After Cecilia went upstairs, Evan told Christopher, “Let’s go.”

All Christopher felt for Evan was admiration and no fear.

He nodded, stood up, and led Evan out of the main building for an aimless stroll.

Whenever they chanced upon bodyguards and housekeepers along the way, the staff would all take the initiative to avoid the duo.

Evan never spoke, and Christopher wasn’t one to initiate a conversation either. Nonetheless, Christopher still took the initiative to break the silence since Evan was a guest.

“Evan-”

As soon as Christopher said the first word, Evan attacked the former.

The ferocious punch was swift and merciless, striking straight at Christopher’s face.

Evan’s right leg which was full of strength also swept toward Christopher at breakneck speed.

It was challenging for ordinary people to dodge a joint attack of punches and kicks.

However, Christopher was not ordinary. He was a ruthless man who had been rigorously trained and at death’s door several times!

Even though his arm injury was not healed at present, and his leg injury also mildly affected his agility, he still dodged the attack right away.

Had the attacker been someone else, he would’ve definitely fought back, but this was Cecilia’s friend, Evan, so he couldn’t really hurt the guy.

Cecilia put the medical kit on the coffee table and shot them a sidelong look. “Are you two enemies? Why so brutal?”

From the medical kit, Evan found a bottle of ointment that promoted blood circulation and removed blood stasis and applied it while replying, “If we don’t do it for real, how will I know if your boyfriend can really protect you?”

The word “boyfriend” signified that he had approved of the relationship between Christopher and Cecilia.

In truth, he simply wanted to test Christopher a little, but unexpectedly, an evenly matched fight was too compelling, thus resulting in their current state.

Cecilia glared at Evan and asked, “So, do you know now?”

“Of course. Christopher is better than me. If he weren’t injured,

He was glad that Christopher could protect Cecilia in the future instead of needing her protection.

Cecilia was not at all surprised at the result of their fight.

Christopher had been her coach for a month, so she knew exactly what he was capable of.

She took out another bottle of ointment for bruises from the medical kit and helped Christopher apply it.

Seeing that, Evan wanted Cecilia to take a look at the injury on his back. “I can’t reach it. Come help me.”

“So immature!”

Cecilia didn’t even look at the injury on Evan’s back and continued to apply the ointment to Christopher.

Christopher had hurt an arm and couldn’t apply it himself. Evan tutted at the sight of Cecilia, who only had eyes for her boyfriend.

“Looks like I’ve doted on you for nothing all these years, Cecilia. Now that you have a man, you’ve forgotten all about me.”

Despite saying that, he was grinning from ear to ear, pleased with Cecilia’s transformation.

“Don’t worry. I won’t forget you!”

After applying the ointment to Christopher, Cecilia helped Evan treat the parts that he couldn’t reach.

Christopher got up and said, “I’ll go make something to eat.” He had gotten a little hungry after that strenuous exercise. Just as Cecilia was about to say that she would make it later, Evan requested, “I don’t eat frozen food. Cook some pasta.” He wanted to try Christopher’s cooking. If Christopher was bad at it, Evan would make the man practice more.

After Christopher went to the kitchen, Cecilia patted Evan on the back where he was injured.

“Evan, his arm hasn’t healed yet, and he’s all bruised up because of you. How could you still make him cook pasta?”

Cooking pasta didn’t consist of just boiling the pasta itself. One would still have to make the sauce and use a knife.

Evan grimaced in pain and raised a hand to knock Cecilia’s head.

“You’re not even married to him, yet you’re already so

protective of him? Back then, when we were in the orphanage, didn’t I also cook tasty food for you with both my hands hurt?” At the mention of this, Cecilia recalled the past.

“Thank you, Evan. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been taken to the Shaw residence, nor would I have a second life.” “Silly girl. There’s no need for thanks between us.” Not wanting Cecilia to recall those unhappy childhood memories, he steered the conversation back on course. “Hurry up and apply the ointment. Looking at the already–prepared sauce, she raised an eyebrow and commented, “I didn’t expect you to mince so well with one hand.”

Christopher moved his injured arm and said smilingly, “I’m not crippled. It can still assist in mincing.”

In the fight just now, Evan had intentionally avoided Christopher’s arm. Had he not done so, the latter’s wound would certainly tear open again.

Christopher pushed Cecilia out of the kitchen. “Go chat with Evan. I’ll let you know when the food’s done.”

“Okay, I’ll go arrange a room for Evan first.”

“Give Evan a set of clothes that I haven’t worn before.”

“Mm, I’m on it.”

Cecilia then led Evan upstairs and picked the largest guest room for him.

When she went back to the bedroom to get Christopher’s clothes, Evan held her back and asked in a suppressed voice, “Have you two slept together?”
