“Cass, don’t harbor such hostility towards me! I never intended to impose on you! Look, how nice it is for the three of us to be together!” He shamelessly said to me, “Have you noticed the change in Joy? She doesn’t talk as much as she used to. She was always chattering before! What about now?”

He actually looked at me and asked, seemingly accusing me, as if all of this was caused by me.

“Couldn’t you compromise for the sake of the child? I’m telling you, Cass, Broadray Vision has changed hands. Your backer is gone. Are going to persist?” There was a triumphant gleam in his eyes.

He laughed again, seemingly doting on me with a sense of helplessness, “You! Cass, why can’t I let go of you? Cassie, you’re too stubborn, but let me tell you, you’re not the same person you used to be, and society isn’t the same either. Stop trying to be tough. You’ve even messed up Prosper Materials. I’ve given you opportunities, but you can’t even handle a few suppliers. Do you really need to keep pushing?”

“Did you really think a few suppliers could scare me?” I retorted.

He gave a noncommittal smile, “Cassie, you really thought Raymon could be your rock, didn’t you? You’re too naive. What kind of waves can a small executive assistant like him make? This time, he’s probably been washed up on the beach by a wave. And you’re still hoping he can come back and stand up for you?”

I was terribly frightened inside, and I knew very well that the odds seemed very small, “So what?”

“Be realistic! One round of games was enough, wasn’t I generous enough to you? No matter what your relationship with him was, even if that kid played you for a fool, I could tolerate it. We’re even now, you have Raymon and I have Lelia, isn’t this normal?”

“You’re shameless!” I really couldn’t find a more precise word to hit him with.

“Can’t we turn back and be safe? Let me tell you, if you continue to be stubborn, you can run off with anyone you like, but don’t even think about taking the child. She is of the Price family’s blood, I can’t possibly let her take another man’s surname!” He shook his head and threatened me, “Bringing her back to my side, that’s a matter of minutes!”

“Don’t even think about it!” I couldn’t help but yell, attracting the attention of everyone around.

Oswald glanced at those people, still turned back, and smiled at me.

“If you were to change your mind, not wanting to stay at home, and wanted to do something, Prosper Materials could be your playground. Or… you could take on project contracts for Prosper Materials, that’s your strength. Then after signing the contract, I could do the work. Don’t you think it would be great for us, as a couple, to join forces?”

After hearing his words, I was almost infuriated to the point of passing out. I can’t believe he could even think of it, even at this point, he still wanted to take advantage of me.

“We were such a well–matched couple that even the gods would envy, so why would you go to great lengths to subcontract the project?”

Upon hearing his words, I knew that Ralph had already conveyed my message to him. I was merely trying to trick him, but he took it seriously. I had to remove this thorn as soon as possible, so that Oswald would no longer be able to cause trouble for Prosper Materials.

No wonder Raymon kept urging me to kick out those suppliers.
