“That’s impossible.” Tamara said frankly, “Justin is the Fletcher family’s chosen son-in-law, and this will never change. However, we will never allow him to bring a bastard into our house.”

Never would Bill have expected that the elderly woman would be so adamant as to permit her daughter to wed someone she already knew had a son.

Can I go ahead and say that my young grandson is Justin’s child in such a situation? No, I can’t!

mom. I just kept silent because I didn’t know how to deal with it.”

Veronique’s face showed a hint of happiness.

She quickly crouched down and drew him into a hug. “I’m sorry, Zephyr. It’s all my fault. Despite spending all of our time together, we couldn’t acknowledge one another as mother and child because I dared not face the truth.”

Zephyr met her gaze and, after remaining silent for a while, mumbled, “I want you two to live together. Is that okay?”

Veronique was stunned.

She naturally understood who he meant by “you two.”
