Are you free? Jeff wondered why Professor Paul had hidden undergrounds in Arty City and Starry City when he was first introduced to Smartie and the others.

He didn’t want to be nosy then and didn’t really ask them the reason.

But after hearing all their stories, Jeff understood why they were all together. They all had the same objective and are familiar with the pain of losing a loved one.

Jeff didn’t know that Professor Paul had a sister nor the reason behind his disappearance years ago after they got to know each but it was very clear now…

Professor Paul had a goal to achieve.

He was also willing to assist, but something remains. Is this something that has anything to do with him? Even though he has nothing to do with any of this, why did Professor Paul insist that he join | the group?

Jeff wanted to ask this question, but Professor Paul assured him that he would provide as much information as possible at the appropriate time.

The next day, Jeff arrived at school.

Even though Billy was on the sickbed, Jeff didn’t miss school at all and attended all classes, department meetings, and many other important things.

Jeff had not seen Edward since the incident, and Edward seemed to be avoiding him as well.

But Edward’s luck is not in his favor this morning.

As he got out of the building, he bumped into Jeff who was entering the building.

With terror glaring in his eyes, Edward came to a stop. However, it lasted for a brief moment.

“Brother, it’s so good to see you” Edward | uttered, trying not to sound nervous. “l know | you are not happy to see me.”

“Bastard,” Jeff muttered to himself as he raised his head to give Edward a close inspection. Grasping him from the ground with just one hand, he pulled his collar.

Before Edward could process what was happening, a punch landed right on his right cheek. His nervous face was immediately struck with fear, anger, and surprise.

“What did you just do?” With short, sharp gasps for air, Edward posed the question.

Suddenly, Edward felt the strength in his leg | leave his body as another punch hit his other cheek.

| Jeff let him fall to the ground and lowered himself to look him in the eye. “Surprised, right?” Jeff gave a sly smile. “I do not think it is the best idea to ignore you anymore. Perhaps getting punched will reveal to you how horrible you really are.” “What? Are you worried that | might harm you or your friends in some way?” With a strange, blood-streaked smile on his lips, Edward asked.

What is to be hidden, when Jeff was already aware of it? “Stop being so petty and stop involving other people in our messy business,” Jeff responded, ignoring Edward’s flushed face.

‘Involve others? | just shared some useful information about you with Doctor Tony.

Edward responded, “I already told you | am not done with you,” despite the excruciating pain in his mouth.

Just as Jeff was ready to strike him once more, his hand was abruptly grabbed. Jeff pulled back, his eyes meeting the one who had pulled his hand despite the lack of force in the hold.

“Please stop, don’t do this here. Tonia whispered, “There are others observing,” and she gently took Jeff’s arm.

Jeff turned to look around and was taken aback to see students congregating already.

Another gossip for them to pick on.

He wrenched Tonia’s hand away and got to his feet. He glanced at Edward one last time.” The next time, | might do something more than just hit you. | am not going to ask you to use caution.” He turned to leave, unaffected by the looks and murmurs that were going on.

Jeff gave Edward two punches because he knew he would not stop doing whatever it was he was doing.

Since he was raised in a certain way and has never experienced physical abuse, Edward will not leave Jeff alone until he gets what he wants.

He wants Jeff to suffer, he doesn’t want him to be known as a genius but as a bad person.

Edward was accustomed to Jeff being made fun of and ignored, but after things took a bad turn, he started to find everything bothersome and would stop at nothing to make Jeff look bad.

And Jeff simply reasoned that perhaps the

blows would inform him that if he (Edward) tried any ploys, he would not get away with it.

Jeff did not let the rumors bother him as he went to class as usual.

Things are starting to get on Jeff’s nerves a little bit since it was revealed that Billy jumped from the building on his own initiative.

He was not even the one who leaped from the building, but they all give him a pitying glance.

Of course, not everyone will be sympathetic. A few boys went so far as to confront him and inquired whether he was harassing Billy. They questioned him about whether Billy’s decision to jump from the building was due to him.

But he ignored them.

*After class* Jeff’s eyes were met with a chorus of squeals and flashes of light as he got closer to the exit.

A crowd had gathered at the door, taking frantic pictures with expressions on their faces that said everything from excitement to

admiration.

Jeff was initially perplexed, but as soon as he entered the doorway, he realized what was making all the noise.

Leaning nonchalantly against the wall was Jamie.

Today, her aura was different, her presence more alluring than before.

The subtle grace Jamie usually exuded was missing.

Rather, she was wearing a casual outfit that no one had ever seen her wear before.

Her hair was a bright blue color instead of her natural color, and she was wearing a stylish tank top, leg-shining denim shorts, and edgy black boots.

Jamie walked over to Jeff and smiled brightly when she saw that he was staring at her.

“Hey Jeff, are you free for lunch?” she asked, her voice as lovely as ever.
