THE CROWN - EPISODE 30

I slowly walked into a busy palace with the maids and guards running Helter skelter.

“The princess is here” one of them announced.

Thank goodness I didn’t let Ngozi come with me otherwise she’ll be in trouble. Ikenna and Emenike ran out

The guards and maids bowed as I walked pass them to the brothers.

“Greetings” I bowed my head slightly and awaited the questions forthcoming

“Where did you go?” Ikenna asked.

“Personal business your highness” I replied with my head still in a bow

“I sent guards to the woman’s head but you weren’t there”

“I was at my parent’s” I lied

“I went there myself, you weren’t there”

Hmmm.. how long and how much have they searched? I kept mute since I had nothing to say.

He held me by my wrist and pulled me out of the scene, headed for the bedchamber.

“Tell me where you are coming from” he ordered in a tone that made his baritone voice even deeper

“One doesn’t tell enemies his plans and progress”

He turned his back, brushing his hand over his head like a man who was frustrated.

He turned back and grabbed my arm forcefully pulling me few inches away from his face.

His breath was all over me and I could see the mixed emotions in this eyes. Anger, frustration or….? What could it be?

“I am your husband and I could never be your enemy. What is wrong with you?” His grip got tighter that it hurt even more

I gritted my teeth “even if your grip falls my hands down today, I won’t stop this fight for what is right”

Our eyes gazing deeply at each other, the pains in my soul and the rapid beats of my heart.

“I can’t lose you, please” he left one arm and held my face before crashing his lips mine.

He kissed me like he was scared, emotions running through me and the beats of my heart.

He let go my left arm and held my waist, pulling me deeper into him.

My hands wrapped around his waist as I kissed him back.

He let go of my lips and placed gentle kisses from my jaw down to my neck.

Licking and biting my skin softly.

My eyes closed and my mouth opening and gasping for air. He took my lips

“I can’t lose Adenike” he said and kissed me again

I pulled out of the kiss

“Then join me to protect me” I told him.

He searched my eyes, his fingers caressed my cheeks. He moved closer, I closed my eyes

He kissed me again, our tongues matching our heartbeats and the gentle touch of his lips on mine.

His hands moved up from my waist slowly,

tickling my back he made his to the tied knot of my chest piece of wrapper.

He started drawing it out and loosing it, he pulled it out.

My bosom got erect at the feel of his chest.

“Eh, urmm” I let out softy in his lips.

He pushed his chest tighter to my bosom,

the feeling was both sweet and intensed.

I want to stop him here before he gets further but I can’t,

I can’t let go of him.

Please stop! Please don’t stop! Different emotions riding me.

He stopped and pulled back a bit.

“It’s morning” he said

I wrapped my arms around myself.

“Yeah, it’s morning” I replied.

It was starting to get weird, I looked at him at intervals.

“Did it have to get weird?” I asked and we started laughing

“Your shyness made it so” he laughed.

“So…?” We stopped laughing.. I asked

He nodded

“We’re in this together” he said

I smiled, almost tearing up.

He held my hands

“Thank you” I rushed him in a hug

“Thank you so much” I said.

He patted my head,

“Ahhh, this feels good” he groaned.

I realized I was half naked. I ran to the bathroom with him laughing,

With him by my side things will get a lot better.

I had my bath and got changed, he wasn’t in the room anymore.

Now that he’s with me, I guess my restrictions has been lifted.

I left with my horsetail in my right hand and walked to the kitchen court.

“Greetings your highness”

“My princess”

“Greetings my princess”

They bowed, all shivering scared like I came with fire.

“Greetings, I’m not here to cook so don’t worry much”

I smiled

“My princess” Ngozi and two of my personal maids ran in.

They bowed their heads

“We’re sorry for not being in your service when needed”

“It’s fine”

I turned back to everyone

“Today I will be taking foodstuffs to every household in this village”

I stopped to look around at their faces

“Tubers of yams,onions, red oil, and everything excess in the palace storeroom”

Wait! I should let the King know about this

“Do as I’ve said, Get everything ready quickly, excuse me” I told them and left.

On my way to the King’s court, I bumped into Ikenna.

“Watch where you are going” I said dusting nothing off me

“That’s how restless I get when I’m not around you” he winked

I kissed my teeth at him, he laughed.

I walked, he pulled me back

“So much haste, what are you up to?”

“I’m going to the king’s Court” I responded

“Why?”

He questioned. This cat’s definitely over curious.

“Come with me to find out”

I snapped my fingers sarcastically, smiling.

I walked into the king with Ikenna behind me, the Queen sat beside him.

They smiled on seeing us, the Queen for her son only.. that I know.

“Greetings Father, Mother” we chorused.

“My children, what do we owe this visit?” The king asked.

I smiled raising my head “your highness, I would love to take permission”

“Go on”

“I will love to distribute foodstuffs to every household in the village but with your permission”

I bowed my head again.

“Hmmm, with what intentions?”

The Queen questioned, her tone was doubtful.

“You have my permission, take as much as you want to distribute” the King said.

I raised my head, his lips were curved in a satisfied smile.

“Thank you your majesty. Thanks Father, I appreciate”

“Guardddssss!” He screamed.

Guards ran in and bowed their heads.

“Organize guards to go with the princess on her visit to the villagers today. Princess Adenike, you can take as much hands you’ll be needing”

He said. I was so happy that I couldn’t stop smiling.

“Ikenna, are you going with her?” The Queen asked

He nodded “yes mother”

I went back to the kitchen.

“How much rice does the Royal storeroom court have?” I asked the head cook

“Enough to go till the next festive period”

“Pack for the villagers” I ordered.

In a jiffy everything was set and we were heading for the distribution. I have the villager’s best interest at heart, but I hope this will convince them that I’m indeed after their good.
