The CEO’S Unplanned Heir ( Aurelia Hawthorne ) - Season 4 Episode 17
Aurelia lowered her gaze, putting on a bitter smile. “My leg is healing well, and there’s nothing left to tie
me here. I should go back and settle all my old affairs. Leopold tore up the divorce papers, but we
never officially divorced. I think it’s time to go back and finalize that. Then, he and I will be completely
severed.”
Arnold felt a small relief at her words. He gripped her hand, his eyes pleading. “Aurelia, once you’re
divorced… Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?”
“Yes,” she nodded, her mind briefly flashing with an image of Leopold. He never loved her, only treating
her like a possession. She owed him nothing.
But her debt to Arnold was so much. Were it not for him, she’d have died on that deserted island, her
bones left to bleach in the sun.
His kindness, his life–saving gesture; she’d need a lifetime to repay him.

The door to the room cracked open. Kane peered out, his heart thumping.
He heard his father’s name. So, she really was his mom! Was she divorcing his father? Why didn’t she
want his father, or him?
His wristwatch buzzed, and he quickly shut the door to answer.
It was William.
“Oh no, your dad’s coming back to Elysium. We haven’t switched back yet, what do we do?”
Kane said, “Don’t panic, your parents are also going to Elysium. We’ll find an opportunity to switch
once we get there.”
William said, “Okay, but don’t forget to bring Chirpy.”
Kane asked out of curiosity, “Who’s Chirpy?”
William replied, “Our pet parrot, and my little brother.”
Kane was speechless.

William hung up and climbed into the car with Leopold.
Leopold looked stern and cold, like he’d be difficult to live with.
William found himself missing his mom and dad. He hoped they’d come to Elysium soon.

His head ached, as did his heart.
He felt like a venomous snake was coiling in his chest, its fangs sinking into his heart,
causing sharp, intermittent pain.
Aurelia was alive, but he was still losing her.
Once he let go, once he gave her back her freedom, he knew she would leave him forever.
“Sir… I mean, Dad,” William corrected himself. “Are you looking for Mom?”
Leopcid reached over, patting his head. “Your mom will be back soon.”
William’s heart sank. If his mom was taken away, what would he and his dad do?
“But what if Mom doesn’t want to come back?”
“She will,” Leopold said firmly. “As long as I find her, she won’t be able to run away.”
William stuck out his tongue. His mom belonged to him and his dad. He would never let Leopold steal
her away.
“Mom didn’t like you, that’s why she left.”
The words were like a knife to Leopold’s heart, a fresh wound salted. Pain radiated from his chest, his
teeth grit in response.
Kevin, in the driver’s seat, glanced at William through the rearview mirror. The little master was acting
strange today. Why would he say something like that?
“Kane, who told you that?” Leopold asked.
“I guessed,” William stuck out his tongue.
Kevin was shocked. William’s expressions seemed more varied today. Usually, he was as stoic as
Leopold, a man of few words who rarely smiled. He’d never seen him stick out his tongue or make
faces before.
Leopold closed his eyes, lost in his pain, ignoring his son.
The thought of Aurelia loving Arnold twisted his insides, like a swarm of ants gnawing at his flesh. The
pain was unbearable.
