On an early Thursday morning at Xander Residence, Daniella was awakened by her ringing phone.

She answered the call with a sense of irritation.

“Hello? Who’s there?”

“Bitch! You better not let me catch you, or you’ll die terribly!”

The hoarse, deep voice startled Daniella, jolting her awake. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw the

caller’s number on the screen

‘Wayne? Isn’t he being pursued by Grandpa? How is he still alive? she wondered

Daniella feigned her puzzlement. “What do you mean, Mr. Hunter?”

“Stop pretending! Even though I lost the evidence, I can recognize your voice!” Wayne shouted. Would

I come back to seek compensation from them if not because of you? Would I be pursued if not because

of you?”

Daniella clutched the blanket tightly. “Mr. Hunter, don’t make false accusations like this. I felt

quilty, so I told you to seek compensation from Caroline. Who would have thought you’d reach out to my grandfather?”

“What more is there to explain at this point?”

“I’m not attempting to give an excuse, but Caroline is the cause behind your problem.” Danielle.

attempted to influence Wayne’s perspective. “Just consider my thoughts, Mr. Hunter Caroline was

the one who provoked issues with me, leading my grandfather to step in and teach her a lesson.

Essentially, Caroline is the reason for your mother’s situation, isn’t she?”

Wayne kept quiet.

Daniella’s heart raced. She understood she couldn’t be connected with someone like Wayne..

Getting no response from Wayne, Daniella continued. “Mr. Hunter, I’m sure you’ve been

manipulated. Are you aware of the Xanders‘ status in Angelbay? Would the Xanders tolerate

threats?

“The person who guided you must have known my grandfather would target you and used this to

control and remove you. You need to find this person behind it!”

“But how can I find them? And what about dealing with the Shenton girl?” Wayne retorted.

Danielle smirked. “I have a way that will allow you to get the money and escape unscathed.”

“What is it?”

“Caroline treasures her son very much…”

At 7:30 am.. Caroline entered the children’s room to wake them.

Liora lay in Caroline’s arms, utterly exhausted. She could not even lift her head and kept yawning. She

murmured, “Mommy, can I sleep a little longer?”

Caroline helped Liora get dressed. “Liora, have you forgotten about your museum trip today?”

Liora’s shut eyes opened up suddenly. “You’re right! The kindergarten is taking us to the museum

today!”

She turned her head to look at the sleeping Tyler and shook him. “Wake up. Tyler! We’re going to

the museum today! We’ll be late!”

Tyler sat upright and glanced at Liora “Got it. Stay quiet.”

He looked at Caroline and said, “Good morning, Mommy.”

Caroline caressed Tyler’s face. “Good morning. Ty Take care of your sister at the museum today

Tyler nodded. “Hmm. I’ll watch over the spider, so Lia won’t eat it.”

“What! I’m not going to eat a spider!” Liora glared at Tyler.

“Ah, I see. The spider will eat Lia then.”

“No! I hate spiders! Mommy, Tyler is bullying me again…”

Caroline was amused by her children early in the morning. Just as she was about to tell them to get

ready, a feeling of unease stirred in her chest.

‘Is it because I stayed up late last night?” she wondered.

Caroline didn’t think much and took the two kids to clean up.

After breakfast, she brought them to the kindergarten entrance and left for work once she saw

them inside.

Naomi entered the office with a tablet. “Ms. Shenton, the project manager from Global Investment

Firm wants to meet you this afternoon.”
