TEMPTING THE DEVIL - Episode 31 And 32

They headed back to the warehouse, Natalie was made to stand while he sat down on his black seat.

” Any explanation for your action?”

” I already told you, he’s gonna have me dead if I don’t get the diamonds. ”

” It’s still not a clear reason why you have to steal a treasure worth 3.5 million USD. Do I have to explain to again that that son of a bitch first stole it from me? ”

” So, what are you trying to say? He should go ahead killing me instead? ”

” I didn’t say so. ”

” No, you didn’t because you don’t care about anything or anyone! All you care about is nothing but yourself!! ”

” I think it’s time you learn I don’t care about you dying or not. ” This words sounded like a blast to Natalie’s ears.

Her heart made a loud beat against her chest. She scoffed, ” Oh, now I regret ever helping you steal back the diamonds. ”

She didn’t want him to see her cry, she stormed out of the office, banging the door after her.

She trailed out of the house, not minding the eyes staring at her. She covered her head with her hoodie, also banging the exit door hard.

She let the tears out, it hurts. Her chest was beginning to pain her, and she felt like the whole world has rejected her.

She had only few time left, four hours to be precised and he doesn’t seem to care about that.

After every thing she’s done for him, yet he cared less about her life. Also had the fu*king guts to tell it right at her face that he doesn’t care if she’s dead or not.

The more she wipes off the tears on her cheek, it kept rolling out the more.

She was regretting it all. From the start, her pains is all because of him. She’s been tortured and hurt are all because of her, now…

She was walking along the quiet road, wishing Gennaro’s men would take her and have her dead for good.

” Dad… this is hell of a shit. I wanna go home. I just wanna…” She stopped talking by the light of an approaching car but still kept walking.

The car stopped, and whoever it was came out of the car. ” Hey.” Realizing it was him, she didn’t care to stop. ” Guess you wanna die after all?”

She scoffed, ” Not like you care.” She muttered to herself, still walking.

He entered the car, starting it again. He drove to her front, stopping before her. Winging down the window, he said. ” Get inside the car.”

She stood, looking to another direction. ” Get in.” She didn’t move, ignoring him.

He got out of the car, and she got in. He scoffed in defeat, hoping back in.

They drove to Gennaro’s location, and she almost wanted to leave with the fake diamond when he held her back.

She stiffened by the touch of his hand on hers, staring at his hand then at him. He loosened his grip from her, ” You’re getting in.” breaking the silence.

” He’s gonna find out we gave him the fake one but try not to act like you know. I with my men we’ll be outside watching. Just settle him and get the hell out of there. ”

” What if he kills me before I get out? ” She asked.

He hesitated. ” He won’t. But if he tries to, we have no choice but to attack back. ”

She left the car, heading to the building. As if he was expecting her, he sat on his long white couch, his legs folded over the other.

” Good timing, sweetheart. Didn’t expect you to be this early. Do you have the diamonds with you? ” She took off the bag pack from her shoulder, dropping it on the floor.

” Smart.” He made an eye sign to one of his men to check on the bag.

” It’s the original.” Said the guy, zipping the bag pack back.

” You really did a great job risking your life for this. Don’t you think you might end up getting yourself into trouble? ”

” I think I just escaped the real trouble. Now you have the diamonds, can I go?”

” Not yet. Get the bag. ” He ordered the guard and he did so. He checked on the bag, playing with the diamonds in his hand.

” Like I said, you’re pretty smarter than I thought. ” He chuckled. ” You can’t out take me, Miss Bradeson. Trying to cover the fake with some little precious diamonds?

You can’t deceive me, I’ve been in the field for over years now and you… you’re just a journalist. ”

Natalie has started trembling, her heart beat faster than normal. ” Do something… fu*cking do something Draco.” She mentally yelled.

” Who do you work for? ” He asked.

” Our deal is over, I should get going now.”

” Not yet, this wasn’t our deal. So, I’ve changed my mind. ” Turns to the guy beside. ” Shoot her. ”

Her eyes flew open, as she stared at the guy. ” No. No, please don’t.”

” So are you ready to answer the question? Who do you work for? ”

” I… I… I work alone. ” She stammered.

” Good. Now shoot her. ” He almost pulled the trigger when another was shot direct to his head.

Charles.

She sighed in relief.

” You brought companies?”

” I brought helpers.”

Then the door banged open, Charles first walked in, then Draco followed.

” Who do we have here.” Gennaro said, not surprised.

” Hello, Lutor. It’s been a long time. ”

” Indeed. So, you’re the one who played the game, not so surprised I’d say. ”

” Wasn’t expecting you to. You have the diamonds, don’t you? ”

” Those are fake. ”

” Why don’t we make a deal then. ”

” I don’t fu*king make deals with people like you. ”

” Well, you’re gonna do that now. So the deal goes like this, you forget about the diamonds and we move like nothing happened.

Or, we play the real game. Deal? ”

” Fine. Deal. ”

” Good! ” Turns to her, ” Let’s go. ”

They turned to go, Natalie was the last to turn. She was quick to notice Gennaro pick a gun, so she pulled Charles’s gun from his back pocket, pulling the trigger before Gennaro could.

The sound of the bullet made them turn. Eyes open as they stared shocked at Gennaro’s dead body on the ground.

Draco looked at her, she was shivering that she let go off the gun and it fell to the ground.

She has never seen a dead body before, and this was likewise her first time holding a gun.

She just killed someone?

He held her until they were out of the building, and she was quiet through out the ride back home.

The trauma of the incident weakened her to nothing. It felt like she had seen her greatest nightmares.

One may think she was saved from drowning from the atlantic ocean. She was still sitting in the car, Draco went to call a maid to assist her to her room.

The woman held Natalie’s trembling body as they made it to the passage which led to her room.

” Wait.” They paused. He walked up to her, ” A brief moment, please.” The maid excused herself.

He waited for a while, before asking. ” Why did you do it?” He asked her. ” Why did you save my life?”

She hesitated. ” I didn’t want to watch you die. I know you hate me so much but… I don’t wanna think of anyone dying. Not now. Good night. ”

He held her hand, pulling her to his chest. She struggled to let go, ” Still.” He said and she was still.

” Thank you.” He said and she was crying on his arms. ” I’m sorry I caused so much pains to you. It’s all my fault you got tortured twice. I’m sorry. ”

Natalie listened and it only made her cry the more. She felt like staying in his arms for eternity, they felt safer than the mansion.

It felt more like home.

” You need to get some rest.” He said, breaking the hug. ” Matilda!” In no time, Matilda appeared.

” Yes, sir. ”

” Take her to her room. ”

” Come on. ” She wrapped one hand around her as she escorted her. Natalie turned to look at him, he played a small smile on his lips.

He quietly opened the door to her room, not wanting to create a sound.

She was asleep, her blanket covered almost all her body, leaving her head exposed.

He walked closer to the bed, sitting beside her. He shifted the strands of her hair, staring at her innocent face.

He knew he’d gain so much having her by his side, but he was scared to. He was done watching her get hurt all because of him.

He was done seeing her tortured for his crimes. The wounds, the scars, he knows of them but he wouldn’t show remorse.

And it wasn’t supposed to be this way. No, he never thought of it turning out this way.

He saw himself betraying him. He was growing this feeling, one he has never felt before.

Why was he feeling this way? Why does he feel changed all of a sudden??

She saved his life, for the second time.

Despite how rude he’s been to her, yet, she never hates him back. Instead, she only wanted to create a good relationship with him.

He’s feeling was always a one night stand, but now, she has changed history.

If one could tell him he’d be this way towards her, he wouldn’t dare to believe it.

But here he is, staring at her, like it was his first time doing so.

His hatred and anger had only blinded him from noticing how beautiful she was.

He leaned to her face, placing a kiss on her cheek. She mumbled something and he bent to listen.

” Don’t… leave me, Draco. Please… don’t leave me.”

She dozed off again.
