friend. Why won’t you drink with him?”

“It seems that you’re sensible enough to know that Evan won’t drink with you. Hey, how about I

drink with you then?” Alex was smiling in his eyes as he looked at Paige scornfully.

His gaze looked like a provocation to Paige!

Paige raised her voice and said, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I’m not. Just tell me if you’d dare to drink with me.”

Evan sneered “How can you consider yourself a mother when you don’t even ask about your

children? What sets you apart from Daniella?

As soon as Daniella’s name came up, Caroline was filled with fury, her gaze locked onto Evan’s

face.

“Who are you to criticize me? Why make me bring up the past and argue? What sets me apart from

Daniella?

“If you hadn’t doubted my behavior without reason before, I wouldn’t be in this helpless situation

now. And how are you any different when you don’t even know about Axel’s condition?”

Evan’s expression turned solemn.
