“Sure,” Caroline agreed with a happy smile.

After chatting with the three children, Caroline stood up and left the hospital.

Someone suddenly collided with her as she approached the exit and was about to hail a cab.

This unexpected impact caused her to stagger a few steps before regaining her balance. However,

the person who bumped into her fell to the ground heavily.

Turning around, Caroline saw a woman wearing a long sleeping robe who appeared to be in a sorry

state.

Caroline could still make out the woman’s delicate facial features despite her messy hair. The.

“I… I’m so sorry…” Jamie Weiss‘ voice trembled, and her eyes turned red.

Unexpectedly, Jamie shuddered vigorously at Caroline’s offer, leaving her a bit puzzled

“Do you need assistance?” Caroline inquired once more.

Realizing that Caroline meant no harm, Jamie got back on her feet with some difficulty and

created a bit of distance between them. “I was being chased, and that’s why I accidentally bumped

into you,” she explained fearfully.

She then glanced around nervously.

Noticing Jamie’s bare, dirty, and bleeding legs, Caroline furrowed her brows.

Before she could ask, Jamie’s stomach audibly growled.

Flustered, Jamie quickly covered her belly and blushed. “I’m sorry. I haven’t eaten yet, so…..

Caroline chuckled warmly. “If you’re comfortable with it, you can come home with me. We need to

tend to your leg injuries to prevent infection.”

Jamie was stunned before she nodded repeatedly. “Okay, take me with you. Let’s go!”

Caroline nodded and brought Jamie home to Bayview.

Kenny wore an apron and cooked in the kitchen. He was going to call Caroline to ask if she would

be home for dinner when he heard the door open

Kenny walked out of the kitchen and saw Caroline. “G, you’re home. I just finished cooking–Eh?

Kenny acted fast and returned to the living room with the medical kit. Caroline had led the

strange woman over and let her sit on the sofa.

Kenny then placed the medical kit on the tea table before he glanced at Jamie’s injured and

curled legs

After that, he drew in a cold breath.

His action scared Jamie until she trembled and nervously grabbed Caroline’s arm.

Caroline glared at Kenny. “Don’t be flustered. You scared her.”

Kenny immediately nodded. “But who is she?”

“I bumped into her on the street,” Caroline answered while opening the medical kit.

Kenny widened his eyes. “I didn’t know you like picking people up by the road. And it’s a woman!”

“Cut the crap! Go and cook!” Caroline became impatient because of Kenny.

Kenny left dejectedly.

Caroline helped tend to Jamie’s wound. “Where is your home? Do you need me to give you a ride.
