What am I trying to do?

Veronique stared at him with tears in her eyes.

I want to save Zephyr, the poor child who grew up with me but could only call me “Aunt Veronique”!

“I’ve loved you for so many years, Justin! I dedicated my youth to you, but you’ve been as cold as ice to me! You know what? I’ll make this easy for the both of us. I’m ovulating these two days, so just give me a child, and I’ll leave you alone.”

I’m really sorry, Justin… Zephyr’s life is in danger, so I have no choice. He still has a long way ahead of him in life, and I can’t let him suffer because of us. Since you hate me so much, I know my child will never receive your love and affection. I don’t plan on telling you about Zephyr’s existence because it would ruin your perfect marriage with Ms. Fletcher. Just give me a child, and I’ll save Zephyr with the cord blood. This will free that poor child from his suffering!

The veins on Justin’s head were bulging as he clenched his teeth to keep himself conscious.

“I used to think you were just a little clingy, but now, I see how much of a b*tch you truly are… Are you really that desperate? Do you really desire me that badly? You disgust me to the core, Veronique. I would rather die than have sex with you! Get lost!”

While most women would probably die from heartache after being humiliated by the man they love, Veronique was so desperate to save Zephyr that she couldn’t care less about it.

Saving her son’s life was all that she could think about at the time.

“I’ll be completely gone from your life after tonight, so you can hate me to your heart’s content. My child is all I need for the rest of my life.”

“F*ck off! Go find yourself another guy or something! Don’t you dare taint me with that filthy body of yours!”

Justin grabbed a cup from the table and smashed it against her head.

Bang!

Veronique simply sat there and took the hit from the cup without flinching.

Despite him being drugged, Justin’s swing was still incredibly forceful due to his rage.

Veronique felt her vision get blurry as tears formed in her eyes, and she let out a chuckle as they rolled down her cheeks.

She knew he had always hated her, but she didn’t think it was to this extent.

Fortunately, Veronique was able to remain calm and keep herself from blurting out Zephyr’s identity. Otherwise, both she and her son would be hated and treated with contempt.

“I’m sorry, but this child is all that I want for the rest of my life. Since I’ve loved you for so many years, I ask that you grant me a seed of life in return. This child will keep me company throughout the rest of my miserable, lonely life.”

Justin felt a chill down his spine when he saw her bleeding forehead.

What the… She’s still going through with this? Does she know that her stubbornness could result in her death?

“Having sex during your ovulation period doesn’t guarantee a pregnancy. If you give me the antidote, I’ll go to your lab and let you extract some of my sperm. You’ll have a higher chance of getting a baby with in vitro fertilization.”

Veronique let out a wry chuckle. “You’d agree to give me a child, but you won’t even lay a finger on me… You really hate me that much, huh? Did you really think I’d believe those words of yours, Justin? You can’t even fool a three-year-old with that, let alone an adult like myself!”

Justin slowly closed his eyes in helplessness.

I’ve tried my best to talk her out of this, but she won’t listen. In this case, there’s nothing else I can do except facing the consequences with her…

Veronique then removed her dress and leaned against his chest as she ran her slender fingers all over his body.

Justin could feel his shirt buttons coming undone one after another, revealing his healthy, tanned skin underneath.

“Thanks for the reminder, Justin. If this doesn’t work, I’ll give in vitro fertilization a try seven days later. One way or the other, I will have your child!”

Justin was slowly starting to lose focus as the raging feelings of lust took over.

Oh, no… I’m on the verge of losing control…

“Are you sure you want to do this? The Fletcher family has decided that I will marry into their family. If you get pregnant with my child, then I will have no choice but to cancel my marriage. What will you do if the Fletchers come after you and your family in revenge?”

Veronique stared at him in confusion. “What do you mean by that?”

“Nothing.” Justin reached out and swept the stuff off the table and leaned in close as he continued, “If this is what you want, then I shall give it to you.”

Veronique felt a little dizzy and tried to hold on to something, but her mind had gone completely blank.

What the heck is he doing?

The tension in the room continued to rise. Right as the two of them were about to go at it, the room door was swung open all of a sudden.

The first person to come running in was a middle-aged woman in her fifties. She froze for a brief moment when she saw the position they were in, but the look of shock was soon replaced by anger.

“What the heck do you think you’re doing, Justin?”

A middle-aged man entered the room after her, and he quickly looked away after realizing what was

going on.

Despite still being under the effects of the drugs, Justin was able to retain some of his consciousness.

The loud sound of the room door being swung open and the middle-aged woman’s angry yelling snapped him out of his horny state.

Without even looking at the door, he reached for his dress shirt on the side and wrapped it around Veronique’s upper body.

“You’re about to get married to Scarlett, Justin! How could you cheat on your fiancée like this? Sloan Fletcher will have your head on a platter if he finds out about this!” shouted the woman, who turned out to be Justin’s mother, Olivia.

She was having coffee with her husband in the private room next to theirs when she heard the waiter mention Justin meeting a woman.

Out of curiosity, they decided to go have a look and see who he was meeting. To their surprise, they heard the two making some very questionable noises when they got to the door.

Naturally, they knew what was going on inside the private room.

Fearing that Justin would end up offending the Fletcher family, Olivia had no choice but to barge right in.

What she saw upon entering the room pretty much matched what she had imagined.

Still naked, Justin calmly got to his feet and stared at his furious mother as he said, “You’re the matriarch of one of Hallsbay’s most prestigious families, Mom. Don’t you know to knock before entering a room? Also, you should’ve just left the room quietly after walking in on me.”
