“What?! “Aurelia jolted, “You think someone silenced them?”

“Who knows?” Elowen grumbled, “Yesterday morning, the waitress was released from detention. That

night, she went to a bar with her boyfriend and after a few drinks, they drove into a tree. The car

erupted into flames immediately. They were both burned beyond recognition.”

She paused, curling her lip, “The police ruled out foul play. They’re saying it was a simple traffic

accident.”

Aurelia made a face, “If it really was an accident…maybe karma found them? Didn’t your mom send

someone to question that waitress in the police station? Did they get any info?”

“That woman clammed up tight, insisting that I had orchestrated it all. No one else has approached her

since. Whoever they are, they must’ve paid her a hefty sum to keep her quiet.” Elowen’s anger was

palpable.

Aurelia sighed, “Now there’s no witness to your innocence. It’s going to be even harder for you to clear

your

name.”

Frustrated, Elowen slammed her fist on the table, “The person who recorded the video is still out there.

I will turn every stone until I find them.”

Aurelia handed her an alcohol free drink, to prevent her from getting too drunk.

The boss wasn’t in the office, so no one was there to drive Elowen home.

The worst part was, no one would pick up the check!

“Ms. Elowen, I’ll support you, no matter what.”

Elowen grabbed her drink, guzzling it down, “Do you know what Leopold is doing right now? He’s at the

racecourse, sweet–talking with Evelyn. It’s driving me crazy!”

She had come straight from the racecourse, after being ruthlessly driven away by Leopold.

She pulled out her phone, playing a video she had recorded. Aurelia glanced at the screen, the two of

them were riding the same horse, openly flaunting their relationship!

Her heart twisted, as if it had been stabbed.

This man, who came to the apartment every night to read bedtime stories to their babies, was a perfect

father.

Yet during the day, he was all sweet and romantic with another woman, a loving boyfriend!

He was having the best of both worlds. And he said he didn’t inherit Mr. Chad’s flirtatious genes, but he

was taking it to a whole new level!

She took a sip of her orange juice, it was so sour!

The intense sour taste spread from her tongue to her core.

“Ms. Elowen, you’re too passive in this relationship. Evelyn has made herself into the perfect

replacement for Megan and that’s why she’s caught the boss‘ eye. You need to make him see the truth,

Evelyn will never be Megan!”

Elowen slammed her hand on the table, “You’re right!”

Aurelia took a bite of her lobster, then changed her tone, “However, I think all of your uncle’s sons have

inherited his flirtatious genes. If you want the boss to be faithful, it’s probably impossible. You better

prepare yourself.”

This hit Elowen’s weak spot.

She gritted her teeth, “Any vixen who dares to seduce him, I’ll make her pay.”

Aurelia got her some water, “I’ve heard that in the Stirling family, being jealous is a deal–breaker for

women. Otherwise, your aunt wouldn’t have put up with everything for so many years.”

This hit Elowen’s weak spot again, making her heart twitch, “The Stirling family’s rules are too

outdated, it’s about time they change.”

Aurelia chuckled, “The Stirling family is run by men. You really think they would limit their own

freedom?”

Each word hit Elowen’s heart, making her sullen.

“What will you do if Arnold cheats on you in the future?”

Aurelia smiled, “Arnold and I are just friends now, it’s too early for us to think about that. Why don’t you

ask your cousin–in-law, Sheryl, what would she do if her husband cheated on her?”

She cleverly shifted the topic.
