“But you know what, I have to thank that little scumbag, Lucian,” Francis said, stepping on Dixie and chuckling. “Since we got married, I have never seen you so flustered. It seems Lucian holds a special place in your heart. So, in his honor, I’ll arrange a grand funeral after he dies. Isn’t that thoughtful?”
“Francis, I won’t let you get away with this,” Dixie said viciously.
“You’re nothing but a worthless piece of garbage now, completely beneath me,” Francis sneered, picking up the contract from the table. “Get this woman out of here, I don’t want to see her.”
In Maple Garden Villa.
Lucian got up before dawn and left the villa to meet up with Lilian in their hometown for the tomb relocation. It was such an important matter that Lilian couldn’t miss it.
After Freya woke up, she learned about everything that had happened in Sioux.
All the military forces of Staleridge War God had gathered in Sioux, and after the Guevara family held the funeral for Sylvain, they would head straight to Sioux Peak. Henry and his men would follow, and Lucian would not be able to escape death.
With tears in her eyes, Minnie looked at Freya, who was preparing to leave and asked.
Freya, who had made up her mind, felt as if her heart was being twisted with a knife when she heard her daughter’s voice. She stopped in her tracks, facing away from Minnie, and didn’t turn back to look at her. In a soft voice, she said, “Minnie, promise Mom that you’ll listen to Grandpa and Grandma from now on.”
“I don’t want Mom to go! I don’t!”
Minnie was crying uncontrollably because she knew that once her mother left, she might never come back.
She rarely cried, but this time, she couldn’t help it.
She didn’t want to be without her mom.
“Minnie, don’t hate Dad. He’s been through a lot too.”
After saying this, Freya gritted her teeth and strode away, preparing to go to Sioux Peak to meet with Lucian.
“Mom!!”
Minnie saw Freya leaving and immediately chased after her.
At that moment, Henry led a group of Harrison family members and appeared at the entrance of the villa, blocking Freya’s way. He smiled and said, “Freya, it’s quite chaotic outside today, with armed soldiers everywhere. Don’t run around.”
“What are you guys doing here?” Freya asked with a cold expression.
“Your parents don’t want you to go to your death, but they can’t stop you, so they asked us to help and take you to the Harrison family’s, old residence!” Henry said kindly. “Granddaughter, listen to us and follow us. When the soldiers leave, we’ll let you go out, okay?”
“You guys get out of my way,” Freya angrily shouted, ignoring everyone and trying to leave the villa.
Felix and Calvin charged forward, blocking Freya’s way, and snorted as they spoke: “Freya, don’t act ungrateful after receiving our kindness. Grandpa came to rescue you, remember?”
“Get out of my way…”
Freya remained assertive.
“Fay, please listen to us this time. Don’t go find Lucian, it will only lead to casualties.”
Annie and Frank stepped forward from the crowd and pleaded with her.
“Why are you doing this, Mom and Dad?”
Freya’s face was filled with pain.
Annie’s face was filled with guilt and helplessness as she spoke, “I’m sorry, Fay, I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t watch you go to your death.”
“Today, no matter what, I have to go. I promised Lucian,” Freya said with determination on her face.
But in the next moment, Dax waved his hand and said, “Tie her up and take her to the Harrison family’s old residence. Without my command, no one can let her leave the Harrison family’s old residence half a step…”
“I dare you to try!” Freya’s emotions were getting out of control as she watched the group of people approaching her.
Before she could say anything more, Calvin, Felix, and others rushed up. Despite Freya’s best efforts to resist, she was ultimately a young girl facing so many people, and she was helpless. She was eventually bound and thrown into a car, and as it drove off, her heart- wrenching screams could be heard from a distance.
Annie and Frank looked at each other with expressions of guilt.
Sioux Peak!
At this moment, only Lucian, Lilian, and Austin were at the mountaintop.
Lucian knelt on the ground, cradling the urn containing Alexander’s ashes in his hands, gently placing it into the freshly dug grave. His expression remained serene as he spoke, “Father, this resting place must be dear to you, atop Sioux Peak, overlooking the entire Sioux. Just as you once stood tall above all others.”
On the other hand, Lilian had red eyes as she silently burned paper money, her lips sealed.
After all these years, she still deeply longed for her husband.
“Ring ring ring…”
Lucian’s phone suddenly rang, and it was Liam on the other end. He answered the call but remained silent.
On the other end of the line, Liam informed Lucian, “Mr. War God, the four formidable warlords of the Infernal Legion are now prepared. Each War God will lead a force of 30,000 elite soldiers, totaling 120,000 warriors. Additionally, we have 50 top-notch fighter jets and over 100 tanks at our disposal.”
He continued, “The Three Royal Elders will also be present, along with the mayor, inspector general, party secretary, and other officials, to pay their respects to your father. However, the Three Royal Elders might arrive a bit late. As for Staleridge War God, he has gathered 20,000 regular troops and over 20,000 underground thugs, all ready to blockade Sioux Peak and eliminate you!”
Lucian couldn’t help but scoff at Staleridge War God’s feeble attempt. He replied, “I understand. Thank you for the update.”
Just as Lucian ended the call, Lilian suddenly recalled, something and asked, “Son, didn’t you mention that Freya would also be coming? Your father must be eager to see his daughter-in-law. Why hasn’t she arrived yet?”
Lucian retrieved his phone and dialed Freya’s number. However, there was no response.
He furrowed his brow, feeling perplexed. He tried calling several more times, but still received no answer.
Could it be that Freya had changed her mind about coming?
“Lucian, run! Staleridge War God has gone berserk. He’s leading tens of thousands of heavily armed soldiers to hunt you down. If you don’t hurry, you won’t survive!” A panicked voice cried out from a distance.
