A chilling glint flashed in his eyes, a surge of frustration quietly rising and churning within him.

Evelyn spotted Aurelia and sneered, “The word was that Arnold and Sophie were getting quite close. I

thought he’d end things with Aurelia. Can’t believe they’re still together.”

Leopold’s brow furrowed slightly, a frosty tension hidden beneath.

End things with her? They were never involved. But they were not entirely innocent either!

The thought of some old affair between them made his blood boil.

“Don’t believe every wild rumor you hear.”

Evelyn, assuming he was referring to the supposed fling between Arnold and Sophie, wisely shut her

trap.

In a corner of the grand party hall, Arnold took a small sip of his cocktail, his gaze lingering on Aurelia’s

beautiful face. Among all the supermodels in Bali, none caught his eye anymore. He was eager to see

her again.

He enjoyed the ease and comfort of being with her, her quirky charm, lively spirit, and her empathy.

In the past, he had countless women, but his heart remained hollow, no one was able to penetrate it.

But Aurelia quietly slipped in, taking root and filling every corner in his heart.

“Only a week since I saw you, but feels like forever.”

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” Avery chuckled from the side. Isn’t that just how lovers are?

Aurelia gave him a glance and smiled faintly, “It shows the importance of a good friend. When

something good or bad happens, you want to share it with them.”

Arnold flashed a charming smile, his gaze on her soft and tender, “Indeed, I came across quite a few

interesting things in Bali. I’ll tell you all about it when we have some time.”

“Sounds good,” her smile blossomed.

As they chatted, they saw Elowen walk in. Surprisingly, she didn’t go to Leopold or start a catfight with

Evelyn. Instead, she walked straight to them and sat next to Aurelia.

“Arnold, Aurelia, notice anything different about me today?”

Arnold was confused, “Why didn’t you go to Leopold?”

Elowen tossed her hair over her shoulder. She was consulting a dating expert, learning the ropes. Men

are to be, not smothered, but tantalized!

“From now on, I’m no longer the naive girl who was always trailing Leopold like a shadow. I’m going to

win him over with my charm.”

Aurelia saw it. She took her advice and changed her strategy.

She gave a thumbs–up, “You go, girl. Show ‘em what you got, Ms. Elowen!”

Arnold felt sympathy for his determined cousin. From a man’s perspective, she was fighting a losing

battle.

He could see that Leopold was dead set on breaking off the engagement this time.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t flaunt his love for Evelyn so openly.

“Elowen, there are other fish in the sea. You don’t have to keep pining for Leopold.”

“I don’t care. I only love Leopold, and if he dares not to marry me, I won’t let him off,” Elowen declared

Aurelia rubbed her forehead. This was definitely true love, just a shame it was a one–way street!

Leopold was seated directly across from her, his icy gaze occasionally cutting through the crowd to

hers.

He couldn’t see it. How was she in any way depressed? Laughing and joking with Arnold, she seemed

perfectly fine. Emotional turmoil, depression, those were just for him, weren’t they?

As soon as Arnold showed up, her hormones normalized!

His fingers tightened in annoyance, but his face remained cold, like a mask of ice, freezing all

emotions. within, so Evelyn didn’t notice anything amiss.
