Unrivaled Warrior by Ashley Grey - Season 2 Episode 65
All eyes turned towards the door.
Dixie’s heart ached upon hearing her son’s words. She never expected her son to speak to her with such disrespect.
Shameless woman… How could someone say that to their own mother?
“Who are you?” Lucian asked, blocking the door.
“Hughie Robertson,” the young man replied.
From his surname and appearance, it was clear that he had a connection to Dixie.
“And who is Dixie to you?” Lucian continued to probe.
“My mom!” Hughie answered without hesitation.
The reply left Lucian momentarily speechless. It was infuriating that a son would address his mother in such a disrespectful manner.
“Get lost,” Lucian’s voice grew angrier.
“You’re telling me to get lost?” Hughie’s tone turned confrontational. “Are you Alexander’s son? Let me tell you, don’t mess with me. You’re a fatherless brat. We’re not on the same level. I came here to see Dixie, and it has nothing to do with you.”
“Tsk… Tsk…”
Lucian’s fists clenched even tighter, his anger bubbling under the surface as he spoke, “Watch your words, or else…”
“Or else what?” Hughie interrupted mockingly.
“Dare to lay a finger on me, and the Robertson family won’t let you off the hook,” Lucian retorted.
Hughie was riding high on his family’s soon-to-be status as an elite family, and he viewed himself as a major player in Sioux. To him, what was a discarded son of the Gray family to him?
Lucian was so furious that he was speechless.
“Dixie, come out,” Hughie yelled, impatient and dismissive.
“Let him in, Lucian,” Dixie’s voice sounded from within the house.
Suppressing his frustration, Lucian stepped aside to allow Hughie to enter.
As Hughie walked around the villa, he shot looks of disdain and mockery. Eventually, he walked towards Dixie, took out an invitation letter, and tossed it into her arms. He coldly said, “This is the invitation letter. You’re supposed to attend the Robertson family’s ceremony in five days. Don’t forget.”
“You don’t actually want me to come, do you?” Dixie’s voice carried a tinge of sadness as she raised her gaze to meet her son’s.
Hughie sneered, crossing his arms over his chest, and replied, “If my dad didn’t insist that I deliver this invitation to you, do you think I’d come to you, a shameless woman?”
Freya slammed her cutlery onto the table, her tone sharp as she said to Hughie, “No matter what Aunt Dixie did, she’s the one who brought you into this world. You should show some respect when you speak to your mother.”
“Who do you think you are?” Hughie’s gaze sharpened as he looked at Freya, his voice dripping with disdain. “Do you think you have the right to meddle in my affairs? Am I mistaken? Why did my dad divorce her? Wasn’t it because she was shameless, fooling around with random men? I don’t have such a mother.”
“Son, I haven’t done anything wrong,” Dixie sobbed, her voice heavy with sadness.
Dixie was no longer the powerful woman in the business world she used to be. Now, she was just a woman abandoned by her family, betrayed by her husband, and rejected by her own son.
“Don’t call me your son.”
“The moment you divorced my dad, you were no longer my mother.”
“Go on and find your wild man, and never say that you’re my mother again, got it?”
Hughie grabbed Dixie’s collar, anger coloring his tone.
“Presumptuous…”
Witnessing Hughie’s aggression, Lucian’s anger surged, and he shouted, rushing forward.
“Why, are you going to hit me?” Hughie turned to glare at Lucian, taunting, “What are you all? How dare you shout at me? In five days, the Robertson family will ascend to an elite family. And you? All of you are just some poor people living in a shabby place.”
In his eyes, the villa where Lucian’s family lived was no better than a pigsty.
“I couldn’t care less about whatever the Robertson family is becoming in five days. Right now, you’ll kneel and apologize to your mother.”
Lucian’s eyes were ablaze, his body trembling with fury.
“Apologize to this wretched woman?”
Hughie treated the demand as a great joke, scoffing, “What a joke, she’s just a shameless woman. Who does she think she is to make me apologize? Don’t say she’s the one who brought me into this world. I’ll be the son of one of the most influential families, and she’s just a homeless wretch.”
Enraged, Lucian’s patience shattered. He slapped Hughie across the face, his expression dark as he pronounced, “Apologize to your mother right now. If you don’t, even if you’re Aunt Dixie’s son, I won’t hold back.”
“How dare you hit me?”
Hughie received a stinging slap across his face, his expression one of bewilderment as he gazed at Lucian. He quickly covered his face and erupted with a mix of anger and panic. “Lucian, you piece of trash! The Gray family has been replaced by the Robertson family now. The Gray family has moved to the countryside to work on farms. And you, what sort of lowly creature are you?”
“I don’t care what I am, I’m here to teach you a lesson, you ungrateful son,” Lucian retorted, his gaze fixed on Hughie.
“Why are you just standing there? Idiots! Deal with him, take him down!” Hughie yelled at his two bodyguards.
But as soon as the two guards charged at Lucian, they were beaten up, crashing to the ground and wailing in pain, unable to get up.
“Thump…”
Upon seeing this, Hughie’s heart raced as fear gripped him. He looked at Lucian with fear. He did not expect Lucian to be this powerful. Trembling, he stammered, “If you dare lay a hand on me, my dad won’t spare you.”
“Slap!”
Without any reservation, Lucian slapped Hughie’s face.
“Apologize to her,” Lucian’s slap was so powerful, it sent Hughie tumbling to the ground.
“Thud…”
The impact was heavy as Hughie sprawled on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. Yet, despite the injury, he remained obstinate. “Apologize to that woman? In your dreams!”
Lucian’s patience ran thin. “I’ll teach you a lesson you won’t forget!”
Lucian wrestled Hughie to the ground and slapped him profusely. Each slap left Huginie’s nose swollen and bleeding.
Dixie observed the scene with a heavy heart, feeling a strong urge to intervene. However, Freya and Tammy held her back, sharing her sentiment. They believed that such an ungrateful son needed to be taught a lesson.
Lucian had no intention of stopping and continued to beat up Hughie.
Dixie’s gaze remained fixed on the scene, a twinge of sorrow welling up within her. She wanted to intervene, but Freya and Tammy held her back, knowing that it was important to teach such an ungrateful son a lesson.
Amidst the onslaught, Hughie finally cried out, his voice strained and broken. “I’m sorry! I’ll apologize! Just stop hitting me…”
Hughie attempted to defend himself, but Lucian beat him even more severely. Eventually, unable to bear it any longer, Hughie prepared to apologize to Dixie.
Lucian released Hughie and muttered to Dixie with dissatisfaction and resentment, “I’m sorry.”
“Thud!”
In one swift, powerful motion, Lucian kicked Hughie back to the ground, making his demand clear. “Apologize properly.”
Hughie rose to his feet, his gaze fixed on Dixie as he knelt before her. A mixture of loathing and regret flashed in his eyes as he uttered, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”
Dixie remained silent, tears streaming down her face. The depth of the divide between her and her son weighed heavily on her heart. The anguish of the situation was immeasurable. What a cruel turn their relationship had taken. “I’ll let you go this time.”
Lucian intervened, lifting Hughie from the ground. His tone was cold as he said, “Tell the Robertson family that Aunt Dixie and I will attend their event. But remember, as long as I’m here, the Robertson family will never achieve great wealth.”
“Alright, I want to see how you can stop the Robertson family!” Hughie retorted, his expression darkening.
“Leave,” Lucian commanded as he threw Hughie out of the villa.
With Hughie gone, Dixie collapsed onto the sofa and cried miserably. Everyone present remained silent, empathizing with Dixie’s emotional torment. The pain of a mother being disrespected by her son was a heavy burden to bear.
They allowed her to cry so that she could feel better.
Minutes later, Lucian took a seat beside Dixie, offering reassurance. “Aunt Dixie, I’ll seek revenge for you. Whether it’s the Robertson family or the Creek family, they will pay a heavy price.”
Dixie, however, protested, “No, you shouldn’t confront them!”
She shook her head with a heavy sigh, her tone resigned. “You’re not their enemy. I can’t bear the thought of anything happening to you. Perhaps this is fate. The Robertson family has been waiting for their moment, and now it has arrived.”
“Lucian, the merger of the Robertson and Creek families has brought immense power. And today, I learned that the Sun and Moon Chamber of Commerce failed to recruit any new talent last year. They are even considering inviting the Robertson family. You can’t stop them on your own.”
Freya understood how Lucian was feeling, but there were realities that he could not overcome alone.
