Leopold gulped down a shot of bourbon, hoping the strong alcohol could numb his inner restlessness.

Kevin entered, “Ms. Aurelia arrived with Mr. Arnold. She’s likely staying at his secret villa. Our men are

discreetly searching for it.”

He paused, then added softly, “Ms. Aurelia should be safe for now staying with Mr. Arnold.”

Leopold rubbed his throbbing temple. Safe? He didn’t feel it at all.

Kevin presented a pile of documents, “These are border entry records of all infants in the last two

months. We’re checking them one by one. Aaron has bribed the local smugglers to investigate illegal

channels.”

Leopold nodded slightly. Kevin understood that he needed some alone time and left.

The room was as silent as a tomb, so quiet he could hear his own heavy breathing. It felt like he was

the only person left in the world.

He thought he didn’t love Aurelia.
