UNDER THE MASK - EPISODE 38

Athena’s heart sank at the scene in front of her but she kept standing, watching them as if to tell them to stop, it hurts but nothing came out of her mouth, more like her throat has been blocked and without realizing, tears fell from her eyes on the spot

Damon’s eyes almost left their sockets as he watched Moon devouring his lips with her eyes closed but when the corner of his eyes saw Athena crying, he slightly pushed Moon away

“What are you doing?” He demanded and Moon sniffed as if to cry

” Damon I’ve tried to fight it with all I have, I’ve tried not to look selfish but it just isn’t working, I love you so much and I can’t control it, Athena deserves you and I know it well but I love you too, I can’t just control it I’m in love” Moon said, letting out her tears too

Damon looked at Athena and as her tears continued flowing, he feels hurt as ever, he looked at Moon and her tears hurts too and like that, he was left in the pool of confusion, not knowing what to do

Athena left the place Immediately and when he made to follow, Moon held him but he took his hand from her

“Please” he said and followed Athena who’s already about to enter her room

He pulled her arm and when her teary face got illuminated by the lights, he felt bad

“Let me go, I’m sorry I acted like that, I don’t even know why I’m crying, maybe the tears fell voluntarily, I’m so sorry” she said, avoiding his eyes

” I know you, I know you more than yourself, we’ve been friends for more than a year now and I understand when you’re ok or when you’re not, Athena… ”

” I know, and I think you should also know when I want to be alone” she interrupted and tried taking her hand from him but he held her back again

“Please.. just look at my face” he said pleadingly

“Why?” She asked, still looking at the ground

” Just look at me” he said

“I can’t, it’ll only make me want you more, please don’t let me” she replied slowly

He forcefully raised her face by holding her chin up and when their eyes met, when her eyeballs came to view, he smiled

“Don’t cry anymore, please” he said

“I can’t stop it” she sniffed

“What can make you stop?, I’ll do anything” he said, holding her face

“Play me tunes” she replied

“Only that?, Are you sure?” He asked and he nodded

He gently wiped her tears with his thumbs and pulled her to his room where they both sat on a chair in front of his keyboard

“Would you rather teach me how to do it?” She asked

” You wanna learn?” He asked, placing his palm forward

“Yes, and what’s that palm for?” She asked

“Your apprenticeship fee* he replied and they both laughed

He made her sit first then he sat behind her and placed his head on her shoulder then took her hands in his own and pressed the keyboard with it

“Feels good right?” He asked, sneaking a look at her face

She looked back at him and smiled. “I love it” she said and returned to it

He continued playing the keyboard with her fingers and her heart kept thudding in on her chest at the feel of his head on her shoulder and his fresh breath brushing her neck though she feels immense pains from his wounded arm as he moved it but if this makes her have him around, it’s endurable

The tunes aren’t that good in the beginning but soon it became better

“Glad to see you smiling” Damon said and her smile grew wider

“Thanks for making me smile” she said , heaving silently.

Next day**

Everyone moved in twos and threes to the dinning hall for breakfast since the bell has been rung

They took their seats and waited for meal to be served

“Athena is just so useless, she takes forever in doing everything, so now we have to wait another thirty minutes for the meal to arrive” Rainbow complained

” If you feel bad , you can decide to take over the kitchen” Elaina said from the table in front of her

Rainbow looked up and smirked

“I just hate you ” she said

“And I hate you more baby” Elaina replied and smiled

” I just love Elaina’s personality, always ready to give it to her hot” Eden chuckled

” Some will die soon, then we won’t have to see nuisances again” Mika muttered

” And some will be getting destroyed soon, then we won’t have to see losers again” Mercury replied

” Oh, the one whose lover just died” Mika mocked

” You might be the next, who knows” Mercury replied

” That was fab!” Venus said loudly and Elaina smiled

Athena came out with the other maids and they started serving but immediately the food was placed on Rainbow’s table, she took the plate and poured it all on Athena’s face

“Ouch!, That hurts” Mika mocked as Athena rubbed her burning face as a result of the pepper

Elaina made to stand but Damon was faster, he appeared in front of Rainbow and raised his leg to her face, kicking her face viciously and that made her stagger and almost fall but she stood still and held Damon’s shoulder, her nails grew long and it dug into his shoulder, wounding him in the process

He hit her chest and she landed far away from him, standing with a victorious smirk on her face

Athena rushed to him and held him, looking worriedly at his wounded shoulder

“You’re … You’re hurt” she said and immediately tried to heal him but it isn’t working

” Is it because I’m wounded?, That must be it” she thought, dropping her hand from his shoulder sadly

” Let’s go” Damon said and grabbed her, taking her out of the place

“You’re.. you’re hurt Damon, it hurts me too” she said, crying already

” I’m ok. Gosh, you’re crying again” he said and tried to wipe her tears but she hugged him

“I just can’t bear to see you hurt Damon, I’m hurt too” she said and entangled her arms round him

Damon smiled and stroked her hair. “Crying bear, I’m fine, and why was your healing powers not working?” He asked

” I dunno” she replied slowly.

“Sorceress requests to see you” a junior student informed Kaitlyn who Immediately set to go

“I’ll go with you” Min said but she declined. “I’ll be right back” she smiled and hugged him before leaving

They had the sixth kiss last night and if the moon could just appear tonight, they’ll have the last and she’s just anticipating that, maybe Min’s anticipation is greater

Surprisingly, Asher is with Ursula when she got there

“Dean, sorceress” she smiled

Asher smiled widely and Kaitlyn wondered why silently

Asher will never smile without a reason

“Dean, I’m surprised, you just smiled ‘ she said

” Another shock is coming soon” he replied

“What’s it sorceress?’ she asked curiously

” Calm down it’s coming soon” Ursula replied and hugged her , immediately she hugged her, her scent filled her nose

“It got stronger again, you guys had the sixth?” She asked impatiently and Kaitlyn nodded

” Then only one left, I’m so glad” sorceress said, hugging her back again

Asher smiled from his spot as he watched them, secretly he wished they could just go somewhere and be alone as one happy family.

They plan to tell her of the secret that she’s their daughter when she finally gets the crown

“But why do I feel like something bad will happen now that they’re left with one one kiss?” Asher wondered worriedly.

****Night**

Moon hesitated when she heard the knocking on her door, it’s dinner time but she’s not interested, not like she ate breakfast anyways

When the knocking became persistent, she opened the door and came face to face with Damon, she made to close the door immediately but he quickly held it

“What do you want Damon Ceaser?” She demanded hurtfully, letting go of the door

Damon came in fully and engulfed her In the comfort of his arms

“Let’s go eat dinner, you can’t sit here all day” he said

” Are you mad that I kissed you?” She asked

“a little bit” he smiled

” Huh?”

” Yes, because you stole it” he replied and she immediately broke the hug

*Were you keeping it for another person?” She said

” I dunno” Damon replied, letting uncertainty fill his voice

Moon smiled. ” It’s ok,, but I don’t feel like eating” she said

” Be fast, Rainbow might do something nasty again and I don’t want that” Athena said as she prepared to take dinner to the dinning with the maids

“Yes my lady” they all replied, packing the remaining trays of food out to the dinning and Athena followed behind but was suddenly grabbed and her back was hit on the wall hardly

Her eyes met cold demanding eyes of Rainbow and Immediately red flames entered her eyes from Rainbow’s eyes, she feels different, became possessed and she feels the need to do everything she says

“Take this” Rainbow said, handing her the pellet

“Add the powder to Kaitlyn’s food and she’ll bleed, once I’m done with everything and you have your senses back, you’ll be accused of poisoning her food, if you are asked, tell them it’s because you hate her so much and she has dissappeared” Rainbow commanded and she nodded

Rainbow smiled and left

” Stop, I’ll take the tray myself” she told the last maid on the line

She looked back and obeyed, handing the tray to her

She took it and added the pellet powder to a certain plate of food before taking out the tray to the dinning

She placed it on Kaitlyn’s table and served everyone sitting there including Kaitlyn

Min and Elaina became uneasy and they wondered why

Ursula is feeling weird in her chamber while Asher feels restless in the lodge of fame

As Kaitlyn brought the spoon to her mouth, Elaina and Min got the real cause cos their head turned towards her at the same time but she’s already eating the first spoon

Their mouths widened to shout but time stopped, making everything come to a standstill except Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn’s spoon fell from her and she started bleeding instantly from the mouth and her whole body feels weak and tired as she bled

Rainbow and Mika entered with victorious smiles on their faces and Rainbow immediately started the collection of Kaitlyn’s blood in a glass bottle

“Mission one about to be accomplished” Mika said and they laughed as they pulled Kaitlyn out of the dinning though she’s still bleeding, they dragged her till they got to the demon’s room corner

They took her in and with one push from Rainbow’s hand, it opened and Kaitlyn was thrown in Immediately

They can hear demons screaming as Rainbow closed the door

“They’ll make a feast of her body, they’ll have a good meal tonight” Rainbow smiled

” I know right?” Mika replied as they walked to the cafeteria together again and Rainbow suddenly held her arm

“Ouch!” She winced

“Are you ok?” Mika asked

” Of course, just a slight pain” she replied, keeping the glass bottle containing Kaitlyn’s blood in her pocket

“It’ll reach Al Ana tonight” Mika smiled

“Yeah” Rainbow replied as they entered the dinning hall again

Athena is still standing like a fool with everyone else

They took their seats and time came back

Min and Elaine shouted cos that’s what they wanted to do before time stopped

“Kaitlyn!!!” They both screamed but surprisingly she’s not there, just traces of blood on the ground

Athena got her senses back but she doesn’t feel alright, she feels like she’s still being controlled and her mouth opened

“I poisoned her” she found herself saying though she doesn’t want to but she’s just talking

“What!” Everyone gasped

“I poisoned her and made her bleed till she vanished and turned to dust, cos I hate her, she always behaves perfect” Athena said again, more like someone is using her mouth to talk on her behalf but she has no control, more surprisingly, she feels no pain from her arm again

“What did you just say?” Min said, moving closer Athena with magnetic mode, he held her neck and chocked her till she bled

Asher and Ursula came in immediately with Lett

“I poisoned Kaitlyn and made her bleed till she dissappeared cos I hate her for always behaving like miss perfect” she found herself saying again, now sweating profusely

“What!” Ursula and Asher chorused

Elaina stood confused

“What’s this?, I’ve never been confused” she thought

Min’s eyes turned bright red with anger and Rainbow smiled at Mika as Min hit Athena’s back hardly on the wall and the wall broke

“Where is my queen!!!* He demanded with authority

Athena bled more and started coughing

Damon is just coming in with Moon and when he saw the scene, the usual urge to save her even if it costs his life took over him and he rushed to the scene

He flew up and tried taking Athena from Min but Min pushed him away and he crashed on the wall, bleeding from the mouth too

Moon rushed to hold him Immediately

Min dropped Athena violently and hit his hand on the wall, the walls started cracking and soon, it started shattering to bits, making everyone’s eyes widen in horror

Min’s eye color changed from red to complete black and he shouted loudly

“It’s the king of supernatural beings speaking!, Where is my queen!!” He yelled in anger and he made to touch Athena again but Elaina threw a pin at him, it hit his neck and he fell heavily unconscious

” Lock up Athena in the underground cave, now!” Asher ordered…
