- Season 2 Episode 44 - The Child Was Suddenly Taken Away
The call was from Joy’s teacher, saying that Joy had been picked up by her father.
This call instantly unsettled me, how did Oswald suddenly think of taking Joy away?
I hurriedly called Oswald, a number once so familiar to me, now felt so strange and cold. The phone rang for a long time before Oswald finally answered. His voice was full of tenderness, “Wife!”
I was instantly furious, “Oswald, what are you doing? Who allowed you to take the child away?”
“Honey, don’t worry, I was just missing our daughter. It’s been so long since I’ve seen her, I miss her terribly!“”
His words gave me goosebumps, he was simply a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Would he even think about his daughter?
“I said, stop using that name, don’t disgust me! Where are you?” I was so anxious that my eyes turned red, and I yelled into the phone, losing my
composure.
“Didn’t I get used to calling you that? In my heart, no matter when, you are still my wife, and that will never change in this lifetime!” His tone was incredibly gentle, I was sure he did it on purpose, “Don’t rush, I’m at Ice–Snow World!”
Without a second thought, I hung up the phone and called my mom, telling her that I would pick up the child myself, as I was afraid she might be worried.
Then I drove straight to Ice–Snow World, which was a large children’s
amusement park, with various ice cream cakes and playgrounds for children of all age groups.

My daughter was my life, even though she called Oswald ‘Dad‘, he had long lost the qualifications to be a father.
When I rushed into the big world with great urgency, I saw Oswald feeding Joy ice cream spoon by spoon. Once upon a time, such a warm scene touched me deeply.
It was Joy who first noticed me, eager to jump off the chair to find me, but she was held back by Oswald. Joy struggled a couple of times in his arms, showing some reluctance.

Istrode over, without a word, snatched Joy from Oswald’s arms, and held her tightly in mine.
Oswald looked at me with a smirk, “Why are you so anxious? She’s my daughter too, do you think I would harm her?”
I tried my best to control my impulses, not wanting Joy to always see us arguing.
Joy clung to my neck tightly with her little short arms, lying on my shoulder as if she had done something wrong.
“Is it delicious?” I asked her softly, patting her back.
She blinked her big, innocent eyes at my face, observing my reactions, then stuck out her soft, pink tongue, licking her upper lip, clearly not satisfied.
Oswald quickly stood up, pulling me in, “Sit down quickly, the daughter hasn’t finished eating, she’s only had a chunk of ice cream, feed her some more!”
I held back my emotions, sat down with Joy in my arms, took the ice cream, and continued to feed Joy. Oswald sat across from us, his eyes full of indulgence, smiling at us, mother and daughter. To outsiders, we were absolutely an enviable family of three.
Joy was just mechanically opening her little mouth to eat the ice cream I was feeding her, but she kept looking at us from time to time. My heart felt as if it was about to tear apart from the pain.
There must have been a shadow on her little soul, one that she couldn’t put into words.
“Wife!” Oswald said warmly, “What would you like to eat?”
I was at my wit’s end, clenching my hand tightly, the knuckles holding the spoon turned white. Inside, I was constantly screaming ‘Damn it!‘
I lifted my gaze, looking at him, my eyes blazing like a fierce fire. In a low voice, I asked, “Have you no shame?”
Oswald suddenly smiled, his eyes curving up, even carrying a unique naivety. But I understood, there was a hint of conspiracy in his smile.
But it was such a smile that gave me chills down my spine.
