She was the spitting image of the woman in his photo! Before he had a chance to react, Aurelia had

already hailed a yellow cab and scooped him up Into her lap.

Aurelia’s heart was pounding wildly, her mind in a whirl. She was so caught up in her own thoughts that

she didn’t notice the boy’s unusual behavior.
Kane just stared at Aurelia, his heart a tumultuous sea of emotions. Ever since he was old enough to

understand, his mother had just been a photograph in his father’s phone. Everyone said his mother

was dead, but she didn’t have a tombstone because his father wouldn’t allow it.

Every time his mother was mentioned, his father would become upset, lock himself in his room, and

drink alcohol until he was hospitalized with a bleeding ulcer.

He didn’t dare bring it up anymore, and no one else in the house did either.

His nose tingled, and he sneezed.

Aurelia snapped back to reality and pulled him into her embrace. “Honey, you’ve caught a cold too. We

need to get you some vitamin C when we get home.”

It was then that she remembered she needed to buy lemons. Luckily, there was a grocery store near

their hotel where she could pick some up.

Kane nestled his head into her bosom. “Is this what a mother’s embrace feels like? It’s so warm!” He

thought, and he decided then and there that he would stick around to figure out who this woman was.

Could she be his mother?

At the supermarket.

William still stood in front of the screen, watching a chess match.

A burly man rushed over and scooped him up. “Little Master, how did you get here? You scared me to

death.”

William was the one who was scared to death. “Who are you? Put me down right now, or I’m going to

call for my mommy.”

The bodyguard, Badi, was taken aback. The Little Master seemed to be acting out of character, but

children often acted out, so he didn’t think much of it and continued

towards the exit.

“Little Master, stop fooling around. Let’s go back to the car and wait for Mr. Leopold.”

William was terrified, and he let out a loud cry. “Mommy! Mommy!”

Badi was breaking out in a cold sweat. Mr. Leopold had just said that he saw his wife here, and Kevin

was on his way with a large group of people to search for her.

Could the Little Master have seen her too?

“Little Master, don’t worry. Mr. Leopold is looking for his wife. If she’s still alive, he’ll find her.”

William didn’t understand a word he was saying. He looked around the supermarket for his mommy,

but all he saw was a tall, handsome man approaching.

Leopold had searched the entire supermarket but found no sign of Aurelia. This time, he was sober

and certain that he had seen a person, not a ghost!

He took out his phone and called Kevin, telling him not to come to the supermarket but to search the surrounding area instead. The person they were looking for had likely already left the supermarket.

William’s gaze drifted to the photo on his phone, and he was taken aback.

It was a family portrait of a man, a woman, and a child! In the photo, the woman standing next to the

man was his mother, and the child they were holding was him! No, no, no. He quickly denied it. The

boy in the photo was wearing a plaid suit, but he never wore suits.

What is going on? This man’s wife looked just like his mother, and their child looked just like him!

Leopold ordered the bodyguard to take his son back to the hotel.

His son had caught a cold, and he had come to buy lemons for him. He had not expected to run into

Aurelia here!

William didn’t struggle anymore and left with the bodyguard. He decided to figure out who this man was

and what the photo was all about.

Aurelia bought some lemons at the grocery store.

While she was paying, Kane saw a photo of a little boy on her phone.

He thought it was him at first, but the boy in the photo was dressed in a baseball uniform, holding a

baseball bat, and looked like he was about to catch a ball.

He never played baseball! So, that wasn’t him. It was just a boy who looked exactly like

him.

No wonder his mother had mistaken him!
