These words plunged Eleanor into an abyss of ancient, bone-chilling darkness, causing her body to tremble uncontrollably.
“Lucian, this is a misunderstanding, it’s all just a misunderstanding!”
“We were only joking, Freya.”
Eleanor knelt on the ground, tears streaming down her face, as she tried to explain.
Their reasons sounded absurd, fueled by overwhelming fear.
Just joking?
Lucian couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
His laughter echoed loudly in the otherwise silent living room.
Everyone stared at Lucian, afraid to utter a word. They could sense his fury, knowing that any noise at this moment would enrage him and potentially cost them their lives.
Lucian had become unhinged.
Anyone who provoked him would meet their demise!
The once arrogant and domineering members of the Harrison family had turned into timid mice in the presence of Lucian alone.
“You all are truly heartless.”
Lucian gasped for breath, gripping Eleanor’s neck and lifting her off the ground. He roared, “Freya is your granddaughter, your own flesh and blood. Yet, you treat her this way over a minor project. Are you even human?”
Suffocating…
Eleanor felt a suffocating pressure. In a panic, she desperately tried to pry Lucian’s hands apart, but her strength was no match for his. She was helpless, left to await her impending death.
“Frank, stop him quickly.”
Dax pleaded anxiously, “Can you bear to watch your mother be killed by him? Do you still have a conscience? Let me tell you, if your mother dies at the hands of your son-in-law, it is treason, and you will be plagued by guilt for the rest of your life.”
Upon hearing these words, Frank’s face displayed a hint of confusion.
Everyone knew Frank was a dutiful son.
Although his parents hadn’t treated him well, he couldn’t bear to witness his parents being beaten to death by his son- in-law. Just as he was about to speak up, Annie pinched Frank’s waist hard.
Frank winced in pain, turning to look at the furious Annie, and immediately fell silent.
“You’re nothing but a spineless son, afraid of your wife!”
Dax couldn’t help but yell when he saw Frank cower under his wife’s gaze. “You heartless wretch, because your wife said a word, you’re willing to watch your mother be killed. How cruel can you be?”
Annie snorted coldly, ignoring Dax, and continued to prevent Frank from speaking to Dax.
Originally, Dax had hoped to use Frank to stop Lucian, but when he saw his plan fail, he glanced back at Orion. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. He knelt down in front of Lucian and said, “Lucian, it wasn’t us who made Freya look like this! It wasn’t us, it was Orion!”
Orion, who had been sitting nearby, was dumbfounded upon hearing this revelation.
He hadn’t expected Dax to betray him so easily.
Heartless wretch.
Orion cursed Dax vehemently in his mind. His biggest regret was coming to Sioux, a place of fate. Not only did he fail to obtain the poison prescription, but he also lost his lucky charm.
Was there anyone more pitiful than him in this world?
“What did you say?” Lucian narrowed his eyes and looked at Dax.
“It’s Orion!”
Dax pointed at Orion once again and revealed all the plans Orion had proposed before.
“Boom!” Lucian threw the barely conscious Eleanor to the ground, then turned to face Orion and said calmly, “Orion, it seems you no longer value your lucky charm, do you? Let me crush it.”
Lucian took out a small bottle from his pocket, containing a black poisonous centipede.
“No, please don’t crush it.”
Orion was terrified, kneeling on the ground and pleading desperately. Even as blood trickled down from his forehead, he made no move to stop Lucian. He continued, “Mr. Gray, I am a great sinner. I should never have harmed Miss Harrison. Please, spare me! I am willing to do anything for you.”
“I gave you a chance!”
Lucian’s eyes were devoid of emotion as he spoke coldly, “But you didn’t appreciate it.”
Seeing Lucian produce the poisonous centipede, not only Orion panicked, but the rest of the Harrison family did as well. Especially Felix and Calvin, whose legs were supported by the lucky charm.
If the centipede died, they would be crippled once again.
“Lucian, please don’t crush the centipede.”
The two of them knelt down and begged for mercy.
Aaron and Frank couldn’t bear to see their son become crippled. They too knelt on the ground, desperately pleading for mercy.
“Crack!!”
Faced with a group of people begging for mercy, Lucian showed no mercy and crushed the centipede into pieces.
“Puff!!!”
As the centipede died, Orion spat out a mouthful of black blood. His eyes grew dull, and his gaze widened. Before everyone’s eyes, his lifeless body slowly fell to the ground.
He was dead…
Orion, who had lived for over a hundred years, died because he involved himself in something he shouldn’t have.
In his final moments, he regretted his participation in this matter.
But there was no remedy for regret in this world.
Adults must face the consequences of their actions.
As Orion lost his life, another mournful scream filled the main room. Everyone quickly turned to look at Calvin and Felix, who were rolling on the ground, clutching their legs.
“Ah, ah, it hurts!”
The excruciating pain in their legs drove them to madness as they screamed in agony.
“Crack, click!”
The sound of bones breaking filled the air.
Their legs were broken once again.
“Son…”
The parents rushed forward in a panic, watching their sons suffer, but there was nothing they could do.
“Lucian, let’s go. I don’t want to see them anymore.”
Freya wrapped her arms around Lucian’s neck, her voice weak.
“Alright, let’s go!”
Lucian lifted Freya and turned to look at the members of the Harrison family with a murderous gaze. “I’ll spare you this time, but if any of you dare to disrupt Freya’s life again in the future, I will kill you!”
As he passed by Frank and Annie, Lucian said,
“Mom and Dad, let’s go.”
Mom and Dad… These two words filled Frank and Annie with shame. If it weren’t for them, Freya wouldn’t have gone through all of this. It could be said that they were all responsible for what happened.
“I’m sorry,” the two of them said guiltily.
But Lucian had already left Harrison’s place with Freya in his arms and didn’t hear their apology.
“Boo-hoo…”
As soon as they returned to the villa, the four of them heard a faint cry.
Minnie was crying in the living room, and no matter how Tammy tried to comfort her, she continued to cry.
“I don’t have parents anymore!”
Minnie lay on the sofa, crying uncontrollably.
Dad…
Hearing Minnie say those words, Lucian’s body trembled, and his cold eyes softened.
Freya noticed the change in Lucian’s eyes and smiled. She could tell that Lucian cared deeply about Minnie, and his eyes couldn’t deceive anyone.
“Minnie, Mom and Dad are back!”
Freya said softly.
Minnie’s body jolted, and she immediately looked up. Seeing her parents, grandparents, and great- grandparents all back, she cried even harder and threw herself into Freya’s arms, sobbing, “Mom, I thought I would never see you again.”
“That’s not true.”
Freya held Minnie tightly and said, “Mommy will always be with you. I’m sorry, baby, I made you worry.”
Lucian reached out to stroke Minnie’s head, wanting to hug her but hesitated.
“You jerk!”
In the next moment, Minnie threw herself into Lucian’s arms and shouted angrily, “Stinky Lucian, promise that you’ll never leave Minnie again. I was so worried about you, you jerk, boo-hoo.”
Hearing Minnie’s words, Lucian’s eyes welled up with tears. He squatted down and embraced Minnie.
“I promise, I’ll never leave you again.”
Lucian said with a trembling voice.
Seeing this scene, Frank and Annie exchanged happy glances.
“Brother-in-law, the Staleridge Warlord led so many people to block Sioux Peak. How did you come back unharmed?”
Tammy ran up to Lucian with curiosity written all over her face and asked.
This question instantly piqued Freya and the others’ curiosity. They had been in such a rush at Harrison’s that they hadn’t thought about this incident. How did Lucian survive the Staleridge Warlord’s vengeful attack?
Freya asked, “Lucian, what happened in Sioux City?”
