When Aurelia was rushed into the emergency room, she could no longer muster the strength to stay

conscious and passed out.

When she awoke, it was already nightfall.

As she opened her eyes, a handsome and familiar face came into focus.

Leopold’s brow was furrowed, his face as pale as a sheet, filled with worry and anxiousness, and a

touch of lingering fear.

She shivered slightly, hastily reaching to touch her belly, “The babies, how’s the babies?”

“Our babies are fine.” Leopold reached out, gently stroking her hair, his voice slightly hoarse.

He had rushed over as soon as he received Yuna’s call. Even now, all his nerves were still taut, he

couldn’t

relax.

Tears welled up in Aurelia’s eyes, and she couldn’t stop them from falling, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t keep the

secret. They all know now…” She was scared, scared that he would be angry, that he would scold her!

Her crying was a stab to Leopold’s heart, it felt as though his insides were being torn apart. He pulled

her into his arms, “This is not your fault. You did well.“.

Kevin had shown him the office surveillance. Had she not slipped off her coat to escape, had she

reacted a split second later, the consequences would have been unimaginable!

He had to admit, she was a brave and extraordinary woman. Her petite frame hid a tremendous energy

that left him in awe.

Perhaps his embrace was warm enough to calm her turbulent emotions, her crying subsided to a low

“What do we do now?”

“I’ll find a quiet place for you to rest and take care of the babies.”

Aurelia guessed this would be the safest option, but she didn’t want to hide.

“Destiny‘ is about to launch, I can’t leave now. Even though everyone knows I’m pregnant, they don’t

know the babies are yours. Even your aunt isn’t certain if it’s the result of artificial insemination. If I

hide, it would confirm her suspicions and everyone will know. Both open and covert attacks will come

my way. It’s better to live as usual, confuse them and keep them guessing.”

Leopold fell silent, his face solemn and thoughtful. After a while, he said, “I’ll get you an assistant.”

Aurelia nodded, aware that the ‘assistant‘ was essentially a bodyguard.

Word of her pregnancy spread quickly around the corporation, with two versions emerging among the

gossipers. The first was that Aurelia had a wild night at a club, ended up with a stranger, and got

pregnant. She didn’t even know who the father of her baby was. This was the version Aurelia had

spread herself. The other was that the baby was Arnold’s, and Aurelia was about to marry into the

Stirling family, becoming the big boss‘ sister–in–law.

Her relationship with Arnold was no secret, many people knew about it.

According to Stirling family tradition, there was a family gathering once a month. Family members from

Elysium would come to the Stirling mansion for a meal.

Since the second son and Arnold were abroad, only some collateral branches and Fredric’s families

were

present. Leopold brought Evelyn with him.

This was Evelyn’s first time entering the Stirling mansion, and she was internally squealing with

excitement.

Even though the Alcott family was also upper–class, it paled in comparison to the Stirling family.

There was a hierarchy even among the wealthy, with the Stirling family standing at the apex.

What Leopold’s action implied was clear to everyone.

Elara also came, looking utterly worn out. Elowen’s daily tantrums had left her exhausted. She had

obtained a medical certificate from a psychiatrist to get Elowen out on bail.

She came to find out the truth about the baby in Aurelia’s belly.
