The Sweetest Trophy Wife by Beanie - Season 1 Episode 38
When Liam’s soft, concerned voice reached Gwyneth’s ears, it caught her off guard. Honestly, she couldn’t remember the last time someone had shown genuine concern for her well–being.
Gwyneth couldn’t help but think that the Glen family treated her like a complete stranger, like an enemy wishing for her downfall. In contrast, this man had gone so far as to ask a friend to track her down simply because he couldn’t reach her over the phone. While his behavior bordered on childish, it also warmed her heart. With that in mind, Gwyneth mustered a faint smile and was about to turn to Liam to express her gratitude.
Little did she expect that the next words out of his mouth would make her feel incredibly embarrassed.
“Honey, I never expected you to change so much after getting drunk,” Liam shifted in his seat to face Gwyneth, and their distance became uncomfortably close.
“Wh–What do you mean by that?” Gwyneth asked, her voice trembling.
“When I took you out of the bar, you held onto me tightly and wouldn’t let go.” Liam said, without even blinking his eyes. Being accustomed to maintaining a poker face while dealing with other business people, this was a breeze for him.
“And that’s not all. You also threw up all over me. So I had no choice but to remove your clothes.”
As Liam spoke, Gwyneth’s face turned even redder than it was when she was drunk the previous night.
Gwyneth retorted, “Liam Luther, y–you can’t just make baseless accusations! You have no evidence to support your claims.”
Liam countered. “Am I making up stories? Go ask the servants right now. They’re washing our clothes.”
“Th–Then how did I end up here?” Gwyneth spoke up again, her confidence clearly lacking.
“For the same reason I mentioned earlier. Because you clung to me and refused to let go.”
Gwyneth stared at Liam’s serious expression, unconsciously grinding her teeth. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she had fallen into a trap. ‘Do I really have to track down an eyewitness? she pondered. Unfortunately, it seemed futile, considering that all the possible witnesses were aligned with Liam. If word got out. it would only further her embarrassment.
Clenching her fist, Gwyneth couldn’t contain her emotions any longer. She let out a mournful cry and buried her face in her knees.‘ Consider this a lesson learned. I swear I’ll never drink like that again, I will not allow myself to end up completely wasted with Aubrey ever
again.”
As thoughts of Aubrey flashed through Gwyneth’s mind, she suddenly remembered her friend. She swiftly lifted her head, nearly catching a glimpse of a smirk forming on Liam’s lips.
Gwyneth asked. “You took me out of the bar yesterday. What about my friend? Did you just leave her at the bar?”
As Gwyneth spoke, Liam also recollected the events from the previous day. When he had found Gwyneth, he was consumed by anger and surprise, leaving him little time to worry about others. However, he was confident that her friend must be safe, considering Henry’s

Liam reached for the phone on the bedside table and dialed Henry’s number. Within seconds, a tired and lazy voice came through the
speaker. “Liam, what can I do for you?”
“Where is she?” Liam wasted no time getting to the point, subtly displaying his concern in front of Gwyneth.
“She had too much to drink. I brought her to the hotel” replied Henry.
Having received Henry’s response, Liam ended the call and relayed the information to Gwyneth.
Upon learning that Aubrey was at the hotel, Gwyneth felt a sense of relief. However, she knew she wouldn’t truly be at ease until she saw Aubrey with her own eyes. With that in mind, she promptly rose from her seal, preparing to go out and find her friend. Yet, as she made a slight movement, a realization struck her. She shot a glare at Liam, a mixture of annoyance and embarrassment washing over her. She was actually frustrated of herself.
“Would you mind going to my room and fetching me a set of clothes?”
Gwyneth looked at Liam, who was just staring at her without responding or refusing. She felt confused. As the awkwardness reached its
peak and became unbearable for her, Liam finally got up and exited the room. Out of Gwyneth’s sight, he wore a contented smile, fine lines forming at the corners of his eyes.
Once Liam returned with the clothes, Gwyneth took them and retreated into the bathroom to freshen up. It brought her a much–needed
sense of rejuvenation.
As Gwyneth descended the stairs, prepared to depart, she noticed Liam already waiting outside the door. He spoke. “Let’s go. I’ll
accompany you.”
Gwyneth had grown somewhat accustomed to Liam’s unnecessary attentiveness. Although she still couldn’t decipher his intentions, her lingering headache and the convenience of having a chauffeur made the offer appealing.
After the car pulled up at the hotel Liam guided Gwyneth to the designated room number provided by Henry. He lightly rapped on the door, and within moments, it swung open from the inside. Yet, when they laid eyes on Henry standing there, both Gwyneth and Liam couldn’t help but be taken aback.
Henry’s hair was disheveled, and his shirt hung on him in a messy state. He appeared annoyed as he spoke, “You guys arrived way too quickly. Can’t you let me get some sleep…”
