Evelyn was pregnant, and a wedding was in the works, slated for two months later, just after she’d

“Does Mr. Leopold still want this child?”

Leopold scoffed, his tone nonchalant, “Just an illegitimate child, one more or less won’t make a

difference.”

He deliberately emphasized the word ‘illegitimate.’

That evening, Leopold hadn’t returned home yet.

Aurelia sat by the crib, her gaze

fixed on Kane.

Was the child in the photo really not Liam?

Was her Liam really gone?

An email notification pinged.

It was an audio recording.

“Just an illegitimate child, one more or less…” It was Leopold’s voice.

Each word in the recording exploded like a bomb in Aurelia’s mind, causing her head to throb and her

stomach to churn.

Leopold had lied to her!

Liam was alive, truly alive!

But Leopold had no intention to save him, he didn’t want Liam anymore!

She felt as if all her energy was drained, collapsing onto the bed, her back chilled, limbs trembling.

Was her Liam injured? Sick? Was he cold, hungry?

In a dim room, a frail infant lay on a wooden bed, occasionally opening his eyes to look around pitifully,

as if searching for his parents.

Aurelia felt her heart twist in pain, tears streaming down her face like a dam had burst.

Aurelia didn’t know the sender’s intentions, but for her child, she was ready to go through hell and high

These messages were the last straw for Aurelia.

Her child was suffering in the hands of the enemy, while he was planning to marry another woman!

Leopold walked in, her tears caught his eye, causing his heart to flutter, “What’s wrong?”

She turned to him, his figure started to blur behind her tear–filled vision.

“Why did you lie to me? Liam is alive, isn’t he? You don’t plan to save him, do you?”

Leopold rubbed his temples, “I have my own plan.”

“Your plan is to marry Evelyn and have more children, isn’t it? I’m just nobody who is not worthy to be

your wife, so the child I bore means nothing to you. Only the child Evelyn bears is precious to you,

right?”

She couldn’t control her emotions, growing more agitated, her voice rising with every word.
