- Season 2 Episode 63 - He's Just A Retired Soldier
At the entrance of Iron Fist Gym, Tyler arrived with two companions, carrying extravagant gifts. He glanced back at his comrades and asked, “Are you sure about this? Why would someone as skilled as Mr. Gray visit such a humble boxing gym?”
“Yes, I saw Mr. Gray enter the gym,” one of his companions promptly confirmed.
“Hmm,” Tyler acknowledged with a slight nod.
Just as he was about to enter the gym with his companions to find Lucian, Eric came out with his friends. Spotting Tyler in person, Eric’s grin stretched from ear to ear. It was clear that Tyler highly valued his exceptional talent.
With Tyler’s support, success in Sioux was practically guaranteed. Eric’s thoughts drifted with satisfaction.
Hehe, that woman made a mistake by choosing an older man over me…
She rejected me before, and now she’s not worthy of me!
“Mr. Bright, what brings you here?” Eric hurriedly approached Tyler with his companions, addressing him as such. In the boxing realm of Sioux, seasoned individuals who were highly regarded were used to being respected by their fans. So, Eric’s address did not raise Tyler’s suspicions.
However, among Eric’s old classmates, an air of astonishment pervaded the group upon hearing Tyler address him as such.
Tyler really is Eric’s mentor.
Moreover, Tyler’s visit, accompanied by such extravagant gifts, meant that Eric was on the fast track to success.
“Mr. Bright, what happened to your face?”
Eric expressed concern as he noticed Tyler’s bruised nose and swollen face. “Mr. Bright, are you okay? What happened?”
“I’m fine, I was just in a boxing match with an expert,” Tyler responded, touching his face, ashamed to tell others that he had been violently beaten up.
“Oh, I see,” Eric nodded.
“Tammy must be regretting her choices now. She chose an unsuccessful older man while disregarding Eric’s persistent pursuit. And here’s Eric, who is Tyler’s apprentice and has a promising future,” someone commented.
“Eric even said he’s not going to pursue her anymore. She’s going to regret this for the rest of her life.”
“Considering Eric’s status, why would he chase someone like Tammy who’s past her prime? Does she even deserve his attention?”
They continued their discussions about Tammy behind Eric.
Although Tyler could barely make out their conversation, he did not know what was going on. He then turned to Eric and said, “Oh, you’re the owner of this gym, I want to go in and have a look.”
“Certainly!” Eric eagerly agreed, ushering Tyler into the gym.
As Tyler entered the gym, he looked around, hoping to find Lucian. Yet, despite searching everywhere for him, Lucian was nowhere to be found. Tyler ignored Eric’s presence the whole time.
“Eric, don’t just stand around. Go connect with Tyler and make him notice you!” Audrey advised.
Audrey knew full well that Eric was not Tyler’s apprentice as he had lied earlier. Nonetheless, this was a rare opportunity. By leaving a good impression on Tyler, Eric might succeed in becoming his apprentice.
“How do I approach him?”
Eric cast a nervous glance in Tyler’s direction and whispered, “I think he came here because he has something important to do.”
“Didn’t Lucian insult Tyler earlier? You can use that incident to your advantage and make a connection,” Audrey suggested after thinking.
Upon hearing Audrey’s suggestion, Eric’s eyes brightened. He nodded and approached Tyler. “Mr. Bright, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“What is it?” Tyler glanced at Eric, his voice carrying a cold edge.
“Some guy insulted you,” Eric blurted out, his tone charged with anger.
“Insulted me?” Tyler’s expression darkened as he inquired, “In what way?”
“He called you a failure, claimed that he beat you up until you were bruised, and boasted that he’d beat you up every time he saw you. He even threw a lot of insults at you…” Eric’s words flowed, but as Tyler’s expression grew dark, Eric quickly clarified, “That brat said it, not me, Mr. Bright.”
“Who is he?” Iron Fist queried.
“Lucian…
He’s just a retired soldier,” Eric answered through gritted teeth, frustration and anger evident in his voice. Lucian… Upon hearing that name, Tyler’s body trembled, and his eyes had a peculiar gleam. Suddenly, he was no longer angry. After all, Lucian was telling the truth; he had almost gotten himself killed at the Creek residence.
And now, he had come looking for Lucian and wanted to offer him gifts because he wanted to be Lucian’s follower.
Tyler was a person who admired strength and was willing to serve those who were stronger than him.
“Mr. Bright, Eric is right. Lucian insulted you. I mean, how could trash like him beat you up? You could defeat him with a single punch,”
“That’s right, Tyler wouldn’t lose to anyone, especially not when facing someone like Lucian.”

“Lucian’s still in the office, why don’t you teach him a lesson?”
Audrey led her former classmates, fueling the fire with enthusiasm, aiming to use Tyler’s methods to deal with Lucian.
“Let’s go.”
Tyler appeared calm on the outside, but on the inside, he was filled with excitement.
I’ve finally found Mr. Gray!
Meanwhile, Eric and the others thought that Lucian was going to be beaten up by Tyler.
“Mr. Bright, please follow me,” Eric politely gestured to Tyler, motioning for him to proceed to his office while Audrey and the others trailed behind.
“Tyler’s here, Lucian’s fate is sealed.”
“We should call 911, maybe they can save him if they arrive in time.”
“What do you mean we should call 911? We should call the crematorium instead, just in case. Can’t you see how angry Tyler is? Do you think Lucian will still be alive after that?”
As they discussed, the group followed Tyler to Eric’s office.
Concerned for Lucian’s safety, Tammy thought about easing the situation by saying something positive about him. However, when she saw Eric walking alongside Tyler, she shuddered and immediately closed the door.
“Lucian, this isn’t good. Eric brought Tyler in.”
“Don’t just sit there, Lucian. Think of something!”
Tammy’s distress was palpable, and her eyes reddened as tears threatened to spill.
Amidst the turmoil, Lucian remained composed. He calmly lit a cigarette, beckoning Tammy with a wave of his hand. “Don’t worry, Tammy. I assure you, if Tyler dares to lay a finger on me, I’ll make sure he regrets it.”
Tammy was speechless at Lucian’s response.
Isn’t he afraid of death?
“Lucian, could you please be more serious? Tyler is right outside. How can you still fool around?”
“Why don’t we escape through the window? I’m a woman, they won’t do anything to me.”
Tammy’s anxiety reached its peak, her cheeks turning red as she stood by the door.
“Boom…”
Tyler kicked the door open, causing Tammy to step back and eventually fall onto the sofa.
“Lucian, let’s see where you can hide now!”
Eric pointed towards Tyler, who was positioned right behind him, and shouted, “Mr. Bright is here now. Your time is up.”
“Eric, no!”
Realizing that the situation had gotten out of control, Tammy hurried to intervene and pleaded, “Eric, this is my fault. I shouldn’t have brought Lucian here. Please, don’t let Mr. Bright hurt him. The truth is, he isn’t…”
Before Tammy could finish her plea, Eric looked at her with a hint of cruelty and slapped her.
“You scoundrel, don’t touch me. You’re disgusting.”
“I’m not the same Eric I used to be. I won’t persistently pursue you anymore. You disgust me. Get lost.”
The slap caused Tammy’s face to instantly swell. Tears welled up in her eyes as she shielded her face, unable to say a word.
As Tammy endured the humiliating blow, her former classmates looked on, smirking and relishing in her misery.
When everyone around them saw Tammy being slapped, none of them stopped Eric. Instead, they gloated.
“Boom…”
Lucian erupted in fury, jumping off the sofa and snarling at Eric, “Eric, are you looking for trouble?”
“Mr. Bright, this guy disrespected you. Punish him,” Eric promptly turned to Tyler and said.
In the blink of an eye, Tyler walked towards Lucian. Before anyone could react, he dropped to one knee in front of Lucian, his fists clenched. He addressed Lucian, “Mr. Gray, I’ve finally found you. Please accept me as your follower…”
