The others nodded in agreement, silently urging Eric to showcase his wealth.

Eric found himself in a difficult situation. He had a bag of tea that cost tens of thousands of dollars per pound, but, as Lucian pointed out, the actual value was just a few thousand dollars per pound.

With the expenses of his boxing gym, he was not wealthy.

However, he needed to save himself from embarrassment.

With determination, Eric stood up and left the room. He withdrew $50,000 from the over $100,000 he had collected and went to the nearby premium tea store. He purchased a two-pound box of tea valued at $28,000 per pound, ultimately costing him $56,000.

“Well, this tea is rather delightful. Thank you, Eric, for your generous hospitality,” Lucian remarked with a smile after tasting the tea.

Eric’s smile was strained, concealing his internal anguish. He pretended to be polite and responded, “As long as you enjoy it. After all, these expenses mean little to me. However, for someone like you who once served in the military, it is rare for you to experience luxury. So, savor it while you can.”

“Of course, thank you,” Lucian replied, his grin unwavering.

“How shameless.”

Audrey’s disapproval of Lucian grew stronger as she continued to observe him. She sneered, “Indeed, these expenses are trivial for Eric. Do you know why Eric is hailed as a boxing prodigy? It’s because he has an exceptional mentor, Tyler. Have you heard of him?”

Everyone gasped when they heard this.

Eric glanced at Audrey and hinted at her. Tyler was his idol, and he watched Tyler’s match videos incessantly. His gym’s name, “Iron Fist,” was even derived from Tyler’s nickname, “Iron Fist.”

However, there was a glaring issue. While he knew Tyler quite well, Tyler did not know him at all.

Noting Tammy’s admiring eyes on him, Eric felt a surge of vanity. He cleared his throat and declared, “Yes, that’s right. I’m Tyler’s sole apprentice. I learned all my boxing techniques from Tyler. I intended to maintain a low profile, but since it’s no secret now, I won’t conceal it any longer.”

“Wow, Eric, that’s impressive.”

“I heard Tyler rarely takes on apprentices. You must be an exceptional talent for him to have chosen you.”

“No wonder we saw Tyler’s influence in your techniques. So, you’re Tyler’s apprentice.”

A cascade of praise and flattery erupted from the group.

Tammy, too, gave Eric a thumbs-up and spoke, “Eric, you’re truly impressive. Tyler’s reputation is widespread in Sioux. Keep up the hard work, and you’ll have a bright future.”

Meanwhile, Lucian’s yawn betrayed his boredom. The antics of this group of youngsters were close to making him laugh.

He had fought Tyler before.

“I know.”

“I beat him up so hard last night, his nose was bruised and his face swelled up. I wonder if he’s woken up by now.” Lucian sipped his tea casually.

After he spoke those words, everyone was dumbfounded and the office fell silent.

Is he out of his mind? Eric and Audrey exchanged bewildered glances. They had been boasting that Eric was Tyler’s apprentice, while Lucian claimed to have beaten up Tyler to the point of a bruised nose and swollen face. Was this even possible?

Tammy, too, was taken aback by Lucian’s claim.

Everyone’s lips twitched, a furrow creasing their foreheads, rendering them utterly speechless.

“Hahaha, this is too funny!”

In the silence, a male student burst into laughter, raising his head and laughing, “Tammy, your boyfriend isn’t just older; he’s also an overconfident braggart. With his physique, could he even withstand a single punch from Tyler? And to think he’s boasting about beating Tyler to a pulp, causing his nose to bruise and his face to swell up. If Tyler hears this, you wouldn’t even fathom the consequences.”

Tammy was utterly horrified.

She knew that if Tyler heard Lucian’s claim, he would undoubtedly be enraged, potentially leading to serious consequences. Hastily, she urged, “This is all just a joke. Please don’t tell Tyler about this.”

“Oh Tammy, I’m advising you, it’s dangerous for you to be with someone like him,” Audrey seized the opportunity to drive her point home. “We’re willing to help you cover this up. We’re old classmates after all. If this leaked to the public, how could you bear the shame? Let me be clear, you should break up with him. He’ll cause you trouble…”

“Slam!” Abruptly, Eric’s hand struck the table with a resounding slap. He stood up, pointing at Lucian, and roared, “You little punk, let me make this clear. Tyler is my master. How dare you slander my master like this? Are you looking for trouble?”

“I said what I said. What are you going to do about it?” Lucian responded nonchalantly, showing no regard for Eric’s display of anger.

Observing the situation take an unexpected turn, Tammy intervened hastily, pleading with Eric, “Eric, I’m sorry for all this. Please don’t tell your master about this. I beg you.”

Tammy truly believed that Tyler was Eric’s mentor.

Eric let out a contemptuous snort and addressed Tammy seriously, “Tammy, why are you dating this man? I must tell my master about this. I advise you to end your relationship with Lucian sooner rather than later. Otherwise, my master’s temper could put you in danger, and even your family could be affected. Think about this.”

“Eric, could you be more considerate?” Tammy was on the verge of tears because of Eric’s threats.

“Not.” Eric’s tone remained cold as he continued, “My master is very concerned about his reputation. If he discovers that I kept this incident a secret, he will not spare either of us. You need to end your relationship with Lucian.”

The others exchanged glances and began persuading Tammy to break up with Lucian.

After all, offending Tyler while being associated with Lucian would not end well.

“Lucian, let’s go now,” Tammy urged, grabbing Lucian’s arm in frustration.

However, at that moment, the office door swung open forcefully. A staff member of the boxing gym stood there, pale and trembling, announcing in shock, “Mr. Connor, the big man… Tyler is here. He has arrived at our gym with numerous gifts.”

“What?”

Eric jumped to his feet in astonishment, a look of disbelief on his face. He exclaimed, “Is Tyler here to celebrate the opening of my boxing gym?”

Considering it was the opening day of Iron Fist Gym, it was possible that Tyler had come intentionally.

Audrey, too, was taken aback and quickly stood up, suggesting, “Eric, you must hurry and meet your master. Make sure you tell him about what Lucian said to insult him. Let Tyler handle this ignorant man.”

“I will inform him.”

Eric found himself completely bewildered. From his perspective, this was an incredible stroke of luck. Tyler had personally visited his gym, presumably recognizing his exceptional talent. If this news spread, it would undoubtedly attract customers to his boxing gym.

Who wouldn’t want to send their children to a gym favored by Tyler himself?

“Eric, please don’t tell him about this.” Tammy’s panicked plea rang out.

“Hmph!” Eric retorted with a cold snort. “Actions have consequences, especially for adults. Take note, Tyler is here to commemorate the launch of my gym, despite my pursuit of you and your numerous rejections. I will no longer chase after you, foolish girl. Prepare to face the consequences.”

Eric’s excitement had reached its peak.
