THE MERMAID PRINCESS - EPISODE 6

Moody’s POV
 
Where am I? The last thing I remember was going to the kitchen at Austin’s party in search of salt, but I don’t know what happened afterwards.

” Is she awake yet ?” Said a familiar voice I recognised as Grandpa. Ah I must be home then.

“No not yet. Lewis said she fell pretty hard.” Replied Ariel. 
Well that explains why I feel like I was hit in the head by a truck. Gosh I need some salt. I need to open my eyes.

“Hey, I think she’s waking up ”
I sat up so fast that my head became dizzy, blinking a few times allowing my eyes to adjust to the bright light of the room.

“Could you please stop talking so loud, my head is killing me and did I mention I need some salt.”

“Oh Mels, I’m so glad your awake. I thought you were dead but then I realised you were still breathing.” Said my crazy best friend.

“Your crazy, but I love you anyway. Now I need to go to the kitchen and get some salt which I wanted since the party but didn’t get.”

 Then I got up from my bed and proceeded towards the exit of my room.
Then I ran down the flight of stairs and entered the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator, took out a bottle of water then i opened the kitchen cabinet and grabbed the salt.

 I then poured the salt into my water and drowned it down. Ah refreshing.

“Dang girl! When you said you were thirsty you really meant it.” 
Ariel replied and by the look in her face, I could tell she was impressed.

“Well a mermaid’s got to do what a mermaid’s got to do” I replied with a chuckle.
“Hey why is your hand glowing?” Ariel said with a serious face.

“What are you talking about.” I asked her clearly confused but as I looked at my hand, i realized that Ariel was telling me the truth.
 As i opened the palm of my hand a lightning bolt shot out, hitting the kitchen counter causing it to burst into flames.

“OMG DID YOU JUST DO THAT? THAT WAS SO COOL! 
DO IT AGAIN” Ariel said screaming in excitement. Have I mentioned that she’s crazy.

“Are you nuts? This isn’t a time to rejoice, we should be putting out the fire before the whole house burns down” 

I said panicking as the fire seemed to grow bigger. God I wish it stopped.
Suddenly the fire vanished and I stood there with my mouth hanging open in shock. Okay what just happened.

“Okay what just happened” Ariel said voicing my thoughts.

“I don’t know, all I did was wish for the fire to stop and it did but wishes don’t come true right, I mean this isn’t a fairytale.

“Do it again?””Do what again? Start a fire or make a wish.””Make a wish” Ariel said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
I wish the Beach was in my backyard.

“Well what’d you wish for “”Let’s go check the backyard and we’ll see.” I said walking away with a very confused Ariel trailing closely behind.
I opened the back door and saw the beach. My wish came true again. Huh I wonder what’s going on.

“You wished for a beach in your backyard, that is so cool but why the beach though.”

“I need to take a swim my skins starting to scratch like when those scales appeared on my arm.” And with that I took off towards my room in search of my swim suit.

I entered my room, threw on my purple and pink swim suit and left my room but not before grabbing a towel on my way out.
“Come on in Ariel the waters fine.”

She shook her head ” no way but how about you wish for water lily to appear so we can ask her whats going on with you.

“That’s a good idea” I told her nodding. I wish water lily was here.

“Hey guys what am I doing here?” Said water lily a little confused.

“Well you see Mels here, just found that she could not only start a fire but also wish for things and they magically appear out of nowhere.”

“Oh I see, well congratulations Melody you have just received your first two powers.”

“Powers? I didn’t know that came with being a mermaid.”

“It doesn’t, it comes with being a mermaid princess.”
I realised then that this was all real so from hear on out I will fulfill my destiny and save my mom. I hope.
