Antonia Traver’s POV

“L-Let go!” I didn’t expect him to be so bold. Not only did he put his arms around me, but he even kissed

1 scrounged up all the energy I could to escape from his hands. After grabbing the agreement, I shoved him aside in a hurry. “Don’t get any ideas about me! I’m telling you right now. From today onward, your job is to sell your services right and work hard to repay your debt!”

“Can you bear to let me do that?” He narrowed his eyes and stared pointedly at me.

“You’re just a walking ATM to me. Why wouldn’t I be okay with it?” I took my phone out. “Let’s exchange our numbers so that we can get in touch when necessary.”

He took my phone and typed in his number. I took it back from him and saved his number as ‘Debt- Paying Male Escort.

“I’ll send you my bank account details. You need to transfer the money to me every night before midnight. Are we clear?” I commanded as I sent my bank details to him.

Just then, my phone started ringing.

I saw that it was Michael’s number, so I answered the call and snapped, “Stop pressing me. I can’t pay the bill and I’ll forget about the job. Happy now?”

After barking into the phone, I ended the call with my face burning up.

Despondent over the fact that I lost the job I had only just found, I sank into the couch and grabbed the wine gla*s in front of this man. I downed the whole thing as I griped, “It’s all your fault! You’re the reason why I can’t even find a job, and when I finally do, an “sshole comes along to set me up”

“Hm? Someone at Dallas Group is setting you up?” he asked.

“You wouldn’t get it even if I told you.” I didn’t want to entertain his question, but a thought flashed across my mind and I quickly asked, “By the way, can you settle a bill? It should come up to twenty or thirty thousand.”

“Sure!”

“Oh, great!”

1 got him to help me settle the bill for the private room. The bill came up to slightly over twenty-five thousand.

“Thanks. I’ll deduct that amount from the debt you owe me!” I said.

After that, I went back to my colleagues. I’ve settled the bill. Did everyone have fun?”

“Of course, We had a great time! Thanks, Antonia.” All my colleagues quickly voiced their thanks.

“Did you really settle the bill? I heard that it came up to over twenty-five thousand, one of them

“Yeah. It was so expensive that I ended up maxing out all of my credit cards. I’ll have to starve for quite some time now. Haha, I chuckled bitterly. “Still, I’m glad you guys had fun!”

“Um…” A few colleagues felt bad for me and turned to look at Michael.

“You’re being too humble, Miss Traver. This amount probably isn’t even enough for you to buy a purse, so why would you have had to use your credit cards?” Michael sneered. “But we do have to thank you for today. It’ll be my treat next time!”

I abhorred this shameless, despicable man with every fiber of my being, but I couldn’t lash out at him because I wanted to keep the job. My only choice was to ignore him and leave with the rest of my colleagues.

“I drove here, Miss Traver, so I can give you a ride.”

“It’s fine. I can get a cab. Thanks for the offer.”

Once I exited the private room, I went back to the other room where that male escort had been but I didn’t see any sign of him, so I guessed that he was probably busy with a client. The life of a busy professional, huh?

I sent him a text instead. I’m leaving now. Make sure you do a good job and take on as many clients as you can. The faster you settle your debt, the sooner you’ll be free!”

Elijah Stone’s POV

As soon as that woman left, I ordered my subordinates to close the door.

I was in the middle of work when I received her text which made me chortle. She was so st pid that I was beginning to find it rather adorable!

“Sir, Panda has shown up!” One of my men, Larry, came in to report to me. “I’ve sent someone to tail him and see who he meets up with.”

“Make sure he doesn’t know we’re on his tail.”

“Got it.”

I showed up here today not just because of that woman, but also because there were some business matters I needed to deal with. It would likely involve some shady people so I needed a secret location to work out of, and Twilight Bar served as a good cover.

Panda was a thief, but he was no ordinary thief. He was a highly trained, professional thief who took on jobs from anonymous clients on the dark web for huge sums of money.

Not long ago, he stole a very important chip from my company. We were still in the process of catching

him.

According to the information we found, he was a human. This made things rather difficult for us.

Many centuries ago, the ancestors of all non-human beings had a ma*sive war against humans.

Werewolves were unsurpa*sable when it came to fighting power, but humans were cunning. They were intelligent and created sophisticated weaponry. Both sides suffered heavy casualties in that terrible war and the humans’ ancestors suggested a peace deal. In the end, they agreed that all beings would coexist in

peace.

According to the peace treaty, humans and non-human beings were to live in harmony. Non-human beings were allowed to live among humans in regular societies, but had to follow the humans’ laws and couldn’t use their powers in front of a regular human, or they would be cursed. Similarly, humans were not allowed to hunt non-human beings if the non-human beings did not go against the law in any way.

Our ancestors called this treaty the Covenant, and it had been in place for five centuries.

My ancestors kept to the Covenant ever since they started living among humans.

My family started a business empire and hired humans to work in our corporation which was now one of human society’s most influential companies.

Naturally, very few of them knew that we weren’t humans.

If Panda were a werewolf or some other non-human being, we could’ve easily used our methods to deal with him without breaking the Covenant.

Unfortunately, he was a human, so we had to abide by human methods to deal with him, or else, we would suffer from a curse.

Right then, my phone started ringing. That woman was calling me.

I suspected that she was calling because she was afraid that I was reneging on our deal since I was too caught up in my thoughts and didn’t respond to her text. Amused, I answered the call. “Hello?”

“Why aren’t you responding to me? Are you trying to back out of the agreement?” Antonia questioned accusingly.

“I was busy earning money to pay off my debt. I got into character right away. Indeed, I was a debtor that owed her money; a male escort who needed to earn enough funds to compensate her for causing her emotional damages. An amusing form of roleplay, I thought to myself.
