The doorbell rang right when Bailey sent a message to Juliana.

It was a curt text: Have a safe trip.

After the message was sent, she tossed her phone onto the coffee table and went to the doorway to open the door.

“Bailey, you lied to me!”

The sight of her sister-in-law at the door caused Bailey to massage her brows in exasperation.

Ugh, I’m going to have a headache. I’ve just sent one away, and another one is here.

“When did I lie to you?”

“You promised to get me Legendary Racer’s autograph, but she didn’t even come to Hallsbay, let alone join the competition!”

Bailey let out a helpless sigh. “How do you know she’s not at Hallsbay? Not joining the competition doesn’t mean she’s not here, get it?”

Caridee blinked. “Is she here? You’re not lying to me, right?”

Feeling amused, Bailey slapped her head. “I promise you’ll get Adhira’s autograph that day.”

Caridee sighed in relief and took Bailey’s arm. Beaming, she said, “Bailey, you’re the best!”

Right after she spoke, footsteps sounded in the corridor outside.

They both looked up.

Caridee bore a lovestruck expression when she got a clear look at the person.

“Oh, he’s so handsome. I-Is he coming toward us?”

Bailey glanced at her before turning to look at Veikko. Oh, no. Caridee is a pampered socialite, so she cannot resist someone as handsome as Veikko. That’s precisely why handsome young men are popular in the entertainment industry. Girls just swoon at the sight of them.

Veikko’s black outfit made him look more handsome than ever.

He also looked manly as he received vigorous training all year long.

Did Caridee fall in love with him at first sight? Please don’t… If he steals her heart, Ratemis will kill me!

Caridee rolled her eyes in exasperation. “I have only taken one look at your lackey. Why are you so nervous? I wasn’t planning on seducing him.”

After she said that, a shocking thought popped up in her mind. Her eyes widened incredulously as she asked, “B-Bailey, don’t tell me you have a kept man without Artemis’ knowledge… Mmph…”

Bailey hurriedly covered her mouth and declared, “Stop talking nonsense. If your brother hears this, he’ll kill me!”

Caridee blinked before reaching out to pry her hand off. “It turns out you’re scared of Artemis, huh?”

Bailey was speechless.

Yes, I’m afraid of Artemis. In fact, I’m terrified of him. I’m scared he’ll pin me in bed and force me to stay there for seven days in a row.

She wasn’t exaggerating, for Artemis was perfectly capable of doing that.

“Who is he, Bailey? If you refuse to tell me who he is, I’ll tell Artemis you have a kept man.”

Bailey shot her a glare.

I knew it. The Luthers may look innocent, but they are full of tricks.

“My sworn brother. Don’t talk nonsense,” she warned.

“What is his name?” Caridee asked.

“Veikko.”

Oh, Veikko. Caridee blinked twice. What a nice name. I like it.

Bailey pushed her into the living room and slammed the door shut.

“Why did you come?”

Veikko glanced at her and asked, “I heard Dexter isn’t coming back and wants you to join the competition on his behalf. Is that right?”

“Yes, he can’t make it back in time and asked me to compete on his behalf. Why don’t you do that instead?”

Bailey didn’t want to steal the limelight, anyway.

Hearing that, Veikko spun on his heels and left. “I’m not used to people staring at me like I’m a monkey

in the zoo.”

Bloody hell! He’s insulting me indirectly!

“By the way, what about the thing I told you to investigate? What did you find?”

“The Hoffman family is currently at Sunny Resort in the south of the city. Sebastian is locked up there, too. However, you shouldn’t act recklessly. bow at my feet.

Raymond came down the stairs and chuckled. “You keep your promise by showing up in three days.”

Juliana blinked and raised her brow. “I have no choice as my nephew is with you, Mr. Raymond. Now that I’m here as promised, can you release Sebastian?”

Raymond gave a dismissive wave. “There’s no hurry. He’s part of the Hoffman family, and I’d like to spend more time with him. I’ll ask someone to send him home when we leave.”

Juliana sneered inwardly.

As she expected Raymond not to release Sebastian that easily, she wasn’t that disappointed at his response.

“All right. We’ll do it your way. Where is Sebastian? I’ll go take a look at him.”

Since she agreed without kicking up a fuss, Raymond didn’t make things difficult for her. He ordered a maid,” Bring Ms. Juliana to the guest room so she can see Mr. Sebastian.”

“Yes.”

After watching them leave, the middle-aged man beside Raymond asked, “Holden didn’t take action after receiving the finger. Was my prediction wrong?”

Raymond snorted icily. “They are placing their hopes on Juliana and won’t take action.”

“What should we do?”

“Make sure Juliana doesn’t get to contact the outside world. That way, they will panic and fight with each other. Also, tighten the security on the bast*rd. We don’t want to let Juliana take advantage of the situation to save him.”

“Got it.”

Zoey got her phone and left the living room.

She came to a stop in a gazebo in the garden and glanced at the bodyguard in black who summoned her. Frowning, she asked, “What is it?”

“Ms. Zoey, I just received a tipoff from a friend who works for the racing association. It is related to Bailey.”
