The rest of the top brass around the table nodded in agreement.

Leopold lounged comfortably in his executive chair, quietly observing the woman’s eloquent discourse.

He sat slightly sideways, his left arm resting on the armrest, long fingers propping up his stern cheek. He seemed nonchalant, yet his aura was palpable.

At that point, Aurelia turned her attention to him, “Mr. Leopold, what’s your take on this?”

Leopold’s eyes were deep and inscrutable, like an ancient, unfathomable lake.

With a couple of gentle taps on the table, he opened his mouth slowly, “Move Destiny’s launch to December.” Evelyn’s mouth twitched, about to say something, but then she held her tongue.

After the meeting, Mr. Harry and Aurelia took the same elevator downstairs.

Mr. Harry whispered, “Ethereal Gems is launching their new product in December too. Leopold is clearly setting up a head–to–head competition.”

Aurelia, initially in high spirits, felt as if she had been stabbed in the back.

“Leopold must think highly of Destiny. It’s our time to prove our worth, Mr. Harry. We cannot let him down.”

She flashed a smile and stepped out of the elevator.

She was resilient, bouncing back stronger with every challenge!

Back in the Design Department, she sent an email notifying everyone about the change in the product launch schedule, with a CC to the Marketing Department.

Evelyn was upset. She had finally secured the best sales resources, ready to crush the competition, her hard work now seemed wasted.

Was she underestimating Aurelia?

Aurelia seemed harmless, but whenever she was backed into a corner, she always found a way to fight back.

Evelyn forced a smile, “To celebrate our upcoming product launch, I’m treating everyone sushi at Kaiseki for lunch.”

Her team, initially disheartened, perked up at the news.

“Kaiseki serves top–tier sushi.”

“The tuna sashimi is delicious.”

“I only dare to go once a month, so I don’t go broke.”

Aurelia took a sip of her milk in silence.

She had to admit, Evelyn certainly knew how to win people over.

All because she had money.

Money makes the world go round.

She sent a text in the group chat, “Let’s all have lunch together at the restaurant across the street.”

“Alright, boss. I’ll book a private room.”

Her team quickly responded.

At noon, Evelyn’s personal assistant arrived, pushing a wheelchair, “Miss, I’ve already reserved a table at the

sushi restaurant.”

Evelyn nodded, sat in the wheelchair, and gestured for her team to join her.

As they left, the Design Department’s office became quiet.

Darcy said, “Evelyn sure lives up to her heiress status. A minor injury and she needs a personal assistant to chauffeur her around.”

Jenny shrugged, “Who else would dare to openly compete with Ms. Elowen for the boss‘ attention?”

Aurelia couldn’t agree more.

An ordinary person wouldn’t have had the audacity, let alone catch the boss‘ eye.

Like her, for instance, a mere commoner. She was considered as a vessel.

Lily whispered, “Ms. Elowen has been quite reckless this time. Heard that the Alcott family is forcing her to publicly apologize. The boss is quite upset about it. She had put herself into a corner.”

Aurelia could imagine Elowen’s frustration. If this had been a private matter, it would have been a minor dispute.

But it happened during Astral Enterprises‘ anniversary party, in front of many influential figures, which was quite unseemly and damaging to her reputation.

With the Alcott family making a fuss and spreading the news among the elite circles, even Elara couldn’t sweep it under the rug.
