This slap landed on my face, the burning pain was intense, and a stream of warm blood trickled down from the corner of my mouth.
Joy immediately clung to my thigh and wailed heartbreakingly.
I straightened up, covering my face, and looked coldly at Oswald, “So, your true colors are finally revealed!”
Oswald’s eyes suddenly narrowed, a flash of panic crossing his face. But the next second, Lelia leisurely twisted around to face me, “Cassie, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll give me back my things exactly as they were. Otherwise, you’ll end up looking worse than this!”
“Lelia, give up that hope!” I said firmly, “I’ve done more than enough for you, the Price family! Oswald, remember this slap, I will make you pay it back double.”
After speaking, I was just about to bow my head to pick up Joy, who was crying loudly, but unexpectedly, Lelia grabbed my hair and yanked me, causing me to stumble.
Seeing this, Joy let go of my thigh she was holding onto and went to push Lelia, “Bad auntie, bad auntie…”
I got tangled up with Lelia.
Oswald roared in anger, “Let go of me…”
After speaking, she reached out and grabbed my arm. With one of my arms restrained, Lelia became even more rampant, harshly slapping me twice. I was stunned by the blows.
In the next second, my anger peaked. I violently broke free from Oswald’s

grip, fiercely swung back, and slapped Lelia’s face hard.
Sergio saw me hitting Lelia, he got up wanting to join the fight, but Joy was down there, beating Lelia with heart–wrenching intensity.
Sergio reached out, pulling Joy towards him with one swift motion, and flung her behind him. I hurriedly reached out to grab Joy, but it was too late. I watched as Joy’s petite body was thrown out like a rag doll. With a thud, Joy’s crying abruptly stopped, and the room fell into silence.
The next second, I finally snapped back to reality, rushing towards Joy who was lying motionless on the ground like a madman,
”
…Joy! Joy!”

It was not until this moment that Dinah came to her senses, wailing, “…Sweet! Oh my goodness… Sweet!”
“Joy, Joy!” I cried out, cradling the motionless Joy in my arms, calling her name. Her tiny, beautiful face quickly swelled up, as if she had fallen asleep, lifeless. I shakily checked her breathing, it was very faint.
“…So sweet! What’s wrong with you, open your eyes and look at grandma!” Dinah wailed.
Oswald stood there, dumbfounded. I quickly picked up Joy and ran outside. Dinah was crying out, “Oswald, go to the hospital quickly!”
I ran frantically towards the roadside, holding my child, my legs so weak it was ridiculous. As I ran, I shouted, “Help… Save my child…”
A jeep that had just entered the community stopped beside me, and a young man shouted at me, “Sister, get in the car quickly!”
I couldn’t care less about anything else, I carried the child, limp as mud and barely breathing, onto his car. The car raced towards the hospital at breakneck speed.
When I handed my child over to the doctor, I watched as they gathered around. I fell to my knees, begging them to save my daughter. I even

forgot to cry
It took me quite a while to nervously call Eleanor, asking her to hurry to the hospital.
Not long after, Oswald came running over, carrying his mother.
He finally started to tremble at the sight of my condition, his lips pale. With shaking hands, he tried to grab me, to pull me up, but I was beyond help.
When Eleanor rushed in, 20 minutes had already passed, the doctor was still trying to save the child. I asked Eleanor to call the Local Alliance of Women and also called the police. The reporters who were covering news in the hospital immediately picked up on the information and hurriedly followed up with reports.
I had been kneeling there, staring blankly as doctors rushed in and out of the emergency room. I wasn’t trying to play the victim or seek sympathy, I genuinely couldn’t stand up.
Eleanor’s eyes were bloodshot, murderous. She stormed over and slapped Oswald hard twice across the face, but he didn’t move an inch.
Two hours later, a doctor walked out of the emerge
