After Cecilia’s statement, Jonathan remained in a daze for quite some time until Christopher spoke up.

“Mr. Yancey, it’s working hours now. You should head to your job.”

Jonathan snapped back to reality, his gaze filled with

astonishment as he looked at Cecilia. “You want me to clean the restrooms?”

He had assumed Cecilia was having him sign a typical contract to become a low–level employee, something that would be fodder for gossip in the aristocratic circle.

He never expected she would actually ask him to clean the

restrooms.

Cecilia smirked and nodded. “Well, you and the restrooms seem like a perfect match.”

She still remembered how the Yancey family had treated her with disdain when they had asked her to be a blood donor for Juliana while she was working in the fields.

Jonathan had even remarked that being a street sweeper was a more respectable job than farming.

Now that he was tasked with restroom cleaning, he was likely experiencing some poetic justice.

Jonathan glared at Cecilia, who wore a mischievous grin, and ground his teeth.

“I’ll pay the penalty and resign!”

Cecilia waved the employment contract she held in her hand.

“Okay, 1 billion dollars in penalty then.”

The contract was crystal clear. Jonathan could not quit or take leave. If he breached the contract, the money Cecilia had used

Upon hearing this, Jonathan’s eyes almost popped out of his head.

“You set me up!”

“Weren’t all these terms agreed upon during our phone call yesterday?”

Cecilia’s retort left Jonathan speechless.

Seeing him remain silent, Cecilia teasingly asked, “So, it’s restroom cleaning or breaching the contract? Have you made your choice?”

Jonathan did not have much choice and managed to grind out the words through gritted teeth.

“Restroom! Cleaning!”

Afterward, he picked up the box containing his personal items from his office desk and stormed off in frustration.

Cecilia called out to his retreating figure and said, “Once you report to the logistics department, make your way to the conference room.”

“Understood.”

After Jonathan left, Cecilia notified the company’s senior management and shareholders to have a meeting in the conference room.

The matter of changing the chairman at Yancey Corporation had been communicated by Jonathan the previous day, and both the management and shareholders had arrived early.

Upon hearing about the meeting, they hurried to the conference room.

“True. If I were her, I might channel my frustration by—” Cecilia, standing outside, could not bear to listen any longer. She pushed the door open, and the shareholders fell silent. Those who had previously made malicious speculations lowered their heads like cowards.

She moved to the main seat and took her place, saying, “Make room for Mr. Forte and his management team.”

Upon her words, the senior executives rose and stepped aside. Christopher sat in the seat directly to the right of Cecilia. The management team found their places according to their ranks.

The conference room was spacious, but there were too many people for the meeting and not enough seats for everyone, resulting in a few senior executives having to stand. Nonetheless, nobody dared to voice any complaints.

Everyone discreetly glanced at Cecilia as they noticed her silence.

As time passed, the atmosphere in the conference room became increasingly tense, and everyone’s apprehension grew.

Someone could not help but ask, “Ms. Yancey, are you waiting for the Yancey family? They probably won’t show up.”

Even though the Yancey family was still a major shareholder, the embarrassment of losing control of the company had likely kept them away.

As for Jonathan, he had no choice but to attend due to the contract signing with Cecilia.

Cecilia looked in the direction of the marketing director who had spoken and said, “I’m waiting for the former CEO, Mr. Yancey. There are certain matters that are more appropriate for him to address.”

Just as she finished her statement, Jonathan arrived, accompanied by the HR director.

The HR director had been stifling his laughter ever since learning of Jonathan’s reassignment to the logistics department for restroom cleaning.

His face had turned beet red, and his shoulders quivered as if he might burst into laughter at any moment.

However, the solemn atmosphere in the conference room kept him from giving in to laughter.

Jonathan stood still at the far end of the conference table, directly across from Cecilia.

“I’m here, so let’s begin.”

Cecilia’s powerful presence filled the room as she rested her forearms on the conference table, fingers interlocked.

“Then I’ll let you, the former CEO, introduce me to everyone and give an update on Yancey Corporation’s current situation.” The Yancey family cared most about Yancey Corporation, and asking them to openly acknowledge the change of ownership. was like tearing their hearts out.

Jonathan spoke up candidly after considering that nothing was more humiliating than restroom cleaning.

He elaborated on the company’s status in great detail, determined not to let Yancey Corporation collapse.

Christopher’s management team had made thorough records. of the projects according to their respective expertise.

“The current situation at Yancey Corporation is as mentioned. I’ve placed the transition documents on my desk. Ms. Yancey, feel free to ask me if there’s anything unclear.”

After Jonathan’s explanation, the management team had a clear understanding of Yancey Corporation’s status.

They nodded to Cecilia, indicating their confidence in taking over Yancey Corporation.

Cecilia received their signal and waved her hand dismissively to Jonathan. “You have nothing more to do here. It’s time to clean the restrooms.”

Jonathan knew she was doing this on purpose and had anticipated this outcome; however, it was still embarrassing.

As stifled laughter erupted, he immediately turned and left.

The HR director, unable to contain himself, burst into laughter.

“Who would have thought the day would come when Mr. Yancey has to clean restrooms? Hahaha…”

As he said this, he cast a look of admiration toward Cecilia.

He had been eagerly awaiting the day Cecilia would turn the tables and strike back at the Yancey family, especially given the terrible things they had done to her. Much to his surprise, he had the opportunity to witness it firsthand, which he found incredibly satisfying.

The others in the conference room quickly caught on and began to shower Cecilia with flattery.

However, Cecilia had no appetite for flattery. She slammed her hand on the conference table, radiating a commanding

presence.

The flattery immediately vanished, and sycophantic expressions turned serious.

Cecilia glanced around coldly and said, “Actions speak louder than words. There will be significant reforms in the company’s policies, so those who just want to laze around can go ahead and submit their resignations.”

Her words made everyone uneasy, and they all vowed to give their best.

Yancey Corporation’s past troubles were behind them, and they were determined not to lose their well–paying jobs. Cecilia placed her trust in results rather than empty promises.

“The company will conduct a performance review every month, and those who fail to meet the standards shall resign.”

Afterward, she turned her gaze to Christopher and said, “Next, Mr. Forte will discuss the company’s future operational management.”

To put it bluntly, Christopher placed his people within Yancey Corporation to supervise and manage the senior executives. He assigned his management team members as heads of various departments.

As for the senior executives, their positions were demoted by one level, impacting their job titles and their salaries.

While they harbored significant reservations, they did not dare to voice them and accepted the changes with forced smiles.
