Caroline stepped out of the car, her brows furrowing as she approached the roses. Evan’s

intentions baffled her.

Was he trying to win her back after Daniella’s betrayal? Or did he see her as a mere replacement?

With a scoff, Caroline retrieved her phone and dialed Evan’s number.

Evan answered, his voice surprisingly pleasant. “Speak.”

Caroline’s displeasure grew. “Mr. Jordan, are you so rich that you’ve run out of places to spend

your money?”

The faint smile on Evan’s face vanished. “What are you implying?”

Caroline’s tone turned icy. It takes quite a childish mind to send flowers as if you’re trying to win

me over.”

Evan’s expression turned serious at her words.

Alex had advised him that no woman would dislike receiving fresh flowers. But instead of being appreciative, Caroline had responded rudely.

He had never done this for any other woman, yet she found fault with it.

Evan retorted stubbornly. “Do you really think I have nothing better to do than send you flowers?”

Caroline was momentarily stunned “If they aren’t yours, I’ll have someone sell them.”

She ended the call abruptly.

Evan’s lips twitched. ‘What did she say again? Did she claim that she is going to sell the roses?‘

Growing increasingly angry, he tossed his phone onto the table, stood up, and walked somberly to

the children’s room.

The children were engrossed in their play on the rug. They turned their attention to him as he

After a quick scan of their faces, Evan’s gaze settled on Liora. Tyler enjoyed contradicting him, so

it would be easier to get information from Liora.

“What do you like then?” He refused to believe that Liora did not have a favorite snack.

“Mommy said we shouldn’t take people’s gifts for no reason Otherwise, we will bring danger to

ourselves!”

“I won’t hurt you!”

“I don’t want your gifts!”

“I’ll take you to see your mother!”

“I like dolls!” Liora answered.

‘So it’s true that her mother is more important to her than anything else, huh? Evan thought

Evan smirked. “I can buy you dolls, but you must answer my question.”

Liora pursed her lips and looked at Evan in contempt.
