TEMPTING THE DEVIL - EPISODE 21
As I drove ruthie back home, we were on the highway when my car broke down.
“ Fuck!” I cursed, “ Damn it.”
I hit the steering wheel as I angrily opened the door. I opened the burnette, hot smokes evaporating out of it.
“ What are we going to do?” Ruthie asked, stepping out of the car.
“ I don’t know. Guess we have to wait for a little while.”
We sat in the car for hours before the engine could get cold.
“ What’s the time?” I asked Ruthie who checked on her phone.
“ Few minutes to one. It’s almost like two hours we’ve been sitting here. Check the car again”
I went to chec on the engine, it was a bit cold now. I asked ruthie to help me start the car, it made some annoying noise which took for about two minutes before it could finally start.
“ I’ll drop you home first, then I’ll take it to the maintenance shop.”
“ What about you, how are you gonna go home?” she asked, worried.
“ Don’t worry about me, my driver will come pick me up.”
I drove her back home, before making a turn to the maintenace shop. I phoned Tony, telling him my location.
Not about ten minutes, he showed up to the shop. “ What happened to your car?” he asked while we headed back to the mansion.
“ It broke down.”
“ What are you gonna do about tomorrow?” He asked.
I shrugged. “ I don’t know. I’m still thinking of borrowing you for tomorrow.”
“ I wish I can…”
“ Is there a problem?” I asked.
“ The Boss will be leaving to the airport tomorrow. Or else you have to inform about it tonight.”
“ I hope he accepts.” I said, almost like a whisper.
Tony let out a smile, I’m sure he knows what I am talking about. I mean, who doesn’t know the rude Draco Luciano.
This got me thinking. Will he even listen to me?? Will he let Tony drive me to work?? I never thought about this until now Tony had said it.
Later in the night, I walked out of my room after hearing Draco’s voice from downstairs.
Before I could get to the dinning room, he was done with his phone call. And he wasn’t even in the dinning room, he was in the second dinning which was seperated by a tall golden door.
I took countless breath before opening the door. He stared at me with the same emotionless expression which never change each time it was me.
“ Sorry for disturbing. I uhm… I… My car broke down this afternoon, and it’s at the maintenance shop right now. I was… I was wondering if you’d let me borrow Tony for tommorow.”
“ I’ll see what I can do about that.” He said with out making any argument.
No high hopes yet, still hoping for what tommorow will be.

The next morning, Tony was waiting for while the car was still warming. I was so happy he kept to his words without a case involved.
“ By what time should I come to pick you up?” He asked.
“ 3pm.” I said.
” 3pm.” He repeated, before zooming off.
It’s Ruthie and I again, in our free time. Just us, gossiping about one staff or the other. Being less busy gets you doing what you don’t want to do.
“ I have the worst cousin ever.” I said, sipping on the hot coffee Ruthie bought for me.
“ You never told me you live with your cousin.” She said.

“ You never asked.”
“ So…”
“ He’s the worst cousin ever. He never gives a damn about me.” I said, referring to Draco. “ He never talked to me on a normal conversation.
He’s always mean like we had a fight years ago. Like, I never even exist to him.”
“ And you two live under the roof?”
“ Worst cousins ever.”

She stood outside the building impatiently waiting for Tony to show up. He was taking longer than he should.
Three pm, that was their deal and it’s almost past three, he hasn’t show up yet.
“ You need to start going, I diont think you can wait any longer for him to show up.” She said, concerned.
“ Don’t worry, I can wait.”
“ Ruthie, you have to go home. I’ll pay for your transport, don’t wory about it.”
“ I didn’t say I don’t have the money.”
“ As a pay back for the coffe.”
“ F*ck me.” They boarded a taxi which Ruthie entered, “ Call me when you get home.”
“ I will. Bye.” she waved at her until she was out of sight.
Nat had to wait for an extra ten minutes before tony showed up. She opened the door, stepping in. “ What took you so…” she was about to ask but then saw that it wasn’t Tony but… Draco.
“ Put on your seat belt.” He said, eyes focused on the steering.
The ride back home was quiet one as none of them talked to each other. As soon as they got back home, he stepped out of the car, Natalie sat back.
“ Are you gonna keep sitting in there?” He slammed the door hard, causing her to flinch.
Every action he took made her scared. It made her miss home the more. If she was living in her home, all this wouldn’t have been happening.
She had just finished taking her bath, so she went down to the kitchen to make herself oat.
She sighed, leaning her hands on the counter. Remembering the fact that she still have a long months to go with him…
It’s like dinning with the devil.
She was going to turn on the cooker when she saw him coming.
With the expression on his face, one may think he was going to kill at the moment.
Natalie moved back until he body made contact with the counter, her hands on the counter for support.
His gaze was fixed to hers. And if eyes can kill, Natalie could have been long dead by now.

Her heart was beating hard against her chest at every close step he made.
He was an inch close to her, and immediately she shut her eyes close.
He stretched to take the knife just above her head. When she saw he wasn’t doing anything to her, she opened it again.
He was already few metres away from her, left like nothing happened. Of course, nothing did happen.
She exhaled heavily, like she had just escaped a fire outbreak.
The urge to eat the oat disappeared instantly, so, she left to bed with an empty stomach.
