The Xi Clan was a large, noble clan in the Ethereal City. In the olden times, however, the city only considered it as a second-grade clan. But ever since a member of the Xi Clan became the leader of the Ethereal Spirit Sect, the Xi Clan’s status had exponentially risen, and it became a part of the third-grade clans in Ethereal City.

The Xi Clan had almost ten thousand members, and they all lived in the Xi Clan’s castle, which lay in the east of the Ethereal City.

At dusk, the lanterns at the gate of the Xi Clan’s castle would illuminate everything around it. Since the lanterns relied on the life vitality to emit light, the low-grade life vitality crystals were put in them, and they had been able to light up the lanterns for years now. A low-grade life vitality crystal was not cheap and readily available for everybody, and so an ordinary family would not be able to afford it.

The light from the lanterns of the Xi Clan were outlining the walls of the entire castle. The sight was magnificent, and the common folk couldn’t help but admire the scenery of the night. They were amazed by the extreme wealth of the Xi Clan.

At night, groups of people would stroll around the square in front of the Xi Clan’s house or lean onto the railing of the bridge. Some people chatted casually and some admired the lanterns. It was the brightest place in the entire Ethereal City.

It was also because of this that many vendors had come to the area to set up stalls to sell all kinds of stuff, such as needlework and all kinds of small, strange accessories. There were also people who sold food, such as roasted sweet potatoes and meat kebabs, and their lovely scent filled the air.

“Are the Xi Clan’s lanterns really lit with life vitality crystals? They have so many lanterns, so it must mean that several hundred life vitality crystals are needed to light everything up!” A visitor couldn’t help but let out an awed gasp as he saw the Xi Clan’s many lanterns. Perhaps it was his first time to visit the Ethereal City, and see the Xi Clan’s castle.

“Don’t be so surprised. The lanterns of the Xi Clan have been lit up for decades. I believe that countless life vitality crystals have been consumed just to do that,” another visitor explained as he shook his head.

“This clan is indeed too rich. From what I’ve heard, even a thousand ounces of gold wouldn’t be enough to be exchanged for a life vitality crystal. I’m afraid that the Xi Clan is just wasting their gold!”

“What are you on about? The Xi Clan is a distinguished third-grade clan—their wealth is literally unimaginable! Gold and silver are like dung in the eyes of the warriors of the clan. Literally not worth anything!” another visitor said, rolling his eyes.

“Well, I really couldn’t imagine that. I don’t know what kind of life those warriors have, but if I could have another go at life, I would not choose to become a scholar when I was young. I just realized now a scholar is just a nobody in this society! Instead, I would choose to become a warrior,” the tourist complained.

“Oh God, that obviously is not the case! The world of warriors is bloody, and the Xi Clan must have traded many warriors’ lives for the survival of such a large clan!” The visitor chuckled. Turning to the guy next to him, he said, “Rumor has it that the young lady from the Xi Clan is looking for a suitable man to get married to. You know what? I think you are truly talented, impressive and charming. I think you might have a chance!”

It was well known that all throughout that month, the Xi Clan members had been busy trying to find a perfect man for their young lady to marry.

The Purple Power Body that the young woman had might prompt many things to get involved and it might also bring the clan members unprecedented trouble if she still didn’t get married. But as the largest clan in Ethereal City, the Xi Clan would not really let their young maiden to marry in a hurry.

When the news broke out that the clan was looking for the right man for her, it attracted a lot of young, handsome men from all over the region. After all, who wouldn’t want to marry her? She was beautiful, and a part of the big Xi Clan, which was supported by the leader of the Ethereal Spirit Sect. The one who would be lucky to marry the young lady would be very famous and powerful beyond his expectations.

“Me?” the guy said, confused. “Ha-ha! I’m afraid that I’m not good enough to even be a remote match for her,” the man, who had the surname of Han, responded as he slowly shook his head.

“Well, you seem to have a clear estimation of yourself. There are no less than a thousand young men who have gone to the Xi Clan’s castle. Some of them are even heaven-level talents. And those men are only in their twenties and thirties, but they have a very high cultivation base already! But you know what? Every one of them was rejected! The young lady has a very particular taste about men and not one of them has passed it!”
