Even though Juliana had a lot of pursuers, the combined wealth of everyone couldn’t muster up to 2 billion dollars.

Furthermore, with Juliana’s current state, there wasn’t anyone willing to spend money on her.

Except for the ment*lly deranged Yancey family!

Cecilia popped a lustrous and translucent grape into her mouth.

The fruity and sweet taste spread across her mouth.

“Of course, the Yancey family wouldn’t want to pay for the breach of contract fees for Juliana, but they have to fill the pit they’ve dug themselves.”

Yvette didn’t understand her at all. “What do you mean?”

“Jeremiah and Jayden felt sorry for Juliana because she was kidnapped and humiliated previously, so they wanted to promote her as a top singer and megastar. When Juliana took on the endorsements, scripts, and commercial performances, the financiers, worried that issues might arise, made them her guarantors.”

Yvette suddenly understood. “Therefore, the exorbitant

compensation that should have been paid by Juliana ended up on the hands of those foolish brothers.”

After saying that, she suddenly let out a loud exclaim, “Ah!”

“I have to quickly tell my sister to stay from that idiot Jayden.”

Yvette had a sister who lived abroad since childhood. She was a prominent reporter, always covering news worldwide and seldom returning home.

Cecilia detected the scent of gossip. “Is she dating Jayden?”

“It’s not exactly dating, they’re still in the getting–to–know–each–other phase. But she has a good impression of Jayden. I’m worried she might be too

love–struck to think straight.”

After Christopher had targeted the Yancey family, they found themselves in a difficult situation and sought an alliance with the Yates family.

Jayden had attended Yvette’s birthday party earlier primarily to get closer to Fiona Yates.

So, even though Yvette found ways to embarrass him, he endured it.

In truth, as long as it didn’t involve Juliana, the Yancey family was quite rational.

Therefore, Jayden and Fiona became friends that night.

However, Fiona was even busier than Jayden. They had never met each other in person again and usually contacted each other by phone after that.

Hearing that Fiona still had her wits with her, Yvette decided she did not need to do any more persuasion.

“It’s great that you have a plan. Just be careful around Jayden, Who knows what crazy things he might do.”

“Okay. You and Cecilia are close, Can you help me arrange a meeting with her?”

“I’ll ask for you.”

After hanging up the phone, Yvette told Cecilia about Fiona’s desire to interview her.

Considering Fiona’s high profile and her knack for making news go viral, Cecilia agreed with the request.

If the Yancey family were portrayed as a cautionary tale with societal implications, they could kiss any hope of redemption goodbye!

After obtaining Cecilia’s permission, Yvette shared her number with Fiona and asked Fiona to make the interview

appointment with Cecilia personally.

“Ceci, can I take a nap at your place?”

She had a dorm at Quilton University, but she wanted to take a short nap in Cecilia’s condominium.

“Sure, I’ll get you a blanket.”

The couch in the living room was large enough for napping. After their midday rest, they headed back to Quilton University for the afternoon exams.

The music and performing arts departments had theoretical exams in the morning and practical examinations in the afternoon.

She glanced at it and immediately forwarded it to Cecilia. “Ceci, you’ve got to see this.”

Seeing Yvette’s excited expression, Cecilia clicked on the link. It was a disciplinary announcement.

Out of the dozens of individuals who had sought Cecilia’s forgiveness in the morning, three were expelled, five received major disciplinary warnings, and the rest had their academic credits deducted.

Juliana was also among those who had been expelled, and her name was displayed in the largest, most prominent font. Such an outcome was within Cecilia’s expectation.

Although Juliana was cautious, with so many people involved in her endeavors, there was bound to be something about her that they could use to their advantage.

If she were still the first daughter of the Yancey family, no one would dare to use those advantages.

But now, she was someone who everyone would spit at!

Cecilia exited the link and bid farewell to Yvette. “Good luck with your exams.”

Yvette reluctantly held onto Cecilia’s arms and blinked her beautiful, big eyes.

“Ceci, after the exams, can we go out and have some fun?”

“I’ve got some things to attend to recently. Let’s make plans for another time.”

“What about your summer break? Do you want to go on a trip with me? We could leave the day after tomorrow.”

Yvette would always go on short trips during her break if she did not take on any acting projects.

But Cecilia had her holidays planned out for the next month.

Yvette went to the performing arts department, while Cecilia went to the music department.

In the afternoon, Cecelia took two exams. One was singing, and the other focused on music notation.

Both of the exams were evaluated on the spot.

Cecilia effortlessly secured first place in both of her exams. When she came out of the academic building, she spotted a familiar car parked in front of the building.

The car window was rolled halfway down, revealing the flawless profile of Christopher.

The sweltering heat streamed into the car, tousling his hair at the temples and bringing a lively touch to his otherwise impassive demeanor.

At that moment, the bell signaling the end of the exams rang.

Christopher turned his head toward the music department, and his gaze met Cecilia’s as she strode over.

Cecilia’s face brightened up with a brilliant smile and she quickened her pace.

Once she got in the car, she asked, “I thought I said I would head to the Emerald Mansion myself. Why are you here?”

“Today’s the first day of summer break, and many students have people picking them up. How could I not come?”

His words flowed warmly into Cecilia’s heart.

While she didn’t need anyone to pick her up, she felt delighted to have someone come for her.

Looking at the thoughtful man, she reached out and took his hand.

“Are we heading back to the Emerald Mansion now?”

“I’ll help you pack first. Staying at Emerald Mansion will make it easier for you to take care of me. Once my injury heals, I’ll take you to meet the person you want to see.”

Cecilia didn’t want to stay at the Emerald Mansion.

The security at Emerald Mansion was too tight. It would make it difficult for any hidden enemies to seize an opportunity and take action.

“I’d better live in my condominium. I’ll come to Emerald Mansion during the day to take care of you.”

Christopher understood what was on Cecilia’s mind and held her hand.

“It will be easier to lure the enemy out if you leave Quilton.”

Cecilia’s high–profile tactics were too conspicuous; anyone could see it was a trap.

The puppeteer behind the scenes wouldn’t make a move until they had absolute certainty.

It was only by leaving Quilton, getting away from the foolproof protection, that the opponent would be willing to take a

chance.

Cecilia shared the same thoughts as Christopher, but she didn’t want to leave any opportunities unexplored.

Looking back, she realized she had indeed been naive.

“Okay, I’ll temporarily move to Emerald Mansion to take care of you. Your injury will be better in another five days, and we’ll set off on the sixth day.”

With his objective achieved, Christopher’s sensual lips curled up slightly.

“Okay.”

Cecilia went to her condominium to pack her belongings and moved into Emerald Mansion.
