The CEO’S Unplanned Heir ( Aurelia Hawthorne ) - Season 2 Episode 21
“Don’t worry, it’s on me.” Elowen responded with a hearty slap on her chest. When it came to dealing with Evelyn, she was always willing to step up.
Aurelia grinned mischievously.
Evelyn had backed her into a corner, and she wouldn’t just sit there and take it.
What she was doing today might be a bit underhanded, but for the sake of the team, she had to go all in.
Desperate times called for desperate measures.
She couldn’t let down the people who trusted her!
Their livelihoods were all tied to her!
After two cans of beer, Elowen was completely drunk, slumping onto the table without moving a muscle.
Aurelia was dumbfounded.
Shouldn’t Ms. Elowen at least bring a bodyguard when she goes out? What now?
Rubbing her forehead, she mulled over her options and decided to call the big boss.
“Mr. Leopold, I’m at the near Italian Restaurant with Ms. Elowen, she’s had a bit too much to drink. Can you send someone to pick her up? And…could you also settle the bill?”
There was silence on the other end of the line, before a cold voice responded, “Understood.”
Soon enough, Kevin arrived, paid the bill, and helped Elowen into the car.
“Manager Aurelia, Mr. Leopold wants you to go to his office when you get back.”
“Oh.” Aurelia shrank back, already guessing that the big boss was planning to reprimand her. She could almost feel a chill coming from the phone.
Back at the office, she sent Leopold a message on WhatsApp.
[Mr. Leopold, I’ve already been to your office this morning. I think it might be inappropriate for me to go again this afternoon. Can we just chat on WhatsApp instead?]
There was no response for a long time, so she assumed he didn’t want to bother with her.
She smirked. She wasn’t a fool. Why would she willingly go and get scolded?
But she forgot: Leopold had all the time in the world to deal with her. There was no escaping!
Upon returning to her apartment, she found Leopold sitting on the couch, his expression cold and gloomy.
Feeling a shiver run down her spine, she mumbled, “I’m really tired today. I think I’ll go rest in my room.”

With that, she scurried towards her room like a frightened mouse.
Just as she reached the door, Leopold grabbed her ear.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch!” Her ear felt like it was being torn off.
Leopold applied a little more pressure. This ear wasn’t listening, so he felt the need to teach it a lesson.
“Didn’t you remember any of my rules? Did you just let them go in one ear and out the other?”
Aurelia wanted to cry, whimpering in pain.
“All I did was have lunch with Ms. Elowen. What did I do wrong?”
Leopold released his grip and patted her on the head, “Getting too close to Elowen is your biggest mistake!” Aurelia rubbed her head and massaged her reddened ear, looking wronged. “She wanted to see you and was feeling down. She asked me to have lunch with her, to talk things out. I couldn’t refuse. She is your fiancée after all. I don’t want to offend her and make things awkward.”
Leopold was a little annoyed. “Don’t you have any sense of danger?”
Of course, Aurelia did. She would protect their children.
And this lunch wasn’t a total waste, because she learned a lot of secrets.
If Elowen hadn’t gotten drunk, she certainly wouldn’t have been so “straightforward“.
“I understand your worries. You’re afraid Elowen will find out the babies are still here. I’ll be careful. I’m not showing yet, just a little bulge. No one would suspect I’m pregnant.”
She looked at him seriously, a hint of mischief in her eyes. “And I told her that because of the abortion, I developed fibroids in my uterus. When I start showing, I’ll just say the fibroids have grown.”
Leopold was both frustrated and amused.
Fibroids?
She really came up with that?
“No matter what, you can’t get too close to Elowen.”
“I got it, I’ll be careful.” She stuck out her tongue.
As if! Leopold shot her a glance. This unpredictable pawn was indeed giving him a headache.
“Weren’t you tired? Why don’t you go to sleep? I’ll call you when it’s time for dinner.”
