The room was ready, so I quickly took off my wet clothes and turned on the air conditioner’s warm air. Then, I rushed into the bathroom and let the hot water pour down on me. I was almost frozen stiff, and it took a long time for the shower to slightly alleviate my condition.
I regretted not bringing a change of clothes.
Wrapped in a blanket, I boiled a pot of hot water. I didn’t care whether the cups here were clean or not, I scalded them a few times, poured the water and started drinking. I thought to myself, it would be nice if I had a piece of ginger.
I gave a bitter smile, but my mind was not idle, thinking about how I could meet Reid.
Reaching out to take the sample book, flipping through the contact information on it, I tried to make a call. After trying several numbers, I got nothing. It really was a case of the bigger the shop, the worse the customer service, even getting to see the boss was this difficult.
I had placed all my hopes on Mr. Franklin, but after waiting all night, no one called me. From anticipation to gradual disappointment, I didn’t know when I fell asleep. However, in the middle of the night, I started to run a fever, shivering non–stop even wrapped in a blanket, my teeth chattering loudly.
In a daze, I really wanted to drink some hot water, but I couldn’t open my eyes at all, nor could I get up. The nightmares were relentless.
Until the next morning, I gritted my teeth and got up, fearing that Oswald would call me. I forced myself to go to the small supermarket at the door, made a video call to him, and showed him a glimpse to prove that I was at my hometown. The supermarket was the hardest place to find flaws, I

hung up the phone after saying a few words, I really couldn’t muster the
energy.
I had intended to go out and buy a box of medicine, but there was simply no pharmacy nearby. I asked the front desk, and even to get to the nearest hospital, I would have to take a taxi a long distance. Moreover, my phone was almost out of battery.
I had no choice but to return to my room, intending to fully charge my phone before leaving. However, in my confusion, I fell into a deep sleep. Even as I slept, my mind seemed to maintain a strange clarity, still thinking that I couldn’t just lie here and wait. I had to find Reid, I had to take down their agents.
This was the capital I used to defeat Oswald.
At some point, my phone rang. I jolted, quickly reaching for the phone, both anxious and hopeful. I was anxious that it might be a call from Oswald, yet hopeful for news from Reid.
But when I saw Raymon flashing on the screen, I was somewhat disappointed, more or less.
He only spoke briefly before hanging up, I was so confused that I didn’t even know what he was talking about.
In a daze, I felt myself burning up again, freezing cold. I knew all too well that it was due to a heart attack caused by extreme anxiety. I had been overly anxious recently, and after a bout of heavy drinking that day, I didn’t get any relief. Coupled with getting caught in a heavy rain, I gradually lost consciousness in the cold.
I only felt someone calling my name from the distant sky. I wanted to respond, but I couldn’t make a sound. It was like walking in the fog, damp, cold, and unable to see the end.
“Cassie… …Cassie……

I tossed and turned, searching for the sound, a sound that seemed so close
to me.
“Cassie, wake up!” My forehead felt so warm, I greedily rubbed against it. “Cassic…”
I struggled to open my eyes, a distinct face appeared before me, I suspected it was a kind of illusion of my own.
“Cassie, are you awake?” I stared blankly at his face. He raised an eyebrow and asked lightly, “Feeling better?”
I looked at Raymon in disbelief, “…How is it you? Where am I?”
“Hospital! Who do you hope it is?”
.hospital?”
“What do you think? You’re really something!” His large hand rested on my forehead, testing my temperature, “The fever’s gone!”
“You haven’t told me yet, how come you’re here?” I looked at him, full of questions.
“I just happened to be in Aglarond on business, and there were N ways I could have found you,” he said, looking at me. “Are you trying to kill yourself, not going to the hospital with such a high fever?”
I licked my dry lips, feeling somewhat desolate, but gritted my teeth and forced myself to say, “I’m fine, just accidentally fell asleep!”
Upon hearing my words, Raymon furrowed his brows, his tone somewhat impatient, “Burned to the point of unconsciousness, and you say it’s not serious? Tell me, what do you consider serious?”
After hearing his words, I chuckled and cursed inwardly, thinking, “This is so damn weird. Every time I make a fool of myself, he’s sure to see it.”

“You really have a strong vitality, still able to laugh even after torturing yourself to the point of being covered in wounds. Aren’t you tired?”
There was a hint of mockery in his tone that I found hard to accept, “Tired, but do I have a choice? I have to face it, what gives you the right to mock me? If you don’t like it, you can stay away, there’s no need to make trouble for yourself! Don’t play the savior in front of me, you can’t save everything, I have my own thoughts, there’s no need for you to be sarcastic!”
My tone was harsh, but my tears were uncontrollable.
Time seemed to stand still, no one spoke. After a moment, he still reached out and gently touched my forehead. His deep eyes revealed no emotion. He parted his lips slightly, “I told you, I would help you!”
was just about to say something else when I was interrupted by a knock at the door.
The door opened and two people hurried in. I took a closer look and suddenly sat up.
