Noticing Evan’s anger, Reuben lowered his head and said, “Yes, sir.”

He was about to leave when Evan called out to him. “Fire the newly–hired bodyguards. I want a

complete overhaul of the technical department staff!”

Reuben was taken aback. The previous group of employees got replaced when they couldn’t locate

Caroline, leaving only Julian Evan was really angry with Caroline today, so he desired new staff

If this kept up, the company’s employees would feel uncomfortable.

However, Reuben refrained from speaking up and readied himself to perform the task.

At Xander Residence

The bodyguards stopped Wayne at the door.

He had learned his lesson this time. “Sir, I’m here to see Mr. Grayson Xander. Please inform him to let

me in Tell him that I have a voice recording to give him”

The bodyguard said, Ill inform him. Wait here.”

Wayne waited for a few minutes before the bodyguard came and said, “Follow me.”

He led Wayne into the huge Xander Residence.

Wayne’s eyes brightened as he took in the expansive garden and the massive villa of Xander

Residence. Upon entering the villa, he spotted Grayson comfortably seated on the sofa, engrossed in

watching television. He hurriedly greeted, “Hello, Mr. Xander Sr.!”

Grayson turned his head and glanced at Wayne. “What do you have for me?”

Upon hearing Grayson’s directness, Wayne decided to get straight to the point. “How do you plan to

make up for sending someone to attack my mother? I’m not asking for much, just one million

dollars!”

Wayne adjusted his demand after being impressed by the Xander Residence’s grandeur.

Grayson’s gaze turned cold, and he sneered. “I beat up your mother? Who is your mother?”

“Lily Smith. She works for Caroline Shenton as their nanny!” Wayne replied.

Grayson laughed aloud. “I have no idea who that is!

Wayne said, “You kidnapped Caroline’s kids, and your people hurt my mom when she tried to stop

it. Remember?”

Grayson retorted, “You’re quick to blame, aren’t you? Where’s the evidence?”

Wayne then showed evidence by playing a recorded voice clip from his phone.

Grayson’s voice was heard saying, ‘Kidnap Caroline’s two children and beat up whoever tries to

stop you!”

Daniella said, “Grandpa, Ms. Smith, who takes care of Caroline’s children, might try to stop them.”

Grayson scoffed. “She’s just a nanny! Just beat her to death. Her life is worthless!‘

Daniella said. “Thank you for doing so much for me, Grandpa. Do you understand Grandpa’s orders?

Go and do it, quick.”

The bodyguard said, “Yes, Ms. Love, Mr. Xander Sr.

Grayson’s expression turned unpleasant upon hearing that.

How could he possibly forget about what he said? How did this person get a hold of their voice

recording? Or had someone bugged their house?

Wayne said righteously. “It was you, right? Giving one million dollars for your family’s reputation

is not expensive!”

He found out that Grayson’s family was among the top three powerful families in Angelbay. If the

voice clip got out, it would create a big uproar. The Xanders‘ stocks might drop due to public

opinion.

Grayson’s expression was solemn. “How did you get this?”

“Don’t mind how I got it. Even if you destroy my phone now, I still have other backups! I will send

it out if you won’t pay me!”

“It’s just a million dollars. I can pay you, but you need to give me the recordings,” Grayson said

with a chuckle. “However, you ll also have to sign an NDA, so you won’t come back asking for more

money after this.”
