He knew she wouldn’t tell the truth, nor would Leopold allow her to. She could only bear all the

grievances herself, swallowing them like bitter pills.

Like a hurricane, he rushed over and pulled her into his arms, “I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I didn’t protect

would shoulder this responsibility for her.

Jolin was taken aback, fearing she had heard wrong, “Arnold, what did you just say?”

Avery heard it loud and clear, and took over, “Mom, Amo said the child is his.”

Jolin’s tight nerves instantly relaxed, “Aurelia, why don’t you tell me the truth? You scare me to death.”

The child was Arnold’s, which made things much easier. They could naturally get married.

Aurelia was in turmoil, wanting to say something, but all the words were stuck.

Arnold held her face, looking deeply into her eyes, full of tenderness, “Aurelia, with me here, you don’t
