William picked up a piece of pancake, slathered it with a layer of blueberry jam, and took a big bite.

“Delicious, pancake and blueberry jam, a perfect match!”

Chirpy, with sneaky steps, quietly approached along the edge of the dining table. “Let me try, let me

try!”

William stuck his tongue out at him. “This is mine, you can’t have any.”

“Stingy, so stingy.” Chirpy turned his head away, pretending to be upset.

William sighed like an adult and spread a little jam on Chirpy’s pancake. “You can only have a little bit, or you’ll get a tummy ache.”

Chirpy was satisfied and returned to his own plate, pecking at the pancake. “Yummy, yummy.”

Aurelia laughed and took a bite of her pancake, turning to her son. “William, we are going to Hawaii

tomorrow. You’ll need to pack your things later.”

“Sure thing, Mummy.” William bobbed his head obediently. He had his plans all figured out, including

learning how to surf from Daddy and going to see the volcanoes.

The Hawaiian sun was warm and inviting.

Kids adapt quickly, and Kane acclimated to this place in no time. He was the youngest international

competitor and the competition was scheduled for the next day.

After studying the chess for a while, chatting with his grandparents, he went to bed early. Leopold

poured himself a glass of whiskey and headed out to the balcony. Every night, he needed the

numbness of alcohol to fall asleep.

The alcohol was also severely damaging his stomach, causing him frequent pains.

As the night deepened, he started to feel tipsy. A full moon hung high in the sky, illuminating the quiet,

rocky beach in the distance.

In the moonlight, Leopold caught a slender silhouette among the rocks. This silhouette was so familiar!

Leopold squinted, looking from a distance. The sea breeze was rustling the woman’s hair, making it

dance in the wind. His heart pounded in his chest. It was the shadow that haunted his dreams, the one

he would recognize anywhere, anytime!

“Aurelia…” He rushed out like a hurricane.

Aurelia seemed to hear someone calling her name. She turned her head, looking around at the pitch–

black surroundings. There was no one in sight. It must be an illusion!

She set down her cane and sat on a rock, watching the violent waves crash against the rocks, breaking

into pieces.

The moon was beautiful here, but she still thought the moon in Elysium was bigger and rounda.

Perhaps it was homesickness?

A gust of sea breeze brought a low, hoarse voice. “Aurelia!”

That voice… Her heart pounded. It must be an illusion!

Was it a side effect of the nerve repair factor she had injected in the afternoon? She injected nerve

“Aurelia, is that you?” The voice was closer, so clear that it seemed to be right behind her.

A shadow cast over her, blocking the moonlight behind her.

turned her head.

A familiar and handsome face appeared before her eyes. The moonlight painted a golden halo around

Leopold, making him seem as if he had walked out of a dream, so unreal.

Aurelia couldn’t believe her eyes, couldn’t believe that she would see him here. She seriously doubted

her own senses, rubbing her eyes hard, but he didn’t disappear.

His deep eyes were fixed on her, as if worrying that she would disappear if he blinked.

“Aurelia, is it really you?” He cupped her face, his slender fingers gently brushing her forehead,

eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth, as if to imprint her once again into his soul and memory.
