughie out of the living room.
Once alone, Francis hesitated briefly before retrieving his phone. He dialed a number and contacted the Sun Moon Chamber of Commerce.
Although the Robertson family had yet to achieve elite status, it was only a matter of time. The Chamber of Commerce had recognized the potential of the Robertson family’s numerous industries and had extended an offer to join forces, promising to elevate the Robertson family to an elite status.
This mutually beneficial relationship was based on the Chamber’s interest in the Robertson family’s wealth and the family’s desire for the Chamber’s protection and support.
Francis knew well that the Chamber did not value the family itself, but rather its assets. Additionally, the Robertson family also valued being under the umbrella of the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce. The alliance served the interests of both parties and seemed like a natural course of action.
“Hello…” A somber voice responded from the other end of the line.
“Mr. Theodore, I need your assistance.” Francis got straight to the point.
“Go on!” The other party cut to the chase.
“You oversee the Sun Moon Chamber of Commerce’s underground operations. I require your help in dealing with Tyler, Prince Ezekiel, and the Grim Reapers. Can you do this for me?” Francis inquired.
“You want them eliminated?” The question was delivered in an indifferent

tone.
“Although the three of them hold little influence in my eyes, I still need them to maintain certain things. So, don’t kill them,” Francis explained.
“Don’t kill them. Just detain them until the Robertson family’s ceremony is over.”
“Very well.” With that, Mr. Theodore concluded the conversation and hung up. Francis placed the phone down, lighting a cigarette as a faint, sinister smile crept onto his face. “A mere little brat dares to challenge me. Without Tyler and the others backing you up, let’s see how much trouble you can cause.”
