The guard of the Shaw family tried to find cover for Evan, but the enemy’s firepower was too intense;

moving was nearly impossible.

He shielded Evan with his body, burying his head low, but he had been hit twice.

After settling Christopher, Cecilia asked Aiden for a gun.

She moved agilely between the vehicles, dodging bullets and returning fire.

A minute later, she reached Evan.

In the next moment, a bullet struck the ruptured fuel tank, causing a violent explosion.

The back of the car was lifted high into the air before crashing down.

Flames shot into the sky, and the heat wave surged in all directions.

Even Aiden, a bit farther away with a slightly open car window, felt the heat.

Elaine stared at the car intensely, watching the exploding car, her heart in her throat.

She tightly grasped Aiden’s arm and asked tremulously, “Aiden, Ceci and the others will be okay,

right?”

Aiden couldn’t clearly see what was happening in the front, and his heart also tightened.

Still, his voice remained very calm. “Grandma Elaine, they will be fine. They have faced numerous

challenges during their time in the Peacekeeping Forces. They are experienced in handling such

situations.”

Though he said this, the current situation was different.

Elaine couldn’t find solace in Aiden’s words; her worry deepened.

“Christopher and Jay are seriously injured, and Ceci is alone…”

She didn’t finish her sentence, but Aiden understood her meaning.

He held her hand and said, “Grandma Elaine, Ceci and the others have been to the cemetery before;

they are familiar with the surroundings. They will find a way to escape. We just need to wait.”

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to intervene, but his status didn’t permit him to take such risks.

Although Elaine was extremely worried, she trusted the three children and believed they would find a

way to escape.

As both wished, Cecilia and the others were unharmed.

In the second before the explosion, Cecilia threw the Shaw family’s guard far away and then rolled with

Evan into a nearby ditch.

The ditch was used to drain water. It was not deep enough, but when lying down, it served as the best

cover.

With cover, the threat from bullets diminished significantly.

“Evan, take care of yourself. I’ll go help.” After saying that, Cecilia crawled forward along the shallow

ditch. Then, taking advantage of the vehicles for cover, she stood up and continued to shoot at Wolf

Killer.

As Wolf Killer was gradually eliminated, the firepower noticeably weakened.

Aiden gave the command, “Eliminate the enemy. Leave no one alive, regardless of life or death!”

“Yes, Commander!”

The bodyguards protecting Aiden, after making sure that the danger coefficient was reduced,

immediately sent some troops and rushed to the sides to eliminate Wolf Killer of Sirius Clan.

It wasn’t long before the battle ended.

Except for two captured alive, all the members of Wolf Killer were dead.

As soon as she finished, she got out of the car.

Aiden could not refuse, and he immediately walked to Elaine’s side.

His bodyguards surrounded the two of them, and they all moved toward the location of the car

explosion.

After returning the gun, Cecilia approached the edge of the ditch and helped the immobile Evan to the

roadside.

The effects of acupuncture had worn off, and the pain intensified. He hadn’t passed out, relying solely

on his strong willpower to endure.

Christopher had been pretending to be poisoned all the time. He had done nothing throughout and was

unharmed but dirty.

Passing by the Shaw family members, one of them suddenly threw a glass orb.

The orb shattered upon landing, releasing a pungent smoke.

The sudden change happened too quickly and was not part of Charlie’s plan.

Even though they covered their mouths and noses immediately, they still inhaled some smoke.

Elaine, who was closest, took two breaths.

Aiden immediately reached out to catch her, while Cecilia quickly supported her first and carried her

away from the acrid smoke.

When they were far enough, Cecilia dared to breathe again.

Then, she promptly checked Elaine.

Aiden ran over anxiously, his voice trembling with tension. “Ceci, what happened to Grandma Elaine?”

“She’s been poisoned. Get her to the hospital immediately.”

The bodyguards quickly moved the damaged car away, leaving a few people to guard the scene. The

rest escorted the Shaw family members to the military hospital.

Fortunately, Aiden’s car was large enough to accommodate the four members of the Shaw family and

Christopher just right.

Inside the car was a medical kit. Cecilia rummaged through it and finally found a bottle of universal

antidote.

Although its efficacy wasn’t very strong, it was better than nothing.

The car raced to the military hospital at the fastest speed.

The hospital director had already arranged for doctors to wait at the entrance. As soon as the car

stopped, Elaine was immediately taken into the operating room.

Evan had already passed out from the pain and was taken to the emergency room.

Christopher was sent to the trauma department to bandage his lacerations.

After greeting the two departments, Cecilia went with Aiden to the entrance of the operating room.

Charlie, who was getting facial treatments at the hospital, wiped off the ointment from his face upon

hearing the news. He didn’t even have time to wash his face and hurried to the operating room.

Also receiving the news was Jeffrey, who was conducting a detoxification experiment in the laboratory.

Seeing the matter accomplished, he was in a good mood and put two more drops of reagent into the

Petri dish.

His temporary assistant cautioned, “Professor Farsons, the dosage is exceeded.”

Jeffrey pretended to snap out of his thoughts and quickly poured the liquid from the Petri dish into the

trash can. “I got distracted just now. didn’t expect the Shaw family to be in trouble. Who dares to be so

bold?”

“Just a fool who doesn’t know any better!”

Jeffrey’s expression darkened, a flash of killing intent crossing his eyes.

At this moment, Charlie was taken by Aiden to the nearest doctor’s office.

Aiden had someone shut off the surveillance cameras in the office. He swiftly retrieved a pen from the

pen holder and removed the cap.
